I’ve been here a couple of times and the staff have been indifferent and not at all welcoming. They don’t have proper organization when it comes to water bottle and cup distribution. One time my family was accused of stealing a water bottle and a plastic cup because allegedly it was missing from our room. They made us pay money for items that were never put into our room to begin with. The money is beside the point but they were very rude to us, strongly claiming that we were lying. Staff are very mistrusting of their customers. Will never be coming back here after such unfair treatment. There are plenty of better affordable hotels in the area!

My grandfather's apartment used to be a block away so I've stayed at this hotel more times than I could count, everything from a single night to months at a time. I'm so used to staying here that it's practically like coming home every time we visit Guayaquil. I have stayed in my fair share of hotels and resorts, in big cities, middle of nowhere, in Ecuador and Europe, as well as some hotels from hell I do my best to forget. Still, this is probably my favorite hotel in the world because of the family memories I associate with this place. The pros are: the rooms are always clean, staff is friendly and attentive, hot showers, smart TVs you can connect to any streaming service, and you can't beat the price for the location smack in the middle of the city's center. The cons: I don't have any besides this being an emotionally charged review because of all my memories. Stay here, you won't regret it!

This is a very low cost old hotel a few blocks from the Malecón, an area popular with both tourists and locals. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, as well as plenty of shopping venues. Guayaquil does get quite warm sometimes, and the rooms have individual air conditioning units. The shower has neatly installed and hot water on demand. (what some call a suicide shower, but they're quite safe), which might be a new experience for people from the US and Canada. The staff responds quickly to any problems or complaints. I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions, and the service has always been pretty good. There is a security guard full-time at the entrance, so the hotel itself is pretty safe. They also will secure a trusted cab driver if you need one.

Not a fancy hotel but a great bargain for the price. The hotel is clean and friendly. One of the few that I've seen that has elevators. It has a great location in downtown. Unfortunately it is the type of hotel where you have to leave the key in reception everytime you leave. Wifi was not working on my visit sadly.

Not bad, they are so noisy at the morning because they used a speaker on the hall asking the lady to check the rooms, we could use Wookiee tooky instead of let us all hear the noise. The price is fair though. Don’t come late at night the guard will shout at you while parking your car and they will ask you to come earlier 😕.

This place is very comfortable. There's air conditioner and a nice flat screen TV & a fridge. The only downfall is there are no blankets; sheets only and you cannot bring alcohol into the hotel. If you do, they can't see it or you will get in trouble. My boyfriend and I paid 25 for a night. You cannot beat that price

Basic room, right downtown. Very clean. Has fridge, but no food allowed (??). Walking distance to the only Wendy's I've seen in Ecuador

The booking ads say $35-40. I have stayed at this hotel a couple times, and the rate has been $17.50 for a double room with air conditioning. This is not a high-end hotel, but it is clean and comfortable, with widescreen tv and wifi. Note that the shower is hot water on demand, sink is cold water only. This is pretty normal for Ecuador, but people from the US and Canada and Europe may find it odd. The room does not include breakfast, but there are a number of low-cost restaurants within easy walking distance. Also nearby are pharmacies, department stores, grocery stores, etc. It's located near a number of tourist attractions, including the large waterfront park with amusement rides and museums, and the old town with the famous stairway.
