Hotel Alegria

I was delighted with my stay at the Hotel Alegria and its location was just perfect for me. My room was on the 2nd floor and very quiet and comfortable. The bed and linens were lovely. The breakfast set up and offerings were great including having eggs made to order, delicious yogurt, fresh fruit, multiple coffee options and so on. A solid start to the day. ||It is an old building so the hallway flooring creaks a bit, but that only added to its charm. For me, the hotel was very comfortable and clean. |Staff were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Lisbon, making it a fantastic base for exploring the city’s major attractions, all within walking distance. It’s also right behind a shopping strip filled with luxury brands but tucked away on a quieter street for a peaceful stay. During our first visit, the room was on the smaller side but clean and well-equipped with good lighting, hot water, and central air conditioning. On our second stay, we upgraded to a suite, which was spacious, modern, and beautifully designed. It featured four French doors offering stunning views of the city and the castle. The thoughtful details in the suite, like a Dyson hair dryer and a Marshall speaker, added a luxurious touch. The hotel staff were exceptional, especially Ines at the front desk, who was incredibly friendly, informative, and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was also a highlight, offering plenty of options to start the day. Overall, a great hotel for a comfortable and memorable stay in Lisbon. Highly recommend!

We stayed her for 2 nights before a cruise. It's a lovely hotel. Ines who often was at the front desk was outstanding - checking us in, providing dining information, answering our many questions & more. The hotel had a great location. I had contacted them about getting to the hotel from the airport and found out they do provide a car service for a fee which we used instead of a taxi. The driver was waiting for us when we exited customs. ||We had booked a Mansour room & were very happy with it. It was on the 4th floor & we were able to see part of the castle in the distance. It had a safe & a stocked refrigerator. The bed was comfy & the pillows were good. It was quiet at night. Their breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. Water was available in the lobby all day as well as some fresh pastries. We tried a restaurant that was not too far away named Antikuario. Our meals were some of the best we've ever had. It's about a 10 minute walk away. Ines helped us get reservations there.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff and delicious breakfast in the morning. Loved the interior of the hotel and room, with all the little details, colours and plants. Very warm and cozy. Nicely located to discover Lisbon on foot

We only stayed one night but the room was very nice and had a great view. The location was excellent. Staff was helpful and fast and the lobby had a great vibe. I like the neighborhood which has lots of tile stores, clothing boutiques, and great tapas. Plus you're only a few minutes walk up the hill to Barrio Alto. Would come back for sure.

The hotel itself is wonderful. The rooms are big and comfortable. Reception staff was very helpful when our suitcases had not arrived at the airport. Diego gave us toothpaste and brushes as well as a charger for our phone.|However, be aware of the kiosk outside the hotel - the hotel staff of the kiosk is very unfriendly and aggressive.

I don’t often write reviews but this little hotel was truly up to the mark. From the friendly, courteous service to the lovely room and mouth-watering breakfast, this was a 10/10. Even better because there was a small park across the street with a hotel-owned cafe that also had delicious food. We will be back!

Top location to everything including transit, friendly, clean and comfortable are just a few words to describe our stay at the Alegria Hotel in Lisbon. Our room was upgraded when we arrived. The rosemary outside of our window was fragrant and the Christmas lights made the room sparkle, though easy to block out the light and noise with shutter doors and drapes. The breakfast buffet covered all food preferences. We would certainly rebook this magical hotel if we ever return to Lisbon.

Hotel Alegria is a wonderful hotel right off the famous Av da Liberdade. It is next to the cute little park, in a middle of everything, walking distance from everywhere, yet in a quite & quaint part. We stayed here for 5 nights & really enjoyed our stay. The room was classy & had everything you could wish for. All the staff members were amazing. Very helpful & accommodating. On our first night we realized that our AC wasn't working properly. We mentioned it to the front desk the next morning & right away someone was sent to check it out. When it couldn't be fixed we were given another room instantly. We appreciated it VERY much. We don't normally have breakfasts in hotels that we stay in because we like to go out & try different things... however we had breakfast here one time & enjoyed it very much. We will definitely stay in this charming hotel next time we are in Lisbon.

This hotel is wonderful! The building and rooms are charming, the staff is efficient, and the breakfast totally seals the deal! I've been staying at Hotel Alegria for about 4 days now and it's been a good experience. The room, while small, is very comfortable and has all the amenities I need. When something is missing, like an iron and ironing board, one can be supplied by just asking the front desk. The people who clean the rooms are quick and do a great job. Excellent stay and hope to stay here again when I return to Lisbon.

The location of this place is perfect, and I loved spending evenings in praça alegria having a drink and enjoying some live music. The rooms were beautiful as well and so charming, and the place was impeccably clean! Best of all, everyone at the hotel was so kind and personable. Inês in particular was AWESOME! My mom forgot her phone on the plane, and Inês went above and beyond to help by calling the lost and found multiple times for us and helping us find more info. She was so kind and helpful! Thank you Inês!

I almost never leave reviews. Just busy and well, not that into it. But Hotel Alegria is a wonderful treasure in Lisbon that forced me to make an exception. Bernard, George, and their designer, Joelle, as well as all the staff made our romantic European fantasy hotel a reality with its charming rooms, a sidewalk cafe, and an outdoor kiosk/cafe across the street in the wonderful little plaza in front of the hotel. Service was perfect. Breakfast too with a large, variety of fresh breads, fruits, juices, cheeses, pastries, charcuterie, eggs, etc. Everything is quality. Beds were great. Firm but comfortable. Location is on a small, quiet square close to everything. We walked everywhere but also were able to sleep at night. We spent 2.5 weeks traveling through Portugual. We loved the Hotel Alegria so much we booked it again upon our return to Lisbon. When we checked out at 4:30 a.m. to catch our flight home, staff had a breakfast package ready for us. Typical European hotel with small but charming rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a reasonable price and good value for what you get. Really great location! Convenient to the metro and only 30 min or so away from Lisbon's airport. Almost all main attractions of the city are walking distance and the rest are an easy metro or cab ride away.
