We had a restful and enjoyable first night stay on Camino at Hotel A Torre do Xudeu. We arrived in Tui by train to Valencia and found a cab quickly to take across the River and border to Tui. The hotel is beautiful, with lots of space, and amenities. After checking in and receiving our pilgrim passports we made our way to the town square for dinner. The hotel is a short two block walk to a friendly and many options for dining. Our room was on the first floor and spacious, comfortable and peaceful. Large bathroom with walk-in shower along with all we needed to be ready for our walk to Santiago. Breakfast in the morning offered everything we might want and the coffee and pastries devine. With bags packed and placed at the front desk as directed, we gathered our day packs, and set out on the Camino Portuguese that runs right in front of the hotel. I’ll note that the hotel sells a number of nice collectibles and supplies for pilgrims. In hindsight, I wish we had spent a little time looking as the items we found later along our way appeared to be less quality. Thank you to the team at the hotel for making our stay enjoyable and memorable.

The hotel is a wonderful stone building and our room was of a good standard. We arrived on a Sunday so very quiet in Tui. Worth a stay just for the experience of the place. On the Camino route which was good. Like many of the hotels along our route, this hotel certainly added to our overall experience. Would recommend it.

We stayed one night at this gorgeous hotel on our Camino walk. Wished we could stay longer!!! Super friendly, helpful receptionist Rebecca, we loved her! Impeccable, super clean, super comfortable rooms. We booked 3 rooms and I stayed in the room on 3rd floor with fabulous views of the river and mountain. Highly recommend this hotel!

I took a room here in late March of 2023 while doing the Camino with my brother.||Centrally located with a helpful staff and a delicious, ample breakfast this hotel is, in my book, head and shoulders above similarly priced options. ||I especially liked the newly renovated bathroom with a very large personal tub with with ample hot water. Having a cozy, modern bathroom available after a long hike on a cool and damp March day was a BIG plus.||If you have a sense of aesthetics then you will certainly marvel at the fascinating design and construction details of the building as well as the tasteful decoration of the interior. On top of the service and accommodation having an "overnight pass" to drink in the details of this amazing space is icing on the cake. ||Five stars all the way!||Note: The current picture which accompanies this listing (as of 2/27/24) is of the back of the building. At the time of my visit breakfast was served in the anteroom visible at left. The entrance is on the other side of the building on the street.

The hotel was really nice and breakfast was very good and tidy. However, the room I stayed in was really hot and there was no AC only a fan that didnt do the job I wanted. Staff were very friendly :)

Lovely historic building that is kept to a high standard. Great place to start your Camino in Tui. Friendly reception staff, although one lady spoke little English but that was fine as we spoke some Spanish. The hotel was clean throughout. Our room did not have any views as described by other reviewers, but was pleasant enough for a one night stay. We slept well as the hotel was very quiet. A good breakfast was provided and the Wi-Fi signal was great. The hotel is near the centre of Tui, just a short walk to restaurants, historic monuments and the river.
