Where to Stay in Pichilemu, the Undiscovered Tulum of Chile | Vogue

"With 12 private bungalows and floor-to-ceiling views of the Chilean coastline, a stay atHotel Alaiaensures you’re in the heart of the town’s adventurous action. Named after a round-nosed, square-tailed board first used in ancient Hawaii, the property’s organic and sustainable surf roots run deep. Each bungalow features outdoor terraces with access to the Pacific Ocean, an area the property works to preserve, creating harmony between the local community and the natural environment. With its own skate school, rock-climbing boulder wall, and fleet of stand-up paddle boards, Hotel Alaia offers plenty of ways to experience Pichilemu’s natural delights, but you can also find reasons not to leave the hotel, with in-room massages and cozy lobby fireplaces perfect for nightcaps. At the property’s own sea-to-table restaurant, dine on cuisine by chef Juan Morales, who sources organic vegetables, rock fish, and virtually every ingredient from a 60-mile radius. Well positioned near the Colchagua Valley wine region, guests can join winemaker Isidora Aldunate each Friday and Saturday evening (upon request) to taste the area’s plentiful wine varietals." - Michaela Trimble

One of my favorite hotels in the world. We initially booked 1 night and ended up staying 2 weeks! Nothing like waking up to perfect ocean views, hearing the waves from bed, and meandering to the lodge to sit by the fire and enjoy breakfast with fresh vegetables picked that day from the garden across the road. Then finish your day with a walk to watch sunset and world class surfing followed by a wood-fired hot tub on the beach. The staff are lovely, the location is perfect. Just book already.

Great place! The hotel is very good, staff very gentle, polite, proactive. They have several activities for the people staying there, like surfing, climbing, skating, and others. It is a great place to go with friends, family, kids, work, etc. Important to mention that they have classes for all those activities and the sea/beach is part of the World Surf League. Everything is great about this place. The rooms are incredible and have a direct view to the ocean, large rooms, showers very good. The food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) was great and with several options. They also had many drink options. One super cool tour that they have is a visit to a brewery named Viejo Lobo, five minutes walk by foot. If you are going to the hotel, make sure to ask them about this visit, because it is great. If I have the chance, I will go back there because there are many things to do and see and all worth it.

Beautiful luxury rooms that give you ocean view to wake up to. Quick walk to the beach and to Punta de Lobos. Top notch staff who were extremely hospitable and genuinely cared about their guests (shout out to Karla and Ello!). The included breakfast and restaurant options were also very good. 10/10 recommend and will come back again.

Absolutely amazing place to decompress. The views, the rooms, the attention to detail and kindness of the staff was top notch. ||We loved watching the waves roll in and out. Best sleeps ever!||Yoga with Sophia was a great addition! The hot tubs were such a fun way to spend family time.||Maybe a bit more of variety / changing the menu every few days as it got a bit redundant.
