If Lake Lucerne were a movie, then Hotel Alexander in Weggis would be the IMAX theatre with the best seats—and possibly a warm schnitzel in your lap.||We came for lunch and stayed for the view (and dessert, and coffee, and then just… lingered until it was socially acceptable to order a second round). The staff were so friendly and attentive, I began to suspect they were either mind-readers or just really liked their jobs. Either way, I felt like royalty—if royalty were allowed to wear hiking shoes and request extra butter.||And let’s talk about the real VIP: our dog. Not only was she welcomed, she was fawned over like a tiny, furry celebrity. Water bowl? Of course. Treats? Naturally. Existential conversation about her feelings on ducks? Possibly. She left the restaurant with a smug expression and the kind of tail-wag that says, “I deserve this.”||Bottom line: incredible views, heartwarming hospitality, delicious food, and a dog who now refuses to eat anywhere less than lakeside. Hotel Alexander, we salute you—with forks raised and tails wagging.

Great hotel with staff who couldn't do enough for us. Amazing food and service. Lovely views over lake Lucerne and snow capped mountains. 2 lovely heated swimming pools. Just perfect for us.

I got the day spa voucher for this hotel for my birthday. I had one entire day inside the spa, which I have to say it is nice…the spa has a pool inside and a pool outside, it was a rainy day so outside was really cold and I have to say water was too cold, for me and my friend wasn’t enought warm to enjoy. Pleasant was the sauna area and all these beautiful old rooms inside. With spa day we got also to have lunch there, at the restaurant, lunch was good, service was a bit pushing to be honest, but we enjoyed it anyway. The spa has really a beautiful view. Service at the spa receptionist was really good and professional, really welcoming. We loved the bed full with water, to relax, and the fact you can have tea and water whenever you want. Generally I would like to come back there, I just hope water will be warmer. Marika and Claudia

We had the most fantastic meal with the most magnificent view of the lake and Alps. I had sea food Linguine and my friend had the fish and chips. Both so so delicious.

Hi pople...very nice location and Hotel... We were there to chill and to grab some coctail... Everything would be nice but we wanted to sit on Terrace where it was free places... It was dinner time... Some of the Tables were free without reservation marks... We asked if we can sit there, and some older guy, probobly main waitor, and he was Italian or Portugeese, he was not that polite and just said no,thats for dinner guests. If that is case it should be reserved with visible note. Yound lady at the Bar was so nice..and she went to ask him again after she brought us drinks because most of the tables were free and he said no again. Btw my partner, she is African, and the guy imidiatley, when he saw us,he change the expresion on his face... In his mind oh my God they are gonna just drink and not eat and I will not get tips, but for his bad,of course that young polite lady at the bar reciveed tips. That guy i would not take to take care of my sheaps if I have a herd and for sure I would not take him as a main person in my restaurant.

I had one night at this property, between Hertenstein and Weggis in a beautiful location overlooking the lake. While the property is not lake-front, it is very close to the lake, and has a bit of an elevated hill-side location, making the lake vista even more beautiful. There is a small road separating the hotel and the lake, but luckily there's very little traffic and noise from the road.||I had booked an 'Arven' room with a balcony and view of the lake. Indeed, the view was pretty spectacular, and really allowed you to take in the stunning nature of the area.||I was able to check in pretty early in the day, which was much appreciated, and I was offered a free drink (I chose Prosecco) as a welcome. I also got a free snack in the room as a welcome, and there's a mini bar as well, albeit a bit pricey.||The bathroom was also nice and pretty spacious.||The hotel features a very nice outdoor and indoor pool, and there's a spa area where you can book massages and such. There's also saunas available and various other spa facilities. ||It was slightly cold during my visit, so the heated pool was much appreciated and it was lovely to enjoy the stellar view of the lake from the pool.||I had breakfast, lunch and dinner on site (mostly because there's not many dining options within walking distance) but all was great, and service from staff was perfect. ||After dinner, I got some incredible pictures of the view, and also realized that the hotel has an area on the other side of the road, right by the lake, with chairs and a nice place to enjoy the view, literally right by the lake. ||I believe you can also use the restaurant and facilities at their sister property next door, Gerbi.||The area itself is very quiet and uneventful. There is an indoor pool at Lido across the street, and the small city of Weggis (where you can also take the boat to Luzern) is maybe a 10 minute walk from the hotel. ||Overall, an amazing hotel with great service from the staff. It shows that it's a family-run property and that they want to make every guest have a great experience.

Pro’s -|1) The view from the rooms are exceptional, what a view to wake up to|2)The evening meal and staff were 5*, so delicious and the staff were so attentive|3) Location is great and the Lido is perfectly situated |4) Amazing massage, one of the best I’ve ever had ||Negatives|1) No aircon which is ok until there is 30’c plus heat, which it was when we arrived. I was sweating walking around the hotel and in my room, we were melting eating dinner until I asked to open a window.|2) Whilst the spa pool was lovely, some of its other amenities weren’t open or was of poor standard (cold plunge pool was dirty)

Very nice and clean hotel, with a great pool and spa area. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they offered and gave us rides wherever we wanted to go. Fun bar area, great breakfast. Would stay there again!

Yelp
We had a lovely, but short stay at this hotel. Their indoor pool is warm and relaxing. They also have a 2-person sauna. We didn't have time to utilize the spa services available, but perhaps next time we will. The staff is very nice and helpful. The server Anna is very friendly as well. Be sure to ask for your meal invoice to sign. They probably won't offer it because they don't want to make you feel rushed to leave. Their shuttle driver rescued us from a thunderstorm at the boat pier. Lovely little hotel. Hope to stay there again.
