This hotel is in the central square of the old town, so conveniently located for the cathedral, cafes (cake and ice-cream!) and restaurants. It is a short bus ride from the main train station.|The rooms are large, well furnished and serviced daily. The reception is only covered in the morning at present, but instructions were sent saying how to access the key. It is worth having a pen handing to press the keypad, as it is quite small. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in room 11. At 0200, we woke up because of bug bites. My partner had 40 bites and we killed 15 mature (5cm) bed bugs. We stripped the bed and could not go back to sleep. In the morning, the staff gave us a can of bug spray, moved us to another room, and refunded one night’s money. My partner’s 40 bites swelled, blistered, and still itch, after 16 days. The bites ruined her travels - and mine. Also, the hotel does not have air conditioning and we could not open the windows because it was extremely noisy all night!

Again, I had the opportunity to visit Aachen and the Christmas Market.|What else could I do than book this hotel again? The location is unbeatable.||I had a room on the 4th floor this time. Let it be noted that the rooms are only accessible by stairs!||Don't book this hotel if you have trouble with stairs or heavy luggage.||There are many opportunities for having breakfast in the immediate area. Many cafés and bakeries.||Everything was clean.||The staff were very friendly and helpful. |Note that the front desk is only manned during the day.||There was free WiFi service available.

A very friendly welcome and allowed to check in a couple of hours early. Sparkling clean and comfortable room. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. They don’t have a breakfast option which would have it made it perfect but next door is a restaurant which offers a fantastic deal on unlimited continental and British breakfasts. You just pay for extra coffee.

If you're exploring central Aachen, this hotel is right where you want to be. The price is reasonable, the rooms are comfortable and good-sized (if perhaps a bit spartan) and clean. I thought the staff was friendly and helpful.||||But! My room on the fourth floor involved climbing 70+ stairs every time I came and went (and hauling my bag up and down when I checked in and out). While it was probably quieter being higher above the street, nocturnal party animals in the town square shouting sing-songy beer-fueled anthems into the wee hours made sleep challenging sometimes. Also, wifi was iffy and there were no safes in rooms.

Where else to stay when the Christmas Market in Aachen is on?|The location is excellent, and the price is reasonable.||Unfortunately, there is only access to the rooms by stairs, so if you have trouble with luggage and stairs this hotel is not for you.|The staff will however help with the luggage if needed.||Another minus is that the breakfast restaurant is temporarily closed, for several reasons. Fortunately, there are several really good options withn 2 minutes walking distance.||The room (33) itself was spacious, and I believe I had one of the smaller rooms. A metal framed double bed, a sturdy desk and a old fashioned wardrobe. Spartan, but more than enough for me.|The bathroom was done in a modern style with white tiles.|Everything was clean.||The staff were very friendly and helpful. |Note that the front desk is only manned during the day.||

Brilliantly located in the heart of Aachen, a short walk away from the Rathaus and the amazing cathedral. Great communication to get the keys, no breakfast or coffee maker but loads of fantastic places within a few metres. Good value too. Met the receptionist in the morning who was warm and friendly. Top notch!!!

Very unfriendly staff, especially the owner. Breakfast was very basic, things weren't filled up when empty. There was no staff at breakfast to check and ask if you need anything. Milk for your coffee, if it was empty you had to ask the table next to you if you could borrow theirs. Disgraceful. Not the service and hospitality I'm used to for German standards. I have been to lots of German hotels over the years, and I was always impressed with the friendly approach from staff and the food, and the fact that you were never short of anything. We even had to ask for toiletpaper because they didn't give us new rolls. My boyfriend has a bowel disease so this was really really bad for him. Being with a group of 35 people, it seemed like they couldn't handle serving diner. At a table of four let's say, two had their meals, the other two had to wait for 15 mins. One day, everyone else had their meals and I had to wait for 25 mins😠||If you don't like to be hospitable, and like to make sure that your guest feel at home, don't run a hotel at all!!! NEVER AGAIN
