I was disappointed with the value for money at Ad Hoc Monumental. For the price I paid, the facilities felt outdated and not up to standard. I had stayed at Catalonia Excelsior for less, and it was noticeably better.
The room was very small, with awkwardly placed old-style electrical outlets and no designated space for luggage—mine ended up on the floor. The amenities were minimal: a kettle with two teabags, no coffee, no creamers, and no minibar. On top of that, I was woken up around 1:30 a.m. by loud noises from what sounded like the neighboring room taking a shower—walls are thin, and sound carries easily.
While the hotel has a quaint and charming look, it also feels quite worn, and I think the price should reflect that. I also had an issue with the TV, and although a staff member said they’d come help, no one ever showed up. The location is cute, but overall, I didn’t feel it was worth the cost.
Oh, yeah- and the bed, though comfortable, felt super rickety. Felt afraid I’d break it!
