We had a restful and enjoyable first night stay on Camino at Hotel A Torre do Xudeu. We arrived in Tui by train to Valencia and found a cab quickly to take across the River and border to Tui. The hotel is beautiful, with lots of space, and amenities. After checking in and receiving our pilgrim passports we made our way to the town square for dinner. The hotel is a short two block walk to a friendly and many options for dining. Our room was on the first floor and spacious, comfortable and peaceful. Large bathroom with walk-in shower along with all we needed to be ready for our walk to Santiago. Breakfast in the morning offered everything we might want and the coffee and pastries devine. With bags packed and placed at the front desk as directed, we gathered our day packs, and set out on the Camino Portuguese that runs right in front of the hotel. I’ll note that the hotel sells a number of nice collectibles and supplies for pilgrims. In hindsight, I wish we had spent a little time looking as the items we found later along our way appeared to be less quality. Thank you to the team at the hotel for making our stay enjoyable and memorable.
