Dukes Academie Bruges

We stayed for one night as three adults in a triple room, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, enhanced by a subtle scent throughout the lobby. The reception staff were extremely friendly, and we were even offered a chocolate on arrival – a small gesture that made a great first impression. Check-in was quick and effortless.||Our triple room on the first floor overlooked the road and was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly spacious for three adults. We all felt we had plenty of room to move around comfortably. The amenities were excellent, with a coffee machine, bottled water, and everything we needed. The bathroom was also a great size, with a wonderful walk-in shower and high-quality toiletries provided.||Breakfast was another highlight – fresh, plentiful, and very well presented, with a wide variety of options. We were all really impressed.||The only minor downside was an early delivery to the patisserie opposite at around 6am, which woke us briefly, but this is obviously outside the hotel’s control.||Overall, a brilliant stay, and we will definitely return!

We had a lovely stay in a 3 bed family room. Great location and super breakfast. Also top that you have underground parking available. Best of all room was already available when we checked in shortly after 12 o‘ clock. Friendly staff

We have just returned from a 3 night stay, our room was located on the top floor over looking the court yard. |The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the train station or a 4 minute taxi drive away.|The hotel is ideally located on the quieter more peaceful side of town and is a beautiful walk to the main square, where you will see some picturesque shops, churches and views along the way.|The hotel itself is beautiful, and offers a excellent breakfast that is able to accommodate everyone's needs.|The staff are friendly and welcoming.|Our room was a double room with a double bed, we did feel that the bed was on the low side for us. |The bathroom had a shower over the bath which isn't ideal as you need to step into the bath to have a shower, we did find that our bathroom was extremely cold, no underfloor heating, heated towel rail, or radiator and with the weather being so cold it wasn't great. In the summer months I don't think this wouldn't be an issue but with the bathroom being fully tiled and the weather so cold having to use the bathroom wasn't the best experience.|Accessing the room could certainly be an issue for someone with mobility issues as we had to climb some spiral narrow stairs to our room, for us this wasn't an issue but potentially would be for others.|We stayed with another couple and they had chocolates left in their room each day, but we didn't get this, not sure why.|A fridge and a safe was provided in the room.|The room and towels were cleaned daily, and always left spotlessly clean.|Overall we had a pleasant stay and I would potentially return again in the future.

Lovely hotel with nearby attractions. Staff were all lovely and polite breakfast was delicious and our room was specious, elegant and clean. Would recommend this hotel to other people. Thank you for such a welcome stay

This is commonly known by the name Hotel Academie not Dukes Academie. So, it can get really confusing with finding it on your Map App. The address is Wijngaardstraat 7-9, Bruges 8000, Belgium. Very elegant hotel. The room was also elegant. Room 1203 had a beautiful view of roof tops and spires. The breakfast was the biggest I’ve ever seen and had absolutely everything. In in-room safe was huge and could easily fit any size computer and many computers. Everything in the hotel and the rooms was exceptionally new and extremely clean. The room was huge but had very little storage space. There was a lot of empty space where a luggage shelf could fit. We were staying for 4 nights so we asked for luggage racks. They were only able to find one. So, we accessed most of our luggage from the floor for 4 nights. Also, there was no towel dryer so it made rinsing out clothes while traveling, difficult. However, It was the most elegant hotel we stayed in. But it was also the least convenient as far as in room amenities to accommodate travelers (no place to put luggage and no towel warmer rack). It was very conveniently located and relatively close to the train while still being in Old Town. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and very helpful and honest with advice about things to see in the town.

I absolutely loved this hotel. My husband and I stayed here in May 2025, and after researching countless options in Bruges, I kept coming back to this one — and I’m so glad I did. It was worth every penny. The location is unbeatable, and everything about the experience felt special: the beautiful entrance, the stylish cocktail bar, the incredible brunch, the spacious room (this was their basic room too), and the charming outdoor seating areas. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, and if you want to be right in the heart of Bruges, this is the place. We loved every element of our time here and truly hope to return one day!! Bruges stole my heart!

A very well appointed Hotel in a central, but quiet part of Bruges, within comfortable and flat walking distance of everything in the central part of the City. Plenty of shops, restaurants and of course chocolate shops within 2 to 3 minutes!||A very warm and efficient welcome on check in, allocated a very well appointed room which was an upgrade from the type booked. The room was nicely decorated and offered all the services of a full service Hotel with a bath and decent shower over it in the bathroom.||A choice of pillows and a very comfortable bed. A particular irritation of mine is decent Broadband speed, where other Hotels offer low connection speed or charge extra for upgrading. 10 out of 10 for that to the Dukes Academie for providing good Broadband. ||I didn't use the Bar, but it looked comfortable and I'm sure would have been fine if I chose to use it||The breakfast room was light and spacious and the buffet style offer had something for everyone. Although the Hotel has its own park I chose to use the close by Katelijnestraat car park which I have used many times previously with easy access off the City ring road.||Unusually for Hotels I use where something can be less than ideal, I genuinely found this Hotel 'delivering' on every level at competitive prices for Bruges.

Great hotel walking distance from train station and Bruges town centre. Extremely helpful staff, always kind and ready to answer questions about anything related to important sites, landmarks, restaurants. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Overall very positive experience.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was very cold and very late when I arrived and my reservation somehow had not gone through. The woman at the front desk was patient and friendly as I frantically searched my email looking for a confirmation, only to discover I didn't have one. Luckily they still had some rooms left, so she quickly wrung me up and I was on my way to my room. The room was a scrumptiously warm haven and all I wanted to do was fall into the fluffy king bed, but I resisted because I still had to eat, and let's be honest, hunger trumps sleepiness. I was very impressed with the modernity of the room. It had a button-controlled light system installed by the door, the desk, and the bed, with options for dim lighting, table lighting, or full lighting. It was also equipped with two outlets and USB ports, one by the desk and one by the bed. The bathroom was large and accessible - support beams surrounding the WC and a big shower with two wide doors. Not sure if they're all like that, but I was digging the big shower! It was also extremely quiet. Needless to say, I slept wonderfully and wish I could have stayed another night!

Definitely an excellent option. It's a four stars hotel with fantastic cost benefit! Lovely hotel conveniently located within a walking distance from the main tourist attractions and restaurants. Clean and comfortable bedrooms, small in size as expected but with a big modern bathroom. My son had fun in the bathtub. Delicious breakfast, hot meals, fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh bread and croissants. The elevator is a must have for families with a stroller.

This place is a very welcomed respite for this wearily traveling couple. We arrived around 11am and the room was not ready, as I had guessed considering check in is at 3. They locked our luggage up for us to save us from toting the bags around town and gave us some welcomed dining tips. The hotel has a boutique like atmosphere and some unorthodox floor plans but was beautiful and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our welcome and our stay.

Great stay, a little tricky driving around the tiny streets to get to it and ended up using a different parking house as I think would probably would of killed some tourists trying to get into the parking. Host on the desk was impeccable, welcoming and organized (also gave the baby a toy rabbit so that's a huge plus). Room was decent size and comfortable, we all slept well. Great for sight seeing as it's right in the Centre near enough. Will definitely use again now we know how to traverse the city better.

This is a great find during our trip to Brugge. Very centrally located to the boat rides, Grote Markt, and the shopping area. Plus several small tearooms across the street or less than two blocks away so there many breakfast options in morning (also there was breakfast offered at the hotel for 12€). Its located about a 15 min walk from the train station. So we took a taxi (with luggage) for about 10€. The room was very nice, felt like it had just been renovated or redone, and very spacious. The only negative for me was the shower - maybe there is a trick I don't know but could not get the shower head to stay up - kept sliding down to waist level.. weird! But overall, a great option when you are staying in Brugge!

Very clean and spacious rooms. Affordable and centrally located. Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Reception was wonderful, and answered all our questions. The clerk on duty, Thomas, was just awesome. Have us clear directions and a wonderful restaurant recommendation (my next rave review). We will be back in Bruges, a fabulous town, and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!!

Very good location, right next to the lake of love and less than a ten minute walk from seemingly anywhere. Rooms are updated and quaint, breakfast is AMAZING! Staff is nice and helpful! The only complaint I have is the parking! If you have anything larger than a compact, consider parking elsewhere. The parking garage has tiny spaces with cement poles in between making for a hairy experience trying to park without completely wrecking your rental car. I would suggest taking the train here from the airport to avoid car troubles all together. Once you're in Brugges, everything is accessible by foot or other means of transportation.

A first rate hotel, complete with close proximity to everything in town, comfortable, stylish rooms, and a superb breakfast. My girlfriend and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Never disappointed when visiting Bruges. The hotel and staff take good care of their guests. The location is near everything you would want to see and is within a short walk. Also there is a grocery market just around the corner. Parking can sometimes be hard to locate but this hotel has their own garage. But if they are full there is a parking garage just around the corner. Bottom line, you just can't go wrong with Hotel Academie

We really enjoyed our stay, it was a very good price with an even better location. Parking was an additional 20 euro a night, which was an added convenience. The staff was very helpful. The room was a bit small, but very clean and had everything you would need. Was a great find, and the ten minute walk to the city square made it even better.
