Staff was amazing. John also known as Joa put out above and beyond expectation, helping me deal with a crisis. Left my passports at a different hotel, and he was able to arrange to get my passport sent to my final location in time for my flight back to the United States. He was helpful, relaxed, and felt it was just his obligation to help. I thanked him for helping me with this difficult situation and relieving my stress. The food was excellent breakfast service, etc. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Évora. . I highly recommend this hotel. And thanks to John for excellent service

Located just inside the city walls of Evora. The hotel is close to everything Evora has to offer. The hotel offers parking (10Euro/day). Parking is on site underground, it’s a tight space but accessible. There is a nice lounge and patio, bar and food/snack service are available 24/7. rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bath is roomy with a shower/tub combination. There are no safety rails to give a hand hold while climbing in and out of the tub to bath. Many travelers are older and this combination of shower/tub is challenging, safety rails would be a real plus. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. There is an elevator. A solid choice when staying in Evora.

Stayed here on night Sept 2025|Breaking it down:|Location. Just inside the old city walls. Great place to visit the entire old city area. So would say almost fantastic, except when renting a car it is a little tight getting into and out of the hotel parking area. Speaking of which...|Parking. For 10 Euros per night you can park in the underground single level parking area. Talk about tight parking and turns, but at least there was a solution. Parking in general is hard in old town. We held our breaths and fortunately no dings on the car.|Room: Was up one level on the elevator but then about a dozen steps up a smaller staircase, requiring us to heft our heavy luggage a little. We are in good shape but if we weren't this would have been somewhat difficult. We did have a view out a small window. Room itself was spacious and nice. Good shower, bed, pillows etc. |Staff. They were not always available in the lobby and just basically helpful as needed. So will reduce the rating partially on this. |Continental breakfast. Very nice, with many options even without ordering eggs to be made separately. |Overall just a good choice but if you want a more upscale experience you may want to shop.

Room bedding was clean, but the floors and couches were kinda dirty. Or maybe just really old and grungy and need of replacing and a good cleaning. We had a suit and it was huge! Shower and bathroom was clean- even came with a bidet. Bed was very comfortable and felt so big for a king size. Great location to get to church of bones, palace, church, columns ruin, and other places. Breakfast was so so. You could order eggs how you liked them and pancakes were good. Other than that, wasn’t that good. The croissants were the kind I would make out of a can at home (not as good as Pilsburry)

We loved Evora! We drove from the Algarve to the town (about 2.5 - 3hours) of a olive-tree and mountain range scenery which was stunning! We stayed at Albergaria Do Calvario hotel in Evora which was right off one of the main, exterior roads so super easy to find. This is a boutique hotel - so a smaller/quiet vibe. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — greeting us with cookies and water in the room and a pre-chilled room to help us settle in comfortably because it was 38 degrees that day.||The room was incredibly spacious, with a beautiful separate master bedroom and a separate bed for our child in the living room. We loved the views of the cobblestone streets, and the hotel itself offered so many thoughtful extras: a ibrary, a space to play board games, chess table area, or enjoy wine and cheese, and multiple sitting areas including one with a TV (plus TVs in the rooms, though we barely used them).||Breakfast was excellent — eggs made to order, a generous spread, and friendly service. The staff also recommended one of the best meals we had in Portugal, on a lovely pedestrian only street with lots of options! ||Evora, itself, is a fantastic town, full of charm and history, and our only regret is not staying longer. We saw the Bone Chapel, the Temple of Diana, and Cathedral. Unfortunately because it was a short visit, we missed our opportunity to go to the museum. However, 30mins away (plus about a 30 min hike) is the Cromlech's which were cool. if anyone is looking to go to Evora, this hotel was warm, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend! Will stay at this chain or this hotel again.

What a hotel! An old olive mill in the castle walls! So beautifully restored, domed ceilings, beautiful furniture, large comfortable beds. We were upgraded and the room was a very good size. We loved the patio area where we had breakfast every morning (very good breakfasts, everything you could want) and a drink every evening. Such a quiet location. Evora itself is a wonder with the cathedral, churches, friezes & of course the chapel of bones….parking underground for about 10 cars no problem.

Google
Well located hotel within walking distance of all the main attractions that Évora has to offer. Staff are excellent and attentive, bar is just what you need at the end of the day. Parking is underground, so could be tricky depending on how many guests are already there and roadside parking is limited. Breakfast choice was average, didn't have any other meals at the hotel so cannot comment regarding the options or quality. Overall a nice hotel that did exactly what it needed to do.

Yelp
This was our favorite hotel in Portugal! It was charming--just like the city itself. We arrived at night, and were greeted with a welcome drink and led to a charming, soothing living area. There, Miguel walked us through the city's highlights and made a dinner reservation for us. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view outside. The complimentary breakfast was incredible! A mix of cold and made to order options that were all superb. I enjoyed local produce, including figs, pumpkin jam, bee pollen, yogurt, eggs, and bacon. The omelette was delicious, as were the pastries. Later in the day, we enjoyed a lovely lunch while sitting at their outdoor patio area. Such a perfect little place in a charming city! We can't wait to return and spend more time here.

Yelp
Lovely. Never have had such a personal and informative welcome! Michelle offered us a drink and sat with us as she gave us the highlights of the town... then dinner suggestions and a dinner reservation. The rooms were comfortable. The public places are charming and lit by candles in the evening. Breakfast was amazing and included.

Yelp
This small hotel, while hard to find on the tiniest of streets, is perfectly located for restaurants. Parking is right underneath the hotel. Very special is the lovely enclosed outdoor dining area for breakfast. Many options in the complementary breakfast. Rooms were small but clean and super comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

Yelp
You won't find a better hotel inside the city walls of Évora. You will be hard pressed to find a better place in most of Portugal. The staff are customer focused, the breakfast is amazing, complete with locally baked delights, local cheeses, meats, and fruits. They make one of the beat grilled cheese sandwiches you will ever have. and there is Sagres on tap in the bar.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel with the friendliest and most attentive staff you could imagine. They speak multiple languages so it is easy to ask questions and get restaurant reservations. The suite we had was huge. The stay includes a great breakfast and free valet parking in an underground garage. I think they have thought of ever detail to ensure a perfect stay. The city of Évora is very nice and interesting to visit, as is the countryside around Évora. There are fantastic restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend a visit to Évora and staying at Albergaria do Calvario for anyone planning a trip to Portugal. We stayed here for 5 nights in of June 2017.

Yelp
Fantastic experience at this hotel! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Provided excellent suggestions for restaurants and sights. The breakfast was spectacular. Great room with outstanding water pressure in the shower! Can't wait to come back.
