Hôtel Agora Swiss Night by Fassbind

Perfect place to stay centrally in Lausanne. Quiet area but just a couple blocks walk to the metro and a few more past the train station to reach additional restaurants and shopping. I liked the neighborhood for a morning coffee with pastry on my way to adventures like walking through vineyards. Access to the boats for a trip on Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) was a nice walk, or short meto ride using the metro card that is provided (covered by a tourist tax you pay for each night at the hotel). Be sure to ask for the metro card, because I didn't see that right away. Trains to other towns along the lake are just a couple blocks walk. I wish the upstairs breakfast room was open at night for reading quiety with a view.

Great location super close to the metro and train station. Our room was clean and comfortable (we thought the beds and pillows were super nice). The air conditioning worked great and the room was quiet. The only strange part was the bathroom walls which make privacy a bit difficult. The internet was fast and the fitness/sauna area is very nice. The staff were friendly and let us check in a little early and store our luggage for a few hours before we got our train to Geneva. We didn’t go to the breakfast but did go upstairs for the view and it was very pretty.

I stayed for two nights in this stunningly beautiful hotel. The location is perfect two minutes walk from the train station and metro. There is a rooftop restaurant, breakfast was more than plentiful, you can cook your own eggs and try many types of cheese. Room are comfortable with all the necessary amenities.

This is a personal experience. Your mileage may vary. The staff was okay. Doing their job - not super hospitable but friendly. The rooms are a bit unfortunate, since you can see inside the bathroom from within the room. Also, if you're uncomfortable if your travel partner hears you poop, you might want to tell them to pop in their earbuds and listen to some music while you're going number 2. The walls are pretty thin and the doors to the rooms don't block much sound either. We could hear the neighbor shower and some lady down the hall wasn't telling her kid to keep it quiet, so we could hear the child all morning. Clean rooms, great location, nice water pressure. Okay for one night. Oh. And after we checked in, a staff member knocked and opened the door right away. We had to shout that we just took a shower and hid behind the bed. She immediately closed the door again, but what was that about?

This was the perfect hotel for a solo trip to Lausanne. The single room was perfect for just me, the amenities were great, and it was a 7 minute walk from the train station. Super easy to find, in a great location, and perfect when you don't need a big fancy room just for yourself. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is good and the AC worked, but beyond that, this hotel has a lot of problems. ||1. Room smelled strongly of stale smoke |2. Stains on the carpet in the rooms|3. Most concerning, we were on the left side of the building which closely faces apartments, and shortly after arriving we discovered a man who was hiding behind the shutters of his flat but peeping on the rooms from the other building attempting to watch us change. We alerted the front desk that we did not feel comfortable or safe and asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel but were told they were full and could not switch our rooms. I realize this is an issue somewhat out of the hotel’s control, but if you’re reading reviews and considering this hotel, please know that if you book here you may have a man watching you and the hotel may not make any effort to help you.

LOCATION is amazing! Train and metro stations are walking distance. Lots of places to eat. Service and cleanliness of the room were great too. What we didn’t like: 1) We tried to have breakfast once but changed our minds. The hostess was not that nice to us. They seemed to have an egg station (I thought) so I asked for two omelets, and she answered: “This is it what we have” and showed me an almost empty container with leftover scrambled eggs and a couple of sausages. Definitely not at all appetizing. They also had some cereals and fruits that didn’t look that fresh. Obviously, we left without trying it. We don’t understand why in the room they don’t put any kind of body lotion, or hair conditioner, like every other hotel in the world. That just have a tube labeled “shampoo” that is supposed to serve as body wash(?). This “lemongrass” shampoo was very abrasive for hair and skin. The towels were extremely old and rough

Great hotel with good value for money close to the train stations and at walk distance of restaurants, bars and convenient stores. Very clean room and bathroom, friendly staff and breakfast with view of the lake. Around 800m from the lake (downhill). Prepare yourself for some cardio uphill if you enjoy (or take the metro back). :)

I spent one night there - it was somehow ok for the price. The Hotel looks quite seventies - but really from the seventies ;-) Great location close to the main station and not far from the lake in the middle of the town. Rooms could be definitely a little bigger. Service is quite poor. Officially a 4 star hotel - I would only give 3 stars max. breakfast not recommended - especially not for the 20 CHF!

Pros: Nice rooms, decor, and breakfast. Great location. Cons: Terrible internet speed/wi-fi signal. I've been to this place 4 years ago and recently - the internet still sucks.

Centrally located (metro, lake Geneva, dining). I was pleasantly surprised at how neat and clean this place is... Stay nowhere else!

Good pillows, great ac, close to the port, good wifi. Skip the breakfast honestly, not super worth it. Great staff.
