Hotel Albani

We really enjoyed our stay here! Staff was kind and helpful. If you are used to staying in hostels then this place will rise above your expectations. Clean bathrooms and rooms. Definitely recommend!

Parking is NOT free nor available as advertised… and when asked, the university parking (28 CHF/day) is suggested, or street parking 1+ km away. Entrance is through the bar, stair case is short and steep, rooms were hot but the windows opened. Shared spaces are not amazing but the room was clean. Smart TV is the only other plus.

Hotel is in the centre of Winterthur, and is clearly a sideline to the main business which is a bar/ music centre. I was there midweek and unlike other reviewers did not find it too noisy. In fairness the hotel cheap (for Switzerland anyway) but I had failed to notice that it was a shared bathroom (and loo) shared amongst the five rooms on each floor. The staff were friendly enough but the room was both basic and tired(albeit clean), and there simply isn't enough to say that I could wholeheartedly recommend it. The shared bathroom (especially if you have been to the bar in the night and need to get up) is a pain in the neck.

Depends on what kind of staying you are looking for in this hotel. If you are tired and exhausted and need to sleep in the night and leave next day early, it is the worst decision ever. Rooms are clean but nothing from kitchen works. So I highly recommend you to be careful. Also if you have car, there is no offerings for parking.

The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms clean. WiFi didn't work for me, well only for a few minutes if my 12 your stay. Was there for one night on a business trip. Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Since I had to get up early the next morning a great choice, the party guest waked me at 3:40 a.m. with very loud music and talking and made sure I wouldn't snooze off again. It was a intern party and the was asked to join but I rather tried to sleep 😌 No parking available at the hotel.

Hotel is located in Winterthur's old town, about 5 minutes by foot from the train station. We chose this hotel based on the price (CHF 95.--) and to the fact that the first Winterthur-Zurich Airport train left at 04:44, arriving at 05:01 at the airpot (for a 06:20 flight). Winterthur is about 16 minutes by train from the airport.||||Bedroom was located above a bar/club, on the 4th floor. No elevator, keep this in mind when carrying big suitcases. (Maybe they can keep suitcases downstairs??) Clean rooms and (shared) bathrooms. The room was fairly quiet in regards to bar/club, however, a bit noisy with open windows (people walking by, church bells, etc). ||||Tips: check-in your bags the night before if your airline offers this service. Light sleepers should bring earplugs if sleeping with open windows.||||Simple, clean hotel recommended for its cheap price and access to early trains going to Zurich Airport.
