We loved Evora! We drove from the Algarve to the town (about 2.5 - 3hours) of a olive-tree and mountain range scenery which was stunning! We stayed at Albergaria Do Calvario hotel in Evora which was right off one of the main, exterior roads so super easy to find. This is a boutique hotel - so a smaller/quiet vibe. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — greeting us with cookies and water in the room and a pre-chilled room to help us settle in comfortably because it was 38 degrees that day.||The room was incredibly spacious, with a beautiful separate master bedroom and a separate bed for our child in the living room. We loved the views of the cobblestone streets, and the hotel itself offered so many thoughtful extras: a ibrary, a space to play board games, chess table area, or enjoy wine and cheese, and multiple sitting areas including one with a TV (plus TVs in the rooms, though we barely used them).||Breakfast was excellent — eggs made to order, a generous spread, and friendly service. The staff also recommended one of the best meals we had in Portugal, on a lovely pedestrian only street with lots of options! ||Evora, itself, is a fantastic town, full of charm and history, and our only regret is not staying longer. We saw the Bone Chapel, the Temple of Diana, and Cathedral. Unfortunately because it was a short visit, we missed our opportunity to go to the museum. However, 30mins away (plus about a 30 min hike) is the Cromlech's which were cool. if anyone is looking to go to Evora, this hotel was warm, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend! Will stay at this chain or this hotel again.

What a hotel! An old olive mill in the castle walls! So beautifully restored, domed ceilings, beautiful furniture, large comfortable beds. We were upgraded and the room was a very good size. We loved the patio area where we had breakfast every morning (very good breakfasts, everything you could want) and a drink every evening. Such a quiet location. Evora itself is a wonder with the cathedral, churches, friezes & of course the chapel of bones….parking underground for about 10 cars no problem.

Well located hotel within walking distance of all the main attractions that Évora has to offer. Staff are excellent and attentive, bar is just what you need at the end of the day. Parking is underground, so could be tricky depending on how many guests are already there and roadside parking is limited. Breakfast choice was average, didn't have any other meals at the hotel so cannot comment regarding the options or quality. Overall a nice hotel that did exactly what it needed to do.

Great location inside the city wall but easy to find and drive to with underground parking available by request. Older style accommodation with meals available and good size rooms. Staff are friendly and attentive. Elevator for upper floors and carpark makes life easy. Courtyard ideal for dining and/or a quiet drink or read.

Hotel Albergaria do Calbvario - BEAUTIFUL! The hotel staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful with any questions or concerns. The property is lovely and a short walk to very nice restaurants and the town square. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was a small but plentiful buffet and you can order omelettes/cooked eggs.||We were supposed to have a Walking through Evora for Private Half day tour -this did not happen because of miscommunication through the service company and tour guide. The Guest Service person at the hotel heard our conversation and got us a better tour (not walking in the heat) to see the same landmarks. That’s service! He saved the day!

I would not recommend this hotel. The man receiving you was not polite. You need to pay 10 euros a day to park but if you leave during your stay, it does not guarantee you will have a spot when you return. The breakfast was OK but nothing special. You had to give them a time because they have limited seating. |The rooms were old, which I expected and the bathrooms tiny. The tile floors are in need of replacing in the rooms and in the hallways. See picture.

This is a very nice hotel right inside the wall. It has a great location to all the sites in the old city. The room was of good size. The bathroom was also good size and had a tub. The bed was huge - king size I guess! The breakfast is extensive - fruit, meats, juice, tea/coffee, cake bread, jams, and made to order eggs and pancakes.||While I am not sure about all the rooms, but one definitely needed to walk up stairs to get to the room. Just fyi for those that may not be able to do stairs. ||The breakfast is good but I’m not sure if the coffee machine was the best choice. The machine required one user at a time to pick the type of coffee they want and then wait for it to be made. At our breakfast, there seemed to be an issue with the coffee machine which caused a backup. That finally got fixed. I wanted hot water for tea but had to wait for the coffee people to get theirs. Perhaps having another machine or option would be good. Finally, I was done with my breakfast by the time they asked me if I wanted eggs or pancakes so there might be a service issue happening. ||While there was a coffee maker in the room, there was only one teabag for the two of us. I guess they are more used to coffee drinkers. We got tea from the bar but it would have been nice to just have tea in the room. ||We took an uber from the train station. It was like 6 minutes. We walked to the bus station. That took 15-20 minutes - better to walk right outside the wall because it has better surface.

Yelp
This was our favorite hotel in Portugal! It was charming--just like the city itself. We arrived at night, and were greeted with a welcome drink and led to a charming, soothing living area. There, Miguel walked us through the city's highlights and made a dinner reservation for us. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view outside. The complimentary breakfast was incredible! A mix of cold and made to order options that were all superb. I enjoyed local produce, including figs, pumpkin jam, bee pollen, yogurt, eggs, and bacon. The omelette was delicious, as were the pastries. Later in the day, we enjoyed a lovely lunch while sitting at their outdoor patio area. Such a perfect little place in a charming city! We can't wait to return and spend more time here.

Yelp
Lovely. Never have had such a personal and informative welcome! Michelle offered us a drink and sat with us as she gave us the highlights of the town... then dinner suggestions and a dinner reservation. The rooms were comfortable. The public places are charming and lit by candles in the evening. Breakfast was amazing and included.

Yelp
This small hotel, while hard to find on the tiniest of streets, is perfectly located for restaurants. Parking is right underneath the hotel. Very special is the lovely enclosed outdoor dining area for breakfast. Many options in the complementary breakfast. Rooms were small but clean and super comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

Yelp
You won't find a better hotel inside the city walls of Évora. You will be hard pressed to find a better place in most of Portugal. The staff are customer focused, the breakfast is amazing, complete with locally baked delights, local cheeses, meats, and fruits. They make one of the beat grilled cheese sandwiches you will ever have. and there is Sagres on tap in the bar.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel with the friendliest and most attentive staff you could imagine. They speak multiple languages so it is easy to ask questions and get restaurant reservations. The suite we had was huge. The stay includes a great breakfast and free valet parking in an underground garage. I think they have thought of ever detail to ensure a perfect stay. The city of Évora is very nice and interesting to visit, as is the countryside around Évora. There are fantastic restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend a visit to Évora and staying at Albergaria do Calvario for anyone planning a trip to Portugal. We stayed here for 5 nights in of June 2017.

Yelp
Fantastic experience at this hotel! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Provided excellent suggestions for restaurants and sights. The breakfast was spectacular. Great room with outstanding water pressure in the shower! Can't wait to come back.
