Having read a few reviews after booking , was a bit apprehensive. Nothing to worry about. Friendly greeting, good clean room , lovely shower , no issues. Actually loved the spiral staircase, it’s an old building so exactly what it should look like.|Central to Antwerp, bit noisy at night due to this, however that’s what you expect centrally. Would stay again.

We stayed here for our 2nd night in Antwerp. Stayed in a totally different part of the city the night before. After we arrived at this place we were extremely happy about the location, the neighbourhood, the atmosphere - just everything. We had to pick up the keys at a Café next door. The owner was on the phone and we had to wait a couple of minutes. The room itself was very small and very basic. For 2 friends a bit too tiny. For a couple it's doable. The bathroom door is one to swipe, so it's not really closed. We had a room next to the stairs. It was absolutely fine for what we paid. Easy, basic and perfectly located. The shower and the bathroom floor weren't mopped/cleaned but the rest was clean. Good for a night or two.

The room was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is awesome. The only adjustments come from the fact that there is no air conditioning if that is a problem (there's a window and fan in the room) which wasn't a problem for me. My room was comfortable and thr bathroom was very nice. I finally stayed in a hotel room with a shower with a complete door (it was very nice). I would stay there again.

This is NOT a hotel||Short version: We paid for two nights in an 'executive-suite' but moved out after only one due to safety and quality concerns.||Full version: This property bears little relationship to the description. It is is well placed just a short walk from the Antwerp old town. It comprises a number of cold, scant equipped rooms over 4 floors accessed by a single street door that is in very poor condition. The door is operated by a new key-card lock, the workings of which appear easily bypassed. The premises are not attended by any staff between late afternoon and early morning when the coffee-shop/office below opens. There is SUBSTANTIAL construction work in progress immediately to the rear (see photos).||We arrived late afternoon but had to leave immediately for an appointment. On returning to the premises late-evening the poor nature of the neighbourhood became obvious and on arrival the street door appeared insecure.||We entered with caution and made our way to our room locking the door behind us. The room was cold and poorly equipped with only a bell-boy type trolley for storage. The bedside table was broken and the step into the bathroom presented the sharp edge of a ceramic floor tile. To cap it all there was no remote for the TV so I rang the 'Helpline'. The employee could not attend the premises for another hour but offered free breakfast to compensate. I declined the offer. Instead I was directed to a location in the 'hotel' where I would find keys for all the remaining rooms! We were not the only guests and this struck me as utterly irresponsible. I was asked to choose from two rooms on the 4th floor. Both were freezing cold and neither had curtains over the skylights. I did however take a TV remote back to our room. We slept with overcoats over the bedclothes for warmth.||Next morning the lady in the café below served a delicious breakfast but was so busy serving customers that she was unable to deal with the complaints of others. She did however offer complementary breakfast. We had paid for two nights in advance but this property was so bad that we simply had to leave. I suggested that the property was so mis-described that refunding our second night's stay would be an appropriate gesture. No such gesture was made.

Small hotel in the old city just by the pedestrian tunnel under the Schelde river. Recently renovated. Small room but clean and tidy. Excellent bed, nice bathroom.
You can get a nice breakfast at the cafe French Toast which is a part of the hotel.
Numerous bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly and eager to help with everything. Good Wi-Fi.
Happy to return.

I think some of the reviews on here are unfair. Excellent location and surrounded by good bars, restaurants and shops. Decent price too. The receptionist was lovely as was the girl doing the cleaning. They work hard and deserve more credit. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Ok, the hotel is a bit shabby around the edges but you get what you pay for and for me it adds character to the place. Stairs are steep but hey, you’re in Antwerp! All buildings have steep stairs here so pointless moaning about having to carry your bag up them without any help. It’s not that kind of place. I stayed in room 2 on the 1st floor and it had a nice view over the square, bed was very comfortable and clean and the shower in the room was hot with good pressure. There was a shared toilet on the landing but that doesn’t bother me. I’d stay here again no problem

My fiancee and I stayed Saturday night. The hotel is well situated - about 10 minutes from the groete markt and there are bars and restaurants around. The park in front of the hotel is currently under construction but this wasn't an issue. Our room was nice, we had to share a toilet with the rest of the floor but we had our own shower. The room was nice and airy. The only possible issue I can foresee is that we were on the 4th floor with no lift. My partner and I didn't mind as we only had small backpacks and are fairly fit but I would hate to think of my parents who are in their 60s being put in the same situation.

The location is the best.||There is a free car park about a 3 min walk away on the riverbank.||||The hotel has unique art deco charm - hight ceilings, big windows, great tile work. ||It is very worn out though, which can add to the charm if it weren't so dirty.||||The carpets haven't been cleaned for years, inside of drawers were really dirty, there were black curly hairs on the bathroom walls. The sheets and towels were clean and white though.||||I would stay there again - especially because of the art deco charm and the great location. I just hope they put more stress on cleaning the place thoroughly :)
