"Why book? Offering recently renovated rooms and a location within a block of Albuquerque’s one of the city’s top tourist attractions, the affordable Hotel Albuquerque radiates the city’s Hispanic influences.  Set the scene As the Duke City’s 300-year-old founding neighborhood, Old Town is an epicenter for Albuquerque’s heritage and evolution from a Spanish settlement to a city. (Indigenous peoples predated the Spanish.) Hotel Albuquerque appeals to sneaker-clad guests ready for touring and to name-tagged convention goers taking coffee breaks from the hotel’s ample meeting spaces.  The backstory As an outpost of Heritage Hotels and Resorts 10-strong boutique hotel collection, Hotel Albuquerque captures “Albuquerque Style.” The city’s Spanish founding, territorial era, and history as a tuberculosis sanitarium hotspot influence the hotel’s architecture and décor as reflected in its entry tower, Grand Sala (a cathedral-like lobby with second story windows), and manicured gardens.   The rooms Fresh off a million-dollar, pandemic-era renovation, the 188 guest rooms have new flooring, bathroom fixtures, furniture, and linens. The rooms are Old Town-meets-modern, with leather-look headboards, and concrete black-and-white-tiled bathrooms with glass-doored showers. The high-rise rooms on the north side overlook the city; those on the south side offer views of the Rio Grande and Old Town.  Food and drink In-house restaurant Garduños serves standard New Mexican fare and generously sized margaritas for pool-side sipping, but Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque is a culinary and entertainment standout. The purpose-built, intimate venue presents flamenco performances Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Produced by National Institute of Flamenco musicians and dancers, the shows come a side of sangria and Spanish-style tapas. Book in advance for tables, or a spot on the red velvet banquet, with the best vantage of the stage.  The neighborhood/area Old Town Albuquerque is a must-visit for any traveler. There, centuries-old adobe homes serve as shops, galleries, and restaurants. Kitschy souvenirs and fine art are equally available. Stop in Plaza Don Luis, a more recent neighborhood addition, for a fresh batch of craft breweries, local wine tasting rooms, and contemporary galleries.  The service Hotel service is friendly and prompt. The lobby houses the box office for TourABQ, a multi-faceted guiding company with best-of-the-city tours hosted on a stucco-covered trolley and boozy ghost walks. For families Families can access a handful of adjoining rooms and splash into a large outdoor swimming pool. Several family friendly activities, including Explora science center and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, are within easy reach.  Eco effort Hotel Albuquerque participates in the Clean the World Foundation program, which donates discarded body products from guest rooms to vulnerable people around the globe. It keeps these hygiene supplies out of landfills in the process.  Accessibility Guests with disabilities will find a public spaces ADA compliant and select guest rooms available." - Ashley M. I stayed at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town for a night while in transit between landing in Albuquerque and going onward the following day to Santa Fe. It turned out to be a great choice - the hotel was conveniently located a short car ride from the airport, and in the middle of a redeveloped area which had some great food and drink options for the evening at The Railyard development, a very short walking distance (about a block, without needing to cross any busy streets). I'd heard some stories about hotels in areas of Albuquerque that you wouldn't want to walk around in at night, but this area felt really safe and nice, no vagrants, etc.||The hotel itself was also nice, the interior had a distinctly New Mexico feel, and the staff were friendly. We asked housekeeping to bring us extra pillows and a blanket, and they were quick and friendly. The room itself was very spacious and clean, and felt like it had been recently refreshed or renovated. It isn't the most design-forward hotel room, but it was definitely nice and had some character in the room aesthetic. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The bathroom amenities were pretty lackluster, to be honest.||We tried to go to the hotel's restaurant for a quick dinner, as we were tired from a day of travel, but we were told it was full with a 45-60 minute wait (!) - to be honest, the restaurant looked a bit run down and overpriced, and we ended up walking across the street to the Railyard complex, with its big, modern food hall with tons of great dining options - which I'd recommend highly, and over eating at the hotel.||Also, the value proposition for this hotel felt just ok. Not a rip off, but definitely not a bargain. There were other hotels in the Albuquerque area that looked just as nice in terms of rooms, and a bit cheaper - but those hotels were located in what seemed like less pleasant parts of town. This hotel felt like it was commanding a slight premium for being in a rejuvenated part of town.

The food was delicious and the service was great! Best queso I’ve ever had!|Love the atmosphere. The Santa Fe blue enchiladas with chicken and Xmas were so good I can’t stop thinking about them. The restaurant decor has an authentic feel. Great place for a date or family get together.

The views from room are incredible and the walkability is fantastic, however on our recent stay the bathroom had not been cleaned to our expectations and I agree with prior reviews that the hot water takes a very long time to come on ~5minutes of running water before warmth. Being a pet friendly hotel… there are distinct smells that become noticeable if room is heated, and furniture which shows pet wear, some of these issues just take the “luxury” out of the stay.

I sat at the bar where Terin served me, and she was incredible! Such a cool vibe at the bar, she was attentive, friendly, and the food was very good! She has the warmest, most welcoming smile! The mini tacos on the happy hour menu were tasty, the room was clean, and service was impeccable.

We spent two nights at this hotel and the location is very good only 3-4 minutes walk from the old town. There is no breakfast buffet but the breakfast dishes are quite good. No possibility for cafe latte or other special coffees. We had a room at the 9th floor with a great view of the city. The AirCon is very noisy and that is a problem if you are a light sleeper. Good bar and friendly staff, clean rooms and modern commodities.

Rooms are in dire need of updating. Beds are saggy, we woke up with backaches. We left the shower running for nearly 20 minutes waiting for hot water. The best we got was luke warm. The handicap accessible bathroom in our room was not wheelchair accessible as it was too small. The shower ran out all over the bathroom floor. Just not a nice stay for the expense.

Google
The lobby is pretty but I'm not sure why this is labeled as a 4 star hotel. The rooms are really old and dusty smelling. Musty hallway carpets remind you that this hotel probably needed updating 15+ years ago. Several electric ports did not work. Lobby bathroom was also really embarrassingly old & falling apart. I'm not one for fancy things, but the restroom in itself set the tone for the experience. Staff did not greet guests upon arrival & seemed bored and uninterested. I would not return.

This hotel is for business people, convention goers, and maybe a certain type of leisure travel couple who is in town for a night or three. I wouldn't recommend it for families or self-sufficient travelers. I will give them high marks for the front desk staff and the proximity to Old Town (if you're planning on visiting.) And while the views are nice the rooms aren't anywhere you'll want to spend much time in to appreciate that. They aren't bad, just small and generally average for the price. There was no hot water in the morning due to issues with the boiler (I was offered no compensation and apparently it's a recurring problem from reading other reviews.) The restaurant was... fine: food was middling quality for the high price and understaffed. Certainly not a terrible experience, but personally I'm unlikely to return or recommend it.

Yelp
The hotel Albuquerque was generally a nice place to stay. The location is fantastic for walking around old town and the south facing rooms all have balconies. I enjoyed the lobby and had some posole in the restaurant and it was quite good. The rooms are pretty comfortable but seemed stamped from a holiday inn mold - which isn't bad but it's rather generic for the premises. The bathrooms were nicely remodeled but my sink didn't drain which probably speaks to larger maintenance neglect. All in all, I had a pleasant stay but there is so much opportunity to bring this place up a few notches by elevating the southwest charm in the rooms.

Yelp
I have lived in New Mexico my entire life and I have never had the privilege to tour this hotel. I believe his name was Shane, he gave me a personal tour of the hotel after I'd gone outside to visit the beautiful grounds. Summer must be spectacular and I can see how weddings are held here. There's even a chapel on the property I was there to visit the Qbar but they were closed but apparently they have a great salsa night. The banquet rooms were beautiful, the lighting and decor were unique and beautiful. He explained the types of events that are held there, food options, event information and took me to see the chapel and the beautiful rooms for a bride and groom to get ready in. You supply who you want to marry you. The grounds were gorgeous and they share the huge pool with their sister hotel...Hotel Chaco.

Yelp
Great location in Old Town Albuquerque - walkable to a lot of different restaurants, the Breaking Bad store, and more. The place feels like a great little villa when you're walking in. I think Helene nailed it when she said "Five star location in a 3.5 star hotel," in a previous review - this place feels impressive and elegant, but the rooms themselves are simple, clean, and basic. Nothing extravagant, but sufficient for a comfortable night sleep. Nice touches with complimentary bottles of water they put in the fridge and coffee in the room. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to be in Old Town!

Yelp
I was here for a conference and so both stayed in a room for 3 nights and had meetings and meals in the conference center. Everything was great! The pre-arrival text was nice to get an ETA; I know it's a bot, but still nice to know they were expecting me. My room was ready early which was a bonus. I had time to settle in and clean up some emails before heading out to walk around a bit. The wifi is included in the amenities fee as is parking if you have a car, pool access and things like bottled water. The room was comfortable and clean and the little balcony was nice. I liked the separate dressing area outside the bathroom too. The only thing missing was somewhere comfortable to sit other than the bed...just one straight backed arm chair and the desk chair. The A/C worked well! It was pretty quiet but seems like they have some street racing/burnouts/spinning in the area some nights so if squealing tires will wake you up, bring earplugs. The conference center was the usual with standard tables and banquet style straight backed chairs. The big plusses were that they actually have sufficient bathrooms for big crowds! Yay! No long lines at breaks. Tech seemed to work well, and the food at breakfast, lunch and our receptions was good. They did add a southwest flair with some red and green chili at breakfast which was nice. The wifi was strong enough to handle our whole group! Location is convenient to Old Town and the Albuquerque Museum is literally just the other side of the parking lot. The Sawmill food hall is very close as well along with some other dining options.

Yelp
A large complex situated just an easy stroll away from Old Town Albuquerque. It's more on the upscale side, with large rooms done up in a modern -meets -southwestern style. It's easy to get lost here, between the three restaurants, meeting rooms and pool, but as a place to lay your head it's pretty nice; the front desk staff is super friendly and efficient and my room was clean, spacious, with a comfortable king-size bed, a great balcony overlooking the city and a nice updated shower. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure, lots of towels, a nice sink to wash up in, and even a separate changing area. Flat screen TV was nicely situated and the desk/workstation came in handy, as did the included fridge. The outdoor heated pool is modern and inviting, and the lush grounds are well maintained and lovely to walk around in as well. As for the minuses, I'll say the in-room A/C is annoyingly loud, the hallway decor and rug is looking pretty dated and the smallish gym/fitness room right off the elevators is a joke for a hotel of this size (and the price of the room). Especially when they charge you an extra "resort fee" with no included breakfast. It's a nice property in a sweet location, but I have to deduct a star just for price alone.

Yelp
Can I just say we had an amazing time while staying at the Hotel Albuquerque! We got there as part of a tour group Ohio State University. We found out at dinner that our room had been given to someone else but they were very eager to fix the problem and even offered us a bottle of wine or champagne for our troubles. All of the receptionist at the front desk were friendly, and helpful. The day manager that we met was super friendly and helpful. Checking on us and thanking us for staying every time we saw him. I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt and wish more hotels would have something fun like that related to the area they are in. I especially loved the handmade balloon I won for completing the challenge. Please continue it. If it's not balloon season you could have it related to Old Town, or Petroglyphs, or other area sites. You could even have a kids and adult version. Thanks again for a great vacation. It was well worth the flight from West Virginia.

Yelp
Honestly, the place was so lack luster. No hot water, "smart" TV didn't have internet access, floors were dusty. It's 2024 y'all. Crazy. Advertising yourself as they do and charging prices that they do, it's incongruent with the experience provided.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel .. we were just here for a night but the staff was amazing , the surrounds are mix and beautiful snd the restaurant service and food was fantastic .

Jim H.

Yelp
What a courteous staff! At no time did we feel like we were just annoying tourists passing through. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back!

Dqaniel P.

Yelp
Disappointed. They act like a 5 star hotel but are far from it. A ton of hidden fees, like an extra $20 a day for the pool access and complimentary waters? They include 2, 8 oz waters in your room. Over priced bar, at $9 for a Modelo can. Foods avg at best, very bland and not creative. No drink menu, the bar manager was very irratible, making it clear that someone called in and definitely did not want to be there. Room service doesn't serve during the day but they promote that they do. They offer free valet but nobody was around, finally an employee said just park your car and give the keys to the front desk. Towels were old, hard and rough. The gym is insulting, the front desk recommends you to go to the hotel next door. I will say the staff for the most part was great, but everything else was a joke. I came for a weddib, but was told that everyone apart of the wedding is cut off due to a few individuals that ruined it. A server for the wedding was on her phone on speaker during the speeches. The wedding had over a hundred people but they cut off everyone because of a couple kids? Never considered to base it off the individual, or the fact we paid 20k. Amateur hour, not worth it, hotel isn't high class but they act like it. UNLESS YOU'RE A SENIOR CITIZEN, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. BORING, JUDMENTAL, OVER PRICED, OUTDATED JUST SADD AND LAME

Jeff L.

Yelp
After staying at a Heritage owned hotel in Santa Fe, we expected higher quality accommodations than what we got. Our $400/night room was barren and austere with a motel-style air conditioner that couldn't be adjusted. The tile floor in the bathroom was filthy and worn and the door wouldn't close tight. Very Motel-like. For the same money, you can find better.

Steven E.

Yelp
Stayed 4 nights. One night was sleepless due to a dog barking in the room nearby. Informed the front desk but didn't even receive an apology. Overall the hotel was fine but expected better service.

John D.

Yelp
Unfortunately the events at the hotel are not something independently reviewed. For those who may be interested this review pertains to the Artisan Craft show. For a entry fee you could peruse a large number of vendors selling their handmade wares. Compared to the last similar show pre-COVID this one is huge. Silver Jewelry, jewelry made with stones, candles, paintings and photos. A little something for everyone. We enjoyed the number of vendors and managed to get some Christmas presents. Although today was the last day you might want to watch for next years show.

Tom J.

Yelp
Really awful breakfast. Coffee was lukewarm. They even stole my wife's foaming cleanser from the shower and never returned it. Not worth the money, it's old and dilapidated.

Kym B.

Yelp
POSITIVES:Good, safe area. Very comfortable beds. Beautiful hotel with a great restaurant with a live guitar player for fireplace. Nice gift shop . NEGATIVES: Hair that was not ours in the shower and bathroom sink. Also the bathroom floor was dirty, and the vanity table had what I think was smeared mascara. Maybe the hair belonged to the same person who was messy with her makeup. All I know is they clearly didn't clean the bathroom. I mentioned it to the front desk when checking out and he didn't act like he really cared, and just said while looking down... " Ok - well I'll mention it to housekeeping". Problem is, it's a little too late for us. We had to take a shower and use a sink that we knew wasn't clean prior to us coming in. The fan unit sounded like an airplane flying thru our room. They had robes to use, clearly didn't clean those either because someone's Kleenex and hair tie was in my pocket. That's pretty messed up not to was the robes. Not ok. It was 38 degrees last night and we really wanted the jacuzzi, but we had to walk outdoors to get there. It was dark in some parts, and confusing on where to go. Once we found it - it was nice. No free breakfast No vending machines the only place to buy drinks or snacks is across the street at the Sawmill market, where you will pay $3.85 for a regular can of soda and they close at 9:00pm. Everything is pricey there. So make sure to bring your own hotel room snacks or you are out of luck. They do give you two small bottles of water. Probably to make up with not having a vending machine. We paid $163 and that's with military discount. I feel the price was too high. I also feel that I should of gotten a discount.

DM C.

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel. The grounds are amazing and perfect for events. Great gift shop, pool and across from Sawmill Market make it a gem! Comfy beds with freezing AC and blackout curtains , cute bathrooms make the rooms ideal for weary travelers in desperate need of washing the plane ride off and catching up on sleep.

Courtney B.

Yelp
I stayed at the establishment for two nights while in New Mexico. The room I rented had two queen sized beds in it. While I agree with most Yelpers that the downstairs lobby was lovely looking, the rooms could use updates. My room in particular had hairs all over the bathroom (yuck) and it was supposed to have just been cleaned. In addition, there was no ventilation in the bathroom at all. During my stay, I only asked for towel service and not a room cleaning. Therefore, I can't comment on the expeditiousness or quality of room service or cleaning requests. My thought was why ask for the room to be cleaned when it was already supposed to be done when I arrived? If at check-in, the definition of clean was up to their quality standards, well.... Upon my next trip to New Mexico, I would most likely stay elsewhere.

Trine N.

Yelp
This hotel is really nice. Old town is within walking distance as is The Saw Mill. Reciprocity with the next door hotel that shares the pool has a nice spa. After enjoying two different Petroglyph Monument trails and a dip in the hotel pool, a massage next door was wonderful. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating in both hotels. Our room had a window that was a seamless corner providing an extremely panoramic view. Can't recommend this lovely oasis enough. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
One of the best Mexican dinners I've ever had! The staff was very kind. We got tortilla chips and salsa as entree for free. I ordered a shredded beef tortilla with rice and beans. Delicious! Also the sopapillas straws were tasty!!! Sadly, we couldn't finish them after the gracious dinner. We just ate too much because it was so good. If you are in Albuquerque and you like to spend a little bit more money for dinner you have to come here. The restrooms are okey. Not wow but clean.

Yelp
I had booked this hotel a long time ago and was so excited about coming here. It was my vacation splurge.. A 4* historic hotel oozing with Native American and New Mexico charm. It is beautiful, but needs some major customer service training. The staff, it appears are apathetic and overwhelmed, not enough people in the bar restaurant. The hostess immediate response when we asked to sit at the bar was, "It's a 15 minute wait" even though the large bar had about 6 people in it. She then informed us that food would be at least a 45 minute wait. We were okay with that, we told her we were in no rush. She then informed us that the bar tender had been working since 0700. It was currently 7pm!!! Her attitude was one of distain and indifference. It definitely set us up in a negative vibe. When we got to the bar we didn't bother the bar man at all for about 20 minutes. He was curt, irritated and indifferent. We eventually ordered steak Fajita's. It came out, minus a plate, minus avocado, minus pico, all were listed on the menu. The food was tough and bland. We left... I went to the front desk to discuss the situation, the lady barely responded with "I'm sorry".. I'm so irritated, considering the advertising this hotel does and the cost of the stay. Our room was large but could do with a good scrub. I sent an email. I doubt I'll ever get a response. I feel bad for the service industry.. My children work for the service industry and obviously management are not helping the staff and I'm assuming underpaying and not training them in customer relations. I don't think I am a picky guest. I feel bad for leaving a negative review but unfortunately I had no option here. PASS!!

Helene S.

Yelp
Five star location in a 3.5 star hotel. Great location on the edge of Old Town. Easy to walk to the Albuquerque Museum to visit their beautiful outdoor sculpture garden, Tiguex Park and the church and shops at Old Town. Check in was easy. Parking lot was empty. Social distancing, masks and limited occupancy are being enforced. Hand sanitizers are everywhere throughout the property. Rooms are comfy but basic. Think an older Doubletree or an updated Hampton. Nice to have a corner peekaboo view of the sunrise. Although all services except the front desk were closed, the property looked charming. Would be a nice place for a wedding or a meeting. A daily resort fee of $20 typically covers the pool, spa, exercise rooms, newspaper, water, snacks, daily housekeeping and coffee. Since none of these are offered due to COVID, they graciously waived this fee. The front desk does have coffee pods for the in room Keurig and water bottles if you ask.

Mellissa B.

Yelp
There is nothing good I can say about this hotel and it's definitely not a $200 per night Hotel. While I love historical and old/vintage architecture and homes, it doesn't mean I love busted up, poorly maintained and dirty. I have stayed in many hotels across the country, including very old hotels maintained and updated since the 1930s and very cheap "motels" that were cleaner, smelled better and were more comfortable. The rooms at Hotel Albuquerque have 70s/80s popcorn ceilings, the entry doors and bathroom doors are dirty looking, cheap and painted with cheap paint. The window sills had dirty dust on them (why isn't this being cleaned) and there were cobwebs on the bathroom ceiling. In all rooms, the windows don't even open an inch (they are not made to open) and there's no bathroom fan for ventilation - I had to open the door to my room to get "fresh" air. There were crumbs on the floor when I entered and dusty lamps, dusty alarm clock and dusty looking coffee maker. Yuck. Bed sheets were clean and the beds were not terribly uncomfortable, but they are extremely short mattresses - I'm 5'10" tall and in order for my feet not to hang off the end of the bed, I had to have my head right up against the headboard. The bathroom are updated so when you view the property online that will probably entice you into thinking this is a very clean and nice place to stay. But, the shower head in my bathroom was dirty (literally there were crystallized pieces of something and hard water gunk all over where the water comes out (I've lived with hard water before and you just wipe the shower head clean - why isn't this being done by the cleaning staff?). Before entering this hotel, there are flies swarming the garbage cans outside (I didn't see this next door at the beautiful and clean Hotel Chaco nor did I see fly swarms at any restaurant I've eaten at). When you enter the foyer, the floor is extremely dirty - with actual dirt and grime all over the floor, especially the corners - it feels gross to be welcomed by this. The lobby area felt clean and has a nice Mexican culture vibe with its tile floor, yucca tree plants and other native looking and New Mexican decor. But, you're not sleeping in the lobby. I took a tour of Hotel Chaco next door and as allowed to see an empty room for my next work trip - it's is immaculately clean, well maintained *and* the concierge and hotel staff are MUCH friendlier and helpful. I should have listened to my coworkers and stayed that Hotel Chaco for $70 more a night - it's worth it to feel clean, comfortable and welcomed while so far away from home.

Yelp
This serves to inform the manager, Mr David Culp, who was not present, of the following situation, that the staff at the desk were incompetent in handling. On March 8 my wife and I had reserved a room with a King size bed, a week earlier. When we checked in, the person at the front desk, did not inform us that there were no more rooms with King size beds and went on to provide us our keys to our room which was located on the third floor and I believe it was room 316 The room had two Queen size beds, and that was not what we had reserved. This was totally unacceptable and we left the premises.

Fred B.

Yelp
They say the pool is heated, not true it was 75 degrees. I asked the manager over the three days to heat it but I was ignored. The restaurant is a two star at best. Asked if the table could get a pitcher of ice tea and we were refused, but why. The management doesn't allow a whole pitcher for customers. And the jacuzzi was cold also. The entire hotel is not ADA compliant. The automatic doors don't work no left for the pool ect.

Eric H.

Yelp
We stayed here for a night before a wedding and everything that could have gone wrong basically did. We requested a special room for our anniversary but we got a standard room despite them saying it was their best. Then we couldn't checkin for two hours after the time we were told because nothing was cleaned. Then our special Champaign and chocolate didn't serve until 10pm and the strawberries were rotten. We were missing coffee cups and water glasses and the room hadn't really been swept. The restaurants on site were not helpful and pretty bland. When we checked out no one really cared that nothing went well. BUT if you are here for an event I have to say the courtyard is beautiful. But the only reason I was out there was because the restaurant service was so slow that I had to take my daughter for a walk.

Laura M.

Yelp
For a relaxing stay in a timeless, classy hotel, Hotel Albuquerque is the place to be. The facilities - indoor and outdoors, are clean and well maintained. So much more comfortable and relaxing than a chain hotel, HA serves up hospitality. The food in the Cantina is (of course) New Mexican and fresh. Enjoy!

Christian B.

Yelp
Has to be the dumbest policy they have in place not letting my wife and two-year-old son check in to the hotel before I arrive. So I'm flying in from Denver to Albuquerque. my wife and son are in Albuquerque to pick me up from the airport. I had booked the hotel while I was on travel with my credit card and assumed they (hotel) would let my wife check in. That was not the case the credit card had to be present. So know my family has to wait the 3hrs for me to arrive. I might update this review depending on how the hotel handles it.

Andrew D.

Yelp
GREAT SERVICE! We got in late on Fourth of July and they treated us great! The night desk manager and the morning manger did amazing. They definitely deserve raises. Or at least taller chairs lol. The breakfast was delicious and great service. Definitely a hotel you should flock to, and it's not to far from the interstate either.

Fork In The Road E.

Yelp
Not worth the money. Here's why: -Mountain View was a view of parking lot and freeway. -tv didn't work -shower felt like a trickle -no fan in bathroom -very loud!!! -lots of weddings here so drunk people yelling in the hallways at all hours of the night. Pros: bed was actually really comfortable and free parking.

Lori T.

Yelp
Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town is right off the main freeway. It's in a great location and easy to find. When I called to inquire about availability, I was told there were only two rooms available - the ADA room and the presidential suite. I thought it was the usual response of hotel reservationists to say there's only one room remaining. But when we arrived at the hotel we found out there were two conventions happening at the hotel. The lobby of the hotel is spacious. There's a very large fireplace that they keep a fire going in and couches around the fireplace. There's a gift shop, restaurant and bar off the lobby. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we did sit in the bar. Nate the bar manager was welcoming and friendly. There is also a man (Luis ?) singing and playing the guitar in the restaurant/bar area. We enjoyed listening to him. I could see why conventions, special events and weddings are held here. The grounds are beautiful and very spacious. There are lots of indoor and outdoor areas for people to gather. There's also a separate wing with convention rooms and a bar. There's also a large pool and hot tub with plenty of seating. Because there were conventions going on while we were there the hot tub was too crowded for us to use the first night. The second night we were able to use the hot tub. Pool towels are kept by the hot tub in the large flower/plant pot. We didn't know they were in the pot until we saw a worker putting the towels in there. The ADA design of the shower stall made it so that when we took a shower, water ran over drain holes and accumulated under the sink area. I had to use all our towels to sop up the water. That was poorly designed. We weren't too far from the elevator so we could hear people walking and talking as they passed by our room. A shoutout to Jonas at the reception desk.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was pretty good. They have FREE locally made biscochitos made by Rude Boy Cookies, locally made. They are like sugar cookies with anise in them. They are pretty good, liked them. Room was nice and clean. Good toiletries. They have Keurig machine for making individual coffee or tea. They have a Garduno's restaurant inside the hotel, they give you 15% off with hotel stay. We had breakfast there 2 times. They are close to Old Town so it's an easy walk over there too.

Yelp
Rooms were fine. 2 queen room is actually 2 full beds, so be aware of that. No clue why, but the floor of our 6th floor room was wet throughout. We didn't complain bc we were only staying for one night awaiting the arrival of our last traveler. Check-in was easy and the desk attendant was friendly. Beautiful grounds - we were able to see a wedding from our balcony. Conveniently located across from the Sawmill Food Hall.

Yelp
Was treated poorly by staff members while trying to book a reservation. We're not accommodating.

Yelp
How anyone can give this hotel a decent rating is beyond me. I travel a lot & this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We booked for one night. August 20-21. (Confirmation 71768118 since the property responded to my google review insinuating i am lying.)We arrived late. When we arrived there wasn't anyone at the counter. A few minutes later several officers or maybe detectives walked out of a door to the right. A frazzled desk attendant came & checked us in. We went up to our room to drop bags. We had to step over, yes, you read that right, step over what appeared to be an accident that resembled vomit to get to our room. Dropped bags and went back downstairs to grab a bite at the restaurant in the hotel. I told the person at the desk about the mess. When we went back to our room, the mess was still there. We went to bed. At midnight alarms start going off. Someone had set the alarm clock. Annoying. Back to sleep. At 1:30 the fire alarm is going off. We go downstairs & there is zero communication with people inside and out, just wandering around. No fire truck pulls up. No police. Nothing. The person at the front desk gives some nonsense about how her system says someone pulled it. Yet, no responder in sight! Oh, and the stuff in the hallway was still there. It seemed so sketchy that we grabbed our bags and left. I have never had such a bad feeling about a hotel & we were only there four hours. After, we made multiple attempts to call & speak to a manager & were told every time that there isn't one available.

Yelp
Booked a balcony suite during balloon fiesta to celebrate our anniversary, at a higher cost, and they checked us into a suite with no balcony. The balcony is all we wanted and it's what we paid for. When we called down to correct the mistake we were told that they had no balcony rooms, even though that's what we had reserved and paid for, and that we were lucky we hadn't been bumped from the hotel as they were overbooked. They acknowledged that we should have received a call in the morning to inform us of the room change, but they were unwilling to reimburse us the difference, offer us a voucher for the restaurant, or even discount on a future stay. What they did offer was a bottle of wine, and after we said we don't drink, chips and salsa. Geez thanks. This was our anniversary splurge, and it sure doesn't feel like we got what we paid for, because we DID NOT. In the morning we called the front desk to order room service because the button didn't work, and their attempts to patch us through failed several times, once ending at a vm recording with a full mailbox, and then back to the front desk...at which point they admitted to not being sure if room service was open or not, and that we should probably come downstairs to order it. Um, that's not room service. Bottom line this place is a 4 star hotel (according to google), that charges a premium for a less than premium experience. We live here in ABQ and are just really disappointed at how this reflects on our city. Its abundantly clear that all businesses, across all industries are dealing with staffing shortages. But at a bare minimum, the least this flagship hotel could do is train the front desk to keep clients happy and correct their mistakes. That said the housekeeping and restaurant staff were all very friendly.

Yelp
Contemplating how to write this review and what to ultimately rate it was a struggle, but in the end I settled on this one star rating based upon the price/quality advertised which sets higher expectations that a cheap motel would. Here we go: I had booked this property weeks in advance while setting up a roadtrip itinerary for my mom (who was visiting from overseas for the first time in 3 years) and me. I always book two-queen beds. Upon arrival, we were a bit early at 2pm, they did not yet have a room available and told us to wait another hour or so. We sat in the lobby, which is beautiful btw. I had a migraine that day, that was progressively getting worse. Upon sitting in the lobby, the firealarm went off 3 times. We initially went out the first time, but after that we were informed that it was false alarm caused by construction. Construction? Never was I informed there would be construction prior/at booking or prior to arrival.. After 1.5h of waiting, I see two other guests at check-in being given keycards. At this point I get annoyed because we had been waiting for so long. They finish up checking in and finally they look for my room. They still had to go double check if it was ready. Eventually we got keys. We go up to the 11th floor (highest one), only to see that they had given us the wrong room type (one king instead of two queens). I started to lose it at this stage. We go back downstairs to complain and are told that they didn't have any more rooms with two beds. I'm sorry what?! They tried blaming Booking.com but that is just a slap in the face because I have never had the wrong room type. They suggested moving to a different property in a different area, which I refused because my migraine was killing me at this point and I just wanted a bed. They then suggested a rollaway be added and they comp the room. I ended up agreeing to this just to have a bed to lie in. It gets worse.. When I got into the room and wanted to wash my face at the sink with warm water. No warm water came out of the taps. I left it running a few minutes. When I went back, I had almost flooded the sink! No water was draining, not even through the backflow. So maintenance had to be called. The one guy on call, had to take apart the drain to try to get sediment out of it. In the process, he apparently (I was in bed trying to rest) used all of the large towels to clean up the water and never replaced them. As for the lack of hot water at the sink, this is due to those pipes being a different set. The shower hot water works fine. They can't fix the hot water at the sink, you just have to run it for 10 minutes. At the same time, there was still a lot of noise from construction on the floors beneath, preventing me from resting. As for the general quality of the room, they have their priorities wrong. They invest in fancy fixtures, when neglecting basics like warm water and a noiseproof door so you don't hear kids screaming in the room across from you. There was a 2 inch gap underneath the door. There also also no chairs or a table on the balcony. So you can only enjoy it by standing on it. Staff tried as hard as they could to make up for all the shortcomings, but honestly, it shows that the mistakes are being made at the top. Do not reopen a hotel at full capacity (for what is available) to the public during/after construction without test-running all of the rooms and making sure staff is in synch with each other. Listen to the issues your staff addresses because they either experience it, or have heard it from guests. Other than a hotel that looks nice, it has nothing additional to offer. This was supposed to be the nicest hotel I had booked for this road trip and it turned into the biggest disaster. Motels at half the rate were amazing compared to this. Not to mention they offer free breakfast and/or snacks..

Yelp
Super close to Sawmill ( love) and old town ( fun) but hotel lacks any kind of hospitality. Extremely slow check in, not very accommodating. Many others checked in before us, made my reservation 6 months ago. Old town and sawmill are all in close proximity, wouldn't waste money at this place when other hotels are close enough and Way nicer, like the Embassy Suites, gorgeous, friendly and accommodating

Yelp
The hotel is absolutely beautiful!. Our room was so comfy and welcoming. The staff was friendly over all and the courtyard was so gorgeous! Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, I will return.

Yelp
We have eaten at the restaurant in this hotel on numerous odors to New Mexico, but as we rarely stay in Albuquerque we have never enjoyed accommodation at this hotel. The room was very nice and the service was very good. Booking was easy through Expedia. My only disappointment was that the restaurant was only serving a Happy Hour menu, but we managed to find a different place to enjoy dinner and we understand that COVID has changed a lot of things in the hospitality industry. For future stays in Albuquerque this hotel would definitely be at the top of the running.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. We attended the Gynecological Cancer Project's "Beauty in all the Colors" fundraiser and fashion show here (for women who have survived cancer or going through cancer). The event was well-planned and went off without a hitch. When we arrived, the table was already decorated with a small plate of cream puffs, eclairs, and chocolate covered strawberries. For the luncheon, the Hotel Albuquerque staff served a rosemary roasted chicken breast on a bed of boursin mashed potatoes. Light, but delicious. There was a hidden garden outside the doors, where brilliant lilac bloomed against the rain-soaked grass.

Yelp
People make the experience and everyone here from check in to manager to people in the halls is polite, helpful, and bends over backwards to make one's stay a pleasant one. Secondarily, it's in the Old Town which means walking distance to shops, museums, and restaurants.

Yelp
My brother and I booked this for our first night on vacation. The location is awesome and right next to old town. Check was super friendly and efficient. Fresh traditional biscocho cookies were served and were delicious. The room was huge and had views of Sandia mountains and hot air ballons. All staff were super friendly to us and helpful. They helped us purchase tickets for the onsite flamenco show which I reviewed separately. The hotel is well kept and decorated with a beautiful south west theme. The room lacked a safe and that was our only quibble. This hotel hosts large events plus shows so parking was a challenge during portions of our stay. The price to value was great and we would stay here again!!

Yelp
Blame Covid. No morning coffee. All outside entrances closed even with a room key forcing you to walk around building through large vast lobby. Very inconvenient. I'm tried of any amenity a hotel doesn't want to provide they blame on Covid 15 months later. PS: New Mexico lifted their mask mandate yesterday

Yelp
This place is beautiful ! Allows it's customers to experience the authenticity of New Mexico from the comfort of a homey hotel. The staff were so personable and took great care of us on our anniversary. Between the large pool and late night bar/restaurant we were so filled with fun vacation vibes. It was so proximal to many great views, yummy eateries and delicious bars ! We loved walking all around and barely had to use the car

Yelp
Amenity/resort fee. 20 bucks with no value add to my knowledge . Tacky. Enough on that. I really wanted to give a 3 star on this one because it seems pricey for what you get. However, Hotel Albuquerque wins on location. It's right on the edge of Old Town. No driving needed. It's really nice to be able to just walk around, shop, and eat then mosey on back to the hotel. Staff is friendly. Good restaurant. Rooms are decent. Nice bed frame, TV and desk area. It is a great place to stay while visiting old town. Will come back again.

Yelp
Not sure I get the negative reviews of this hotel. The rooms match the descriptions online. They could be more modern but I found them overall to be comfortable, clean, and safe. The staff here is incredible, by the way. I have never met a more friendly and hospitable hotel staff. The only knock is no really close cafe for coffee. I would recommend black bird coffee in old town but they don't open until 8:30 if you are traveling for business and need some coffee earlier. Overall I'd consider staying here again.

Yelp
Lovely hotel with amenities and character in a great, convenient location. I've stayed here several times over the years, and love the beautiful lobby and courtyard, and the pool and jacuzzi - especially beautiful in this autumn season with the surrounding trees turning vivid yellow and orange. There's free parking, Free WiFi, and Free use of their fitness center (or visit the fancy one at El Chaco by the pool for $20. I wasn't a big fan of W Bar or Garduño's on site, but you're walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars and shops (one of my favorites, the Seasons rooftop deck nearby).

Yelp
I wanted to put in a good word for Roxanne .S I found Roxanne S guest service abilities to be Five Star Excellence equal to that of The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Roxanne was very helpful with getting some items I needed for my room and delivered them personally with a warm smile on her face and an amazing upbeat feel in her body language. She really made me feel like a VIP guest. I think that the hotel's corporate office should hook Roxanne up with a $ 250.00 gift card to Starbucks, that is how Awesome Sauce Excellent her customer service is. Hotel Albuquerque should consider itself Blessed and Lucky to have Roxanne working for your company !!! Cheers and Blessing to you and your !!

Yelp
Filled with charm. Not a huge chain hotel, personalized. Very friendly staff, helpful. Walking distance to Old Town. Pool with adequate temp. Get a balcony- nice view from my 7th floor room. Rooms are roomy, bathroom and vanity. Good closet space. Liked walking around the grounds with a cup of coffee in the early morning.
