This review is focused more on the pool, poolside bar, restaurant and beach than the hotel itself. The hotel is small by comparison to others in the area and in an average state of decline comparable to others in this price range. The pool area which is accessible to the public for a fee is a rare find. Or around 600 pesos you can access the pool, changing and restrooms and have poolside food and drink service from the restaurant adjacent to the pool. They offer a great breakfast buffet on certain days and daylong snacks, sandwiches, seafood and steak. I stay with my in-laws in Acapulco so this place as quickly become my go to. Clean and well kept pool, great drinks poolside and food at anytime you like. Want to hop over to the beach for some time in the surf? No problem there’s direct access to Tabasco beach. Maybe the best way to spend the day in Acapulco if you’re not staying at a nice hotel that offers these amenities. Highly recommended by this guide!!

We arrived 5 weeks after hurricane Otis hit Acapulco and the hotel we usually stay at was closed. We found this gem and the rooms are spacious, it has balconies for 4 chairs and a small table; and the restaurant serves delicious food.

This is an older Hotel so it lacks some things that you come to expect from a beach Hotel. However, I liked it because the location was perfect and the pool is very nice; right on the beach. I also like that they let you bring your own beer into the pool area which keeps costs down. Also, the Hotel offers some free beach chairs which offers a nice change of pace from the pool. It is a bit like a poor man's resort but it does have the feel of a resort. Our room also had a fantastic view of the ocean which was fabulous...

A very relaxing few days in the Malibu. Very friendly and attentive staff. A great pool right on the beach. Be careful if you want to swim in the sea here. Always check with locals first to see if it is safe as it can get rough. There are other beaches here where the swimming is safer than here. I like the area, lots of restaurants and banks and supermarkets. The room was spacious and had an individual aircon unit ( good in times of Covid) and fridge. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Their restaurant, Tabasco Beach, was very good for lunch and evening meals. Try the camarones al Coco! I found their breakfast prices a bit high but I decided to go there most days just for the convenience. The hotel was so nice I wanted to stay longer as it was so relaxing.

The room was great, I rented 3 rooms and all 3 of them had a wonderful view out to the sea. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Specially the 2 security guards at the door and the housekeeper. The hotel is small and might need a bit of an update and def need to add a coffee maker, I ended up buying one at a near by Walmart and a bigger tv but besides that the rooms were nice and big. The restaurant prices are decent and the morning traditional breakfast was awesome!! (loved the lady making the hand made sopes) Location wise it was great because it's located almost about halfway from all of the beaches and major touristic attractions. Def recommended and will return.

My experience in Acapulco located in Mexico, was very nice and interesting, for the beaches and the attention in the hotel. It was very fun for the different attractions and the different places, the people with whom we had the opportunity to talk were very kind and respectful. My trip was with my family, we visited many places, restaurants where the food was very tasty and had a great variety of dishes, our stay at the hotel was very nice for the service that the hotel gave us, it had a great view and the place was very quiet, and we liked the rooms very much and the location of the hotel was very good. It was a great adventure and I would recommend it very much, for the different tourist places that Acapulco has, as well as the hotels and restaurants for their great service.

Definitely the most important value of this hotel are the employees . They do their best to give a very good service But it’s an old hotel. They must improve the bathrooms . I stay 2 nights in S1 level in handicap rooms. But my room was close to the restaurant and the restaurant shift star early in the morning so I weak up at 6am . I had a view ocean but also view restaurant so I could never open the curtains . I stay in that room because my mother use a stroller to walk I ask for other room at sixth floor. All was good but the bathroom is not easy to use for a person like my mother who is 94 years old. There is an step about 45 cm deep to enter to the shower. I ask to change the room but they told me that all the rooms has that kind of shower. The hotel is near the beach and the pool was good. All the staff are very gently. At 11:40 PM a heard a huge noise , I open my window and I saw a man with a machine very very noisy walking among the cloud of insecticide. It’s incredible they use that kind of machine to spread the insecticide. Recommended for a low budget. it’s clean and is a beach hotel

This hotel should be a national monument, given its architecture. Most likely it was built during the 1960s, and it features three rotunda towers, none of which are more than six stories high (essentially the perfect size for a hotel; developers take note!!!). Surrounded on both sides by abominable and shabbily-constructed high-rises, the Acapulco Malibu is an absolute gem in the rough. Each room, from what I could gather, has its own balcony, is rather astonishingly spacious, and has a floor to ceiling mirror next to the bed...which is SO '70s fabulous it's...beyond belief! On the whole, service was excellent, the restaurant food was adequate, and noise levels a bit high (but by no means extreme). The pool was absolutely delicious -- perfect water temperature, cleanliness, shape and size...AND the deck overlooks glorious Acapulco Bay. BEAUTIFUL! The price when I stayed was a leetle high, however, given the fact that Acapulco is such a rat hole of a city. Sure, it's not Tulum and it's not Tijuana, but it's still fundamentally a consumerist hellscape with miles of barrios surrounding its core.
