Hotel Akureyri

We loved our 5 night stay at Hotel Akureryi in late January. The outstanding staff made us feel welcome and helped us celebrate our getaway well. We enjoyed walking around the city and spending time in the inviting, candle-lit lobby during the day. Our dinner at North was an amazing experience. Between the meals, conversations, ambience, and location, we felt liked we had stepped into a warm and old-school hotel experience. We miss being there already and look forward to staying there again.

Great reception hall. Old school classy and beautiful. The perfume diffuser is a bit too strong though. Rooms are on the small side. We had the sea view room. The view is lovely. The room is basic. Great for maybe one or two nights but not for longer stay (due to size). Nice breakfast.

The hotel offers a cozy and comfortable stay with a perfect blend of modern amenities and Nordic charm. Located in the heart of Akureyri, the hotel provides stunning views of the surrounding fjords and easy access to local attractions. The staff is very warm and hospitable.

Stayed for a week. lovely hotel. Parking easy. Position perfect for town and airport. Clean and comfortable with great staff and a cordon bleu restaurant . The Rooms are immaculate, beds firm but very comfortable. High class soaps in en suites. Room service excellent and breakfasts are superb (But do not expect yer full fryup UK heart attack job!!) Nice bar with a large pool table. Music selection all 1930 to 2020. Warm, classy decor. |Loved it and would return at the drop of a hat!!!|Great....

Fabulous location, breakfast and lounge area. Comfortable bed with separate duvets. Good kettle, tea, coffee and Nespresso machine. TV very few channels and signal inconsistent. Our double room had beautiful sea views, but was very small with almost no storage for clothes and shoes.

Really convenient hotel- 3 minutes walk from town centre. Beautiful views across the fjord, really cosy lounge and friendly, welcoming staff. The breakfast is perfect- don’t miss the cinnamon buns. |Only downside was the lack of storage space- we didn’t unpack our suitcase as there was nowhere to put our stuff. |Otherwise such a great find.

Great hotel, staff were fantastic. Room lovely. Hotel is situated between the old and new town so easy to get around. Set on the side of the fjord it’s quick to the airport too. Will be returning.

We love it! This nice and stylish hotel comes as a mix of retro and urban design. Cozy and simply perfect. The people operating the hotel are so gentle. Everything there is made with love. Vegan breakfast was delicious. One of the nicest stays ever. Takk.
