Hotel Adler in Stein am Rhein was our second stop for the Missus and I along with our Westcoast Canadian cycling group. We found the hotel very clean and centrally located. Our bikes were stored in a safe and secured garage. The husband and wife owners were very hospitable and helpful with questions regarding the area. The breakfast wasn’t the largest selection but was more than adequate to provide us fuel to our next destination around Lake Constance.

We went to Stein am Rhein for the Christmas Market and medieval artisan market and when searching for a hotel this looked very nice and centrally located. The hotel was nicely done, apparently renovated in recent years, check in was smooth and painless, our room was very cosy and the bathroom was very nicely equipped. Our experience with the owners was simply wonderful, Silvia and Volkmar are truly nice people, we could not have felt more welcome or appreciated. We will definitely be back in Stein am Rhein and will book a room at the Adler, I would Highly recommend the Adler and if I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I had a great time staying in Hotel Adler. My room was located on the 3rd floor with beautiful view on Burg Hohenklingen, it was clean, spacious, bed is comfortable. The friendly host and the delicious breakfast with wide range of options even improved my good impression. I definitely recommend this place.

Silvia and Volkmar are the best hosts imaginable!! You can feel that they are not only experienced, but also put love and caring into what they do. The hotel is located right in the center of the old town. They also provide their indoor garage to park and charge our E-Bikes.

No idea why it was rated 3.3 but it definitely deserve much more than that. Parking was convenient, just outside hotels with marking lots. Street parking is 1.50CHF For 1 hour with free parking from 18:00 to 08:00. Receptionist was lovely and friendly! Breakfast cost 15CHF each and there is a lift up, with more than 50 Over rooms in the hotel. Room was spacious and immaculately clean. Toilet had free shampoo and sewing /shoe polish kits. they had fan in the room in case weather is hotter here. 30secs walk to the main square and conveniently located in the middle of the old town. All in all, a very perfect place to stay.

Please avoid this hotel. The hotel interior looks like a student dormitory and the hotel manager is hostile and extremely rude. I am perplexed by comments suggesting that the reception was kind. Perhaps German speakers are treated differently or maybe they did not have the misfortune of encountering this wretched woman (Edith Günter). If you do book this hotel, which I strongly advise against, be sure to check in between 3pm and 6pm. Despite the lack of warning on any website, Ms Günter will threaten to not let you check in (despite having paid) if you arrive any later regardless of individual circumstances. This is what she did with us and based on the reviews, we are not alone. The location is good. Although at 190 chf per night, you pay a heavy price for it. Also, the hotel does not meet the established 3 star rating criteria.

Unfortunately I have to give one star, otherwise I can't review. Worst place I have ever been! Because of change of owner the standards have been lowered. The paid staff was friendly but not to be considered with the owner. The food was bad quality and and was obvious it was prepackaged. After the Microwave bell had rang the food was served. After complaining for the bad quality and high price range we got verbally attacked by the owner. In total the staff is aware of the problem, but with a delusional owner this restaurant will go down in history! (The egal hits the ground) Keep away for own safety!
