We were on our 7th visit here but our first Christmas. As always check in was good, room clean, tea, coffee, milk and water in the room. We had requested our usual pool view room on the top floor and were not disappointed. Everywhere was beautifully festive and decorated lovely. You get a free safe, good fridge, unlimited waters (big and small) on the AI which i highly recommend as you can have branded drinks aswell as local drinks. After evening meal ends there is food put out until midnight in an area of the restaurant where you can go in and help yourself and take it to your room, outside or in the entertainment lounge, this includes pizza, chips, burgers, sandwiches, crisps, cakes and other hot foods. You can request bottles of wine, cava to take to your room restaurant or entertainment lounge but sensibly no glass outside. Christmas day was well organised, lunch was on extended times and tables beautifully decorated including santa hats. A varied Christmas day menu, including turkey, sprouts etc and xmas pud. I had lobster, prawns and paella which was lovely. Special festive soups looked delicious. A table was laid up with Christmas goodies, chocolates etc. On other days the food was excellent, hot and a lot of choice plenty of seafood, fish and paella too which I love. Breakfast loads of choice eggs however you like them, English and Spanish bacon, hash browns, even black pudding amongst everything else. Continental, cereals, fruit etc. Ideal location in old town, near beach, restaurants, bars, tapas alley dove park etc. New town/strip about 25 mins walk, 8 € in taxi. If is age 16 plus, smaller hotel, 6 floors, staff excellent, special call out for Pilar, used to be on reception but now manager, always makes a fuss of us a d Christmas day ran very smoothly mainly because of her. Glass panels in the room can be bumped into easily, we take 4 suction hooks to stick on bed side, means we can hang cardis, jackets on as well as making it visible. Separate toilet has a blue sliding door which you can't see through. Spare pillows an blanket in wardrobe, we even had heating through the air con in December. Admittedly entertainment could be improved but we were out walking most nights and back for a night cap. Pablo Bloom and the Sunday night duo were fab, can't remember their name, they sang Christmas afternoon too. Please put mugs or China cups back in the rooms as paper cups are not acceptable for a 4 star, we take 2 cups up from the dining room for our stay. Housekeeping, clean bedding and towels are spot on. Sunbeds in summer are a bit hard to get, but we don't stress, they have 2 other sunbathing areas or we head to the beach. Beautiful huge park to walk in directly behind the hotel which stages events, concerts etc. The Christmas stalls, fun fair, ice rink, shows there were so pretty and festive. We are returning in April with 4 family members and can't wait. We prefer pool view rooms high up to see the pool and watch the world go by. Park view rooms can be noisy if an event in the park and overlook a busy road. There are some superior larger rooms on the ground floor, with astroturf and sunbeds.
