11 Best Hotels in Seville

"For a taste of truly regal extravagance, look no further. Built specially for Seville’s 1929 Expo, this majestic establishment was commissioned by the then king of Spain, who gave it his own name. Look out for the monarch’s mahogany and bronze throne: This was originally used in the royal office of the premises, which is where the restaurant Ena now sits. Here, executive chef Brian Deegan had just launched a new menu including grilled Iberian pork with escalivada and scallops with cauliflower foam. The hotel’s 148 rooms alternate Andalusian, Castilian, and Moorish decorative styles; with grand stairways, sweeping corridors, and ornamental patterns everywhere the eye can see. Address: C. This is a remarkable and historic hotel. First class in every way. The hotel staff is fantastic and so helpful and friendly. It is in a perfect location to see the historical sights and the hotel itself is like a museum itself. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. Excellent shower and comfortable bed. Fitness center is good with plenty of cardio machines. Hotel has a beautiful pool and two excellent bars, including the American Bar which has live music on certain dates. If visiting Sevilla this is an easy decision - you really can’t go wrong here.| A special thank you to Giovanni who gave us a personal tour of the hotel and made our stay special - he really is a difference maker and an amazing representative of the incredible staff this hotel has.

The Hotel Alfonso XIII provided us one the best hotel experiences ever! It started at reception when we were attended to by Susana Lopez and Andrea Berjas. They were both extremely warm, professional, and friendly. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and valued as a guests. Our upgraded room could not have been better. It was beautifully and tastefully furnished. The chairs and sofa were very comfortable. Breakfast was a feast! It provided a wide variety of foods and drinks. The table service was attentive without being invasive. Whenever we encountered staff throughout the hotel they acknowledged us and frequently ask us about our stay. This is what a real 5 star experience should be. We look forward to returning some day.

I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel in Seville, and I can’t say enough about how great the experience was. The property itself is stunning—full of character, comfortable rooms, and a perfect location to explore the city. What truly made our stay special was the outstanding service we received from Giovanni. From the moment we arrived, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He showed us around the hotel, shared great recommendations for things to see and do, and genuinely cared about making sure we enjoyed our time in Seville. His warmth, professionalism, and local knowledge were invaluable. If you’re planning a trip to Seville, I highly recommend staying here. And if you have the chance, let Giovanni guide you—he made all the difference.

We have stayed at Hotel Alfonso XIII several times and it is one of our favorite hotels in the world. The hotel's aesthetics are unique and wonderful, but even that is outdone by the wonderful service provided by every staff member. The restaurants and especially the terrace are excellent as well, providing fantastic atmosphere and good food/drink. The hotel is in a perfect location to see the sights in the historic part of Seville. It is always a special treat to be a guest here.

Google
Beautiful grand hotel, very plush and luxurious. We stayed three nights, the A/c wasn’t very good in our room (151) and the hotel graciously moved us when we requested, to a suite which was very much appreciated. It would have been a 5 star review, but sadly like so many establishments in Spain, the bar doesn’t stock “normal” tonic water, only a lime flavoured tonic. You can choose from a dozen gins, but only a lime flavoured tonic!!! Hopefully this will change as the hotel and staff are superb.

Google
Perfect location. Excellent service. Pool is terrific. Courtyard provided the best atmosphere for a breakfast I've ever had. But rooms are not up to par for a 5 star hotel. Little nitpicky things accumulate (e.g. loose floor tiles, cracked trim, tight bathroom layout). Would definitely stay again but I do wonder why they don't invest the extra 5% of effort to make this place absolutely perfect. Thank you to every employee for making my stay a dream from housekeeping to bell hop to concierge to pool staff.

During our honeymoon, we had dinner at the main restaurant and enjoyed drinks at their outdoor bar. Very beautiful hotel, restaurant, and bar. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is the services was a little slow (and it wasn’t very crowded when we went). Recommend visiting and having dinner and/or a drink here 😃

There are some things about the Alfonso XIII that cannot be debated: 1) the location is unbelievable. All of the major sights in Sevilla are close by - most within close walking distance. 2) the hotel itself is a work of art. From the tiles to the ceilings, the courtyard to the elevators - the building is magnificent. It's possible that other things - like the rooms, the food and the service could be debated based on your own personal experience - but in ours, they were all wonderful. I am a Marriott platinum, and took advantage of both Marriott and Amex perks. The room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed (ours was in a great location as well - if you can get room 344, do it). The only complaint is that the tub/shower is very narrow and tended to get the bathroom floor quite wet. As for food - the only meals we had in the hot were breakfasts, but the spread was plentiful in quantity and extremely tasty (the juices and coffees were great, and the eggs were delicious). Finally - the service is impeccable. From the front door greeting to a minor first aid emergency, the staff were fantastic. But special kudos to Giovanni the guest relations manager. After welcoming us and walking us to our room (!) he let us know that he offers a tour of the hotel at 530pm (which is followed by service of a mimosa, with Iberico ham and local cheese). The tour offers great insights about the history of the hotel, and provides access to some otherwise "off limits" locations (like the tower). Whenever we return to Sevilla, there's no doubt about where we will stay.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations at one of the hotel's restaurants, so we decide to stroll inside the hotel for a bit before our meal. The Hotel Alfonso XIII, is a Luxury Collection Hotel, located next to Seville's Real Alcazares. Set on the edge of the historic Santa Cruz district, hotel is within 984 feet of Seville Cathedral and the Giralda. The Torre de Oro and the banks of the River Guadalquivir are just 328 feet away. The exquisite tile work around the hotel, the high ceilings and the impeccable service make this one a great jewel in the Marriott Bonvoy collection of hotels.

Yelp
Luxury ? " Yes please!" This hotel is dripping in luxury and opulence... So much history and architecturally pleasing in every way.. we did not stay over night, sadly. However, we had dinner in The gorgeous San Fernando restaurant. 5 star all the way around : service, food, ambience, entertainment. We loved stumbling on to this incredible property and exploring the grounds. If you are out and about sight seeing I. Sevilla, make your way over to The Alfonzo Hotel ( Bonvoy Marriott) and enjoy whatever it is you can....

Yelp
Quite possibly the most beautiful and luxurious hotel I've ever stepped in! As we were walking towards the entrance to check in, people were outside taking photos of the building's beautiful structures. This hotel has tons of history and was even told that los Reyes de España stay here when they are in town. Check in was nice and easy and the concierge walked us to our room and showed us around. This place is magnificent and truly a place where monarchs stay. Their dining room where we had breakfast is as beautiful as the rest of the building with grand chandeliers and tapestries throughout.

Yelp
I remember like it was yesterday. I was strolling through Sevilla with friends, we had freshly arrived and were eagerly sauntering around, eyes full of curious stars. The first thing we noticed was the row of huge palm trees. You can never go wrong with palm trees. Peaking behind the majestic trees was this gorgeous building. I don't have the vernacular to express its beauty, but trust me when I tell you that it looks like an architectural piece of heaven. The entrance looks like a forbidden part of the garden of Eden. It makes you want to enter and see what it's all about and it gives you hope that its insides will be even better. I went inside, for my birthday. It was lovely. At our table, on the balcony, I heard green birds chirping... I couldn't believe it... I asked my friends if it wasn't just a recording of birds to make visitors feel like they were on an island somewhere, but I saw the birds and had to laugh. The food was okay, I tried their hamburger. Not as mind blowing as the place, but when you're somewhere beautiful. You disregard some things quickly, don't you. I will say, the presentation of the food didn't fit the overall look of the hotel, but alas maybe you need something that brings you back to earth when you're floating, while listening to green birds chirping in and out of palm trees.

Yelp
Pretty snotty-tooth, but we'll worth the visit! Ambience is second-to-none! We just walked in off the street on a personal walking tour of Seville, and stayed for two hours on the outdoor lounge. Temperatures were in the high nineties, yet we were comfortable.

Yelp
When you look up luxury in the dictionary, there should be a photo of this hotel listed. This hotel was absolutely amazing on so many different levels. The details of the hotel were very charming, classic, and historical. You want to stay here - it's a classic. According to Wikipedia, diplomats would stay here, along with celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruz, Madonna, etc. This is a great hotel for historical nuts, as the place has that old charm, and well-preserved too. The courtyard, the staircase, the elevators, the lobby, the tiles in the bathroom, the tiles on the floor, the music in the hallways, were all detailed to the tee - fabulous, if you are into that stuff like I am! Also, not that I stayed in each room, but I felt like each of them would have a spectacular view. We had the view of the outside street, others had views of the courtyard, others had view of the pool - all great in different ways! The amenities were terrific - Acqua di Parma for the shampoo, conditioner, etc. These were larger bottles 75 mL each, not the small dinky ones. They also had a turndown service, replacing all towels and soap halfway through the day. The towels were fantastic too - fluffy, with two different types of textures also. On arrival, we were gifted a bottle of Cava in an ice bucket, pastries, and premium chocolates for being Marriott Bon Voy Titanium members. The chocolates were fantastic!!! The cava too! The Breakfast buffet was good, not the best, but very nice. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs, arroz, and roasted veggies for my fiber fix. It's good to go later (rather right when they open at 8am) because there are more options for food, such as made to order omelettes, pancakes, fried eggs, waffles, etc. The orange juice was also fantastic. The service was a bit stiff here, but oh well, who cares because the setting is stunning. They have an outdoor courtyard, in the middle of the hotel, with a beautiful fountain in the middle, and circular tables filling up the courtyard. The pool was ABSOLUTELY amazing - so relaxing and perfect for the hot summer days. For the lounge chairs, the hotel strategically placed them in spots around the pool with ample areas if you wanted complete sun, half sun/shade, complete shade, or more privacy. All had beach umbrellas. The material of the chairs were semi-waterproof, which really helped with drying in between guests. The pool water itself was very satisfying, as the weather was in the mid 90s, and the water was cool enough to cool you down (not too warm, and not ice cold). It actually went pretty deep on one side too, I think at least 6 feet. Excellent location right next to the Sevilla Cathedral, Alcazar, Chris Columbus Archives, etc. We were able to walk everywhere in Seville very easily, which we loved. My husband and I were ranking our favorite hotels in the entire world that we've stayed at (not that we've stayed at that many 5 star hotels), but this hotel was one of our absolute favorites!!!! (that and the St. Regis Bora Bora lol). It was such a treat to stay here - you will enjoy your stay too.

Yelp
This is a fantastic hotel. Everywhere you look the details are gorgeous, lush, and rich. The common spaces are lovely and relaxing and our rooms are large and beautiful. Speaking of large rooms, these are vastly bigger than the average European-sized hotel rooms. We have two rooms, one for us and one for our sons. I recommend booking here if you'd like ample space to move around. The location is ideal and within easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Our rooms include breakfast. An American hotel breakfast is often so sad that you'd rather pay money elsewhere and eat out. This breakfast, on the other hand, is pure decadence. An omelette station, fresh fruit, Belgian waffles, rice, beans, honey right off of the comb. Too many offerings to list. They serve so many food items for so many different travelers and cultures. My kids' eyes almost popped out of their heads and they didn't even know where to begin. My only minor disappointment was the head bartender at the pool. My teenage son was about to sit down on an unoccupied sun chair and the bartender quickly ran over to him yelling that the chair was occupied. Well, it was the chair next to the one he was going to sit down on so no reason to race over to my son and yell "Occupied! Occupied!", realize his mistake, not apologize, and simply walk away. Rude! I expect better service from this level of hotel. Besides that negative pool bartender experience, everything else and everyone else has been wonderful.

Yelp
During our stay at the Hotel Alfonso XIII, we enjoyed multiple meals at their San Fernando restaurant. Situated inside the nearly 100-year-old building, the restaurant has an elegant feel for yesteryear that is not matched elsewhere in Seville. The minute you arrive, the first thing you notice is the beautiful tilework on the walls, the intricate ceiling and the subtle sound of the fountain in the courtyard. If only going for a glass of wine and tapas, the ambiance is both relaxed and refined. But the true memories are having evening meals at the restaurant. The attention to detail by the staff was truly outstanding, something you don't experience at the more touristy dining options around Seville. We were constantly amazed at the quality of the food. From the starters to the desserts, everything is high quality. They have a very nice selection of wines to complement the meal. One of our favorite dishes was the solomillo which was some of the juiciest and most tender meat we have had anywhere. One evening, we had the fish, and it was so fresh it tasted as if it had been caught only minutes before being served. Being able to sit quietly after dinner and enjoy a traditional dessert and coffee listening to the subtle sounds from the live piano makes for memories that will last a lifetime. Our meals there were easily some of the best meals we've ever eaten in our travels throughout Spain. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming and unique environment!

Yelp
Had an absolutely amazing experience! My wife and I spent a week during the Féria de Abril. The hotel was sold out with customers bustling in and out at all hours because of the Féria! That said, the level of service from housekeeping, restaurant, bar, front desk was perfection. I want to especially commend the Concierge Staff. The support they provided, their recommendations and finally ability to secure tickets to various events and restaurants is unmatched anywhere we have traveled. We were upgraded to a 1 Bedroom which was an unexpected and very much appreciated surprise, made our 17 day trip to Spain perfect! Best hotel experience ever! Muchisimas Gracias!

Yelp
Absolutely stunning hotel in an amazing location, but some of the rudest and worst service I have EVER experienced. Staff was cold, rude, and inattentive. This was super disappointing considering the hotel itself is amazing

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful property with so much history! True luxury and big win for the Bonvoy folks out there! The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because the walls are THIN and it is noisy (this is also coming from a deep sleeper). What did we love so much? -Their Breakfast Buffet was absolutely divine. Endless options and everything tasted great. Starting each morning at a beautiful table facing the courtyard was I will seriously be dreaming of this buffet forever. -The pool was beautiful and the cocktails are were delicious! -Fitness Center- has everything you need and they place some equipment outside as well -Bar Americano- ambiance and cocktails were on point -The history! Be sure to take some time to look at all of the old photos and artifacts.

Yelp
Two major takeaways from visiting Seville over Thanksgiving. This hotel was amazing. Tapas for 7 days straight is slightly less amazing. And add a third: the Italian food in Seville is also amazing. As the pictures attest, this former palace is brimming with beautiful details. You'll find your eyes wandering while sitting in the restaurants, strolling through the lobby or relaxing in your hotel room. We were upgraded to a suite, which was quite literally palatial. If you've ever wondered what it's like to sit in the lap of Luxury, this is it. Extravagant furnishings at every corner (even on the ceiling) were as comfortable as they were beautiful (not that we tested out the comfortability of things on the ceiling). Within the hotel itself are several dining and drinking options. We had breakfast at the hotel most days. American bacon would significantly improve it, but there were an endless array of other options. Plush chairs at cozy tables for two overlooking the center atrium made for a peaceful and relaxing start to the day. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect, triangulated with the Cathedral and the Plaza de Espana. You're walking distance to nearly everywhere you could want to go. Hundreds of restaurants, gelato on every corner, one million Zara locations, the main shopping district, most of the historical landmarks and tourist spots. You don't NEED to drive anywhere, but it's also a terrific jumping off point for day trips around the countryside. If you pick up a rental car at the airport, be prepared to be a bit confused when first approaching the hotel by car. It looks like you're driving through a pedestrian-only area... which you are, for about 20 feet. Once you pull through the gates though, you're in good hands with the exceptionally helpful valet service. A wonderful stay at a gorgeous hotel full of history and beauty.

Yelp
I really have no way to fully express my love for this hotel. I am considering going back to Seville next year, just so I can stay at this hotel again. I really never wanted to leave the hotel. It was so beautiful and the service so excellent that for me, it's a destination hotel. In a great location just a five minute walk or so to the cathedral and the Alcazar. Perfect.

Yelp
Staying for a week in this opulent hotel makes me feel as if we are living in past history. It's perfect in that its centrally located site gives us easy access to all the important historical venues. Our suite was spectacular and service was entirely extraordinary during the stay. All details were expertly handled with utmost professionalism. The hotel's common areas are elegantly upscale, clean with attention to detail. Breakfast buffets were delicious and we never tired from it because the staff varied our first meal each day! We left early on a daily basis , touring and soaking in Sevilla 's magnificent culture and history, meeting new friends and enjoying to the fullest. Despite being dead tired, we always look forward to go "home" to this hotel knowing we will be in pampered surroundings to rejuvenate! Love it and will come back for sure!

Yelp
If you're looking to splurge and stay in a beautiful, luxurious hotel, then stop looking and book this place already! This is definitely one of the most beautiful hotels I've had the privilege of booking/staying at. The attention to detail around the hotel and within the rooms is absolutely impeccable. The greeting received upon entering the hotel makes you feel valued, and the check in process was a pleasant breeze. The entire staff at the hotel know exactly what they're doing and I hope management praises them for the excellent service they all provide. The beds are so comfortable and I absolutely love that they provide turn down service!

Yelp
The Alfonso is a stunning historic hotel centrally located in Seville built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. Overall we had okay service but communication in English was a struggle with some of the staff. In addition, for a luxury collection hotel we expected more seamless service. There were two people at reception and we received the slower of the two for check-in. The other employee appeared to be speedy and churning through customers easily. In addition to being slow, our employee seemed to forget to go over a few standard check-in items. After staying almost 100 nights this year at SPG hotels, we pretty much know the speel. We opted to use our suite night rewards and were upgraded to a deluxe view suite. The room was absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious! Also, we loved that the room had various pictures depicting the history of the hotel. The first day at breakfast service was not attentive but it was better the following two days. Upon arrival to the breakfast area we stood around for quite some time waiting to be seated. A waiter was nearby and saw us but never came over to tell us anything or notify us that we would be assisted shortly. After awhile we decided to seat ourselves and then oddly that same waiter came over and helped us. Breakfast is offered from 7-11am. There are plenty of breakfast options including hot and cold dishes. There is an omelette station and they will deliver the omelettes to your table. The pool area can get very crowded but the staff will do their best to accommodate you and find a seat or lounge chair for you.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Second stop on our honeymoon. The staff were very friendly when we got there, immediately took our bags up to our room. The lobby entry is breathtaking and the wooden elevator doors are unique. Our room was clean, overlooking the courtyard and bathroom had beautiful tile work. When we left for a quick lunch after we arrived, the staff put a bottle of Champaign, with rose petals in the shape of a heart and chocolates on our bed! Very wonderful gesture. The location was so central, I couldn't have asked for anything better. I enjoyed this hotel most out of all of the hotels we stayed at.

Yelp
I'm not sure why it took forever to get a table and another century to get service. Scratch that, we left before anyone got to our table. Not a big loss, we found a lovely spot to dine that was worth every penny.

Yelp
'It' princesses Grace and Diana have both stayed here. Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy and sex kitten Sophia Loren, too. Ernest Hemingway? Check. Mikhail Gorbachev? Indeed. And not last and certainly not least, even Brad Pitt has closed his baby blues at the Hotel Alfonso XII. What I'm trying to say is - this glamorous hotel is good enough for all of the above and more importantly - you'll be treated like a dignitary or movie star, too! Thanks to my Starwood Platinum status (this property is actually owned by the city of Sevilla; Starwood offers its services), we were upgraded to a palatial suite. Built on marble, accented with gold and deliciously opulent without being ostentatious, it was very difficult to leave our 'room' complete with sitting room/library and two bathrooms. Just look at my photo of our tub! After a long day of chasing the local sights (the Cathedral and Alcázar are only steps away), I couldn't wait to soak away the aches acquired from a regular diet of overzealous exploration. A glass of wine, a date with the exquisite tub, more wine on the balcony with the enchanting city of Sevilla unfolding in front of me... well, it's a scene all right. Between the attentive service and luxe surroundings, vacation has never tasted better; I find myself looking for excuses to return soon though I still have so many other cities to see for the first time. The Hotel Alfonso is where you stay on your honeymoon; a place you go to count your blessings for this amazing life... it's perfectly and intimately special. I will be back :)
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
I have never been so happy to be lost. I had reservations at a much more modest property, but could not locate it. After a long time looking, Starwood Platinum status and some points secured a reservation here... with a suite upgrade. You won't hear any complaints from me here; this review is long overdue. The service from all the staff I encountered was tremendous. The building itself is a piece of art, an architectural gem, and an exquisite blanket in which to wrap yourself after exploring the streets of Sevilla. If you can afford to stay here, via points, chickens or other currency, don't hesitate to do so.

Yelp
My wife and I arrived at the Alfonso XIII in Seville after three days in Madrid at the Westin Palace. When we arrived, the front desk checked us in and said "Welcome to the Alfonso XIII, how was your stay at the at the Westin Palace?" He told me that he received a call from the front desk manager at the Westin Palace letting him know that my party would be arriving at the Alfonso XIII. This type of handoff from hotel to hotel was remarkable. The front desk manager recognized me as a Lifetime Platinum and Platinum 75 and upgraded my room to a Junior Suite. The check in experience could not have been nicer. During our stay we were helped by the concierge at that property who could not have been more helpful, suggesting and procuring dinner reservations, making reservations for scooter rentals and suggesting good walking tours. During our stay, we were invited to a cocktail reception at the Bar Americana by the General Manager. My party enjoyed meeting and conversing with the hotel general manager and appreciated their commitment to making sure that the guest experience was special. We chose the breakfast as our Platinum amenity. the breakfast was opulent, the environment was tranquil and the service was perfect. The hotel, itself, is incredibly well maintained and is part of the fabric/history of the city. Our room was beautifully furnished. The linens and towels were luxurious as were the toiletries. The Alfonso XIII had shampoos, soaps and conditioners from a company named "Loewe" which were clearly luxury products. The hotel also provided a high quality disposable razor and shaving cream. My wife and I have stayed at many top hotels around the world. The overall experience at the Alfonso XIII ranks among the best. Our thanks to the entire team!!

Yelp
I could get used to this! This palatial hotel was gorgeous. We arrived very early so they offered us a room with a view of the parking lot because check in was 3 pm and our room wasn't ready. We took it because we reasoned that we'd only be there one night and wouldn't care if there wasn't a view. We weren't disappointed. The room was spacious and dramatic. The shades had a remote control built into the wall so it was easy to close off the outside. The lobby area and inner courtyard are beautiful; lots of history here. The breakfast was served in the courtyard and you just relax and feel so spoiled. It is so impressive and the food selection is pretty awesome too. There is also a terrace bar/restaurant that overlooks a square where we watched a few street performers (flamingo dancers and guitarists) as well as the horse-drawn carriages going by. The terrace sits above street level so it's got a little bit more of a private feel to it than being right on the sidewalk. The service in all areas was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located centrally and it's easy to walk to all the shopping. When we went to check out the area, we walked past the Archivo de Indias and I noticed a ton of police everywhere. I remarked that it was a little unsettling as they even had sharpshooters on top of the building. As we were passing, there was a barricade in front of the building and lots of onlookers. My husband suggested that there was probably some dignitary in town. Sure enough, a motorcade comes by and King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia got out of one of the cars. The crowd loved it and everyone was very excited; lots of cheering and clapping. Super cool. We were able to walk to the Plaza de Espana from the hotel as well as the Parque de Maria Luisa. I would recommend both. I wish we could have had more time in Sevilla at the King Alfonso Xlll hotel; maybe next time...

Yelp
Beautiful property and wonderful location but the service isn't amazing except the valet / door / bell staff who are so wonderful. Get a room on the interior or the street that does not face the tram for less noise at night.

Yelp
Love love love the outdoor terrace. Gorgeous view, great wine and excellent lunch spot. We were a group of 11 and the service was great. Highly recommend the croquettes, bacalao, paella.

Yelp
Fancy hotel, below average service in the cafe. It's a good thing that the hotel's interior is quite captivating because you're bound to be staring at it for a looooong time while waiting for service. By all means drop by for some eye candy but you gotta be patient, just warning you....

Yelp
Calm and eccentric, a true definition of elegance. Stay during Semana Santa, La Feria, or Christmas you will see it all tradition, culture, and feel secure. I have enjoyed staying here on every trip. The staff has made the ladies I bring feel like Queens.

Yelp
Owned by the city of Seville, run by SPG/Marriott, the hotel is centrally located, and striking in appearance. However, beautiful as it is, the hotel doesn't quite stand up to its 5-star rating -- ventilation is lacking, with hotel A/C strained at best; as well, the 'luxury' breakfast offers glimpses of a poorly run operation -- cold, tepid scrambled eggs, swill for coffee, missing silverware, stained table clothes and other strange (inexplicable for an accommodation of this stature) grime. The hotel appears to be depending wholly upon its stunning cosmetic features, with little else to distinguish it, and certainly no claims of exceptionalism otherwise.

Yelp
There may be other hotels in Sevilla, but there really is only one that you need to know about. This is a world-class luxury hotel, with unparalleled first-class service. It's location could not possibly be better, mere blocks from the famous church of Seville, the beautiful Plaza d'espagne and the main central area with all of the restaurants, shops and neighborhoods all within walking distance. The hotel is an attraction itself. Built in 1929, it has a rich history of hosting royalty from around the world. While it celebrates its past, it offers all of the modern luxuries. Seville is a beautiful city and there is much there to justify a visit. But even if there wasn't, this hotel alone would be worth a special trip as a destination.

Yelp
Drinks Visited the hotel for drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful. This is one of the most beautiful hotels and buildings I've visited. Drinks are moderately priced, would recommend a visit here after the cathedral.

Yelp
Great location for walking in the center of Seville. This is a famous property, built in the Spanish Moorish style for an exhibition. The rooms have high ceilings, chandeliers, and the atrium and patio are beautiful. Breakfast buffet is equal to any in Europe. Service? A bit confused. I asked for, reserved a room without feather bedding (a surprisingly common allergy.) It took the entire stay to get one synthetic pillow and the feathers remained. Wheeze. The group banquet service left one non alcohol drinker dry of water and another who ordered no shellfish, another common allergy, with shellfish, then a half an hour later, a bare plate of sauceless cold filet and two stalks of asparagus. We objected and they pulled themselves together after an hour and produced several dinners for the hapless no-prawns-please guests. Not five star, in short. My room faced the carpark, par for the course traveling as a single female. You WILL be facing the carpark. The hall smelled slightly of sewage.

Yelp
Stayed for 4 nights with mixed emotions. The location is amazing! Walk out the door and in any direction find an adventure!! The outside is beautiful! The rooms were lovely - we had a Terrace which was really nice with a great view The beds comfortable but room never the right temperature. The breakfast was nice.... except they do not have pepper and salt shakers that work, and they are not in the table (maybe a cultural thing? )! The service was not good. Room wasn't serviced while we were out most of the time. I called for ice several times on different days and never did get it ! I would stay again based on location but definitely wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Don Fernando Restaurant is one of the top cuisines in Sevilla. The artichoke tempura, pastas, fish and salads are great. Ten points.

Yelp
We decided to book at Alfonso XIII, as it is a Starwood property and we could redeem our hotel points. Sometimes it pays to be like George Clooney's character from "Up in the Air!" The hotel itself is extremely fancy and grandiose, as it was part of the Spanish-American expo that took place approximately 80 years ago. The location is great in terms of doing sightseeing - the Cathedral and Alcazar are within walking distance. Due to the proximity to tourist attractions, I would liken this area to Times Square in New York - a Starbucks on every corner, sub-par and overpriced restaurants, vendors peddling all sorts of souvenirs. To experience truly great restaurants and flamenco, one must venture to the other part of town (you must take the Metro or a taxi to get there). We also received good customer service while at the hotel. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and housekeeping stopped by twice a day. The rooms are spacious, although the beds are a bit uncomfortable. Although it was noted that there is a fitness center, it is actually only a pool. The Wifi was good and we had a stable connection the entire stay. The breakfast is terrible and ridiculously expensive. I cannot believe we paid 50 euros for overcooked eggs and Virginia ham.

Yelp
Simply breathtaking. My kids were completely awed by the place before even getting our rooms

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel, perfect location just a short walk from the Cathedral and all the tapas bars. Swimming pool with bar to cool off on a hot August day. The bar was super perfect to start the evening, followed by a stroll to the historical sites then pub crawling.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel. Excellent service. Perfect centralize location. Able to upgraded to suite. Amazing, lovely room fit for royalty. Impress with breakfast spread. Hands down one of our best stay in Spain. Looking forward to staying again in future.

Yelp
Simply amazing! It felt like my wife and I took a trip back in time when we entered the stunningly ornate lobby of this hotel, can I even call it a hotel? More like palace. The entire property is stunning. But perhaps one of our favorite parts of the hotel were the elevator/lift doors. You'll see what I mean. The service was also very good, Ana at the front desk was very helpful with arranging our late check out and the concierge (sorry can't remember his name) assisted us with tickets to the El Arenal Flammenco Show (which was amazing, thank you!). And hats off to Sergio at Bodega Alfonso. We learned it was only his first day when he served us late on Monday evening; and he took care of us like a pro and served up 2 delicious tinto veranos. But perhaps the shinning moment of our Hotel Alfonso experience was our hotel tour with Melanie. She was an absolute delight. Thank you for a wonderful tour! Speaking of the tour, TOTALLY RECOMMEND it. They begin at 5:30pm and you'll get to see parts of the hotel that guest normally don't have access too, namely the Royal Suite and the outdoor roof terrace. Our tour concluded in the Bodega Alfonso with a sherry tasting!! Our room (237) was magnificent. We actually commented that it was even a bit too big for just the two of us. That leads me to one small complaint. We had originally booked a Deluxe Queen room however, we were told that room could not accommodate two guests and we had to change our reservation to a Deluxe Double Room, €75 extra. Really? The Deluxe Queen couldn't fit two? In this grand hotel? Our Deluxe Double room could have housed a family of 10! The amazing bed, which we both had a trouble leaving in the morning, helped ease the pain of the extra cost by a bit. I was also a bit discouraged by the breakfast buffet on Sunday. After reading the great reviews I was excited for the selections. Yes, there was a great variety of "hot" and cold items and even sparkling wine. However, some of the "hot" items were ice cold; little bit of a let down to have a cold hashbrown for breakfast. This experience held back the hotel from a 5 star rating. Lastly, one tip, if you plan to drink the complimentary bottles of water be sure to have a bottle opener with you, or be prepared to call room service for one. It was nice to have the free water, but the room had no opener.

Yelp
The best hotel I have ever stayed in! A-MA-Z-ING!!!!! It is like staying in a palace in the heart of Sevilla.

Yelp
For starters, the "wow" factor of this hotel is high. It's a breathtaking building with many beautiful details. It's a perfect setting from which to venture out and take in the many wonderful sights of this amazing city. Our room, upon first viewing, was also very nice. The location of the hotel itself is also central to many attractions. So, what's not to like? For one thing, our shower (grand deluxe room) was coated with black mold . It was literally flaking off the walls as I showered after check-in. I quickly brought this to the hotel's attention and was told it would be addressed immediately. Let's just say it never actually was addressed and, if it was, whoever addressed it needs a lesson or several in cleaning. The mold continued to flake from the walls each and every time I showered. The shower also has very limited water pressure, albeit this wasn't particularly surprising given the age of the building. Also, "Where the heck are the qtips/cotton ear swabs??" This particular toiletry is a staple in the U.S. and it didn't exist at this luxury hotel. SO...if you want them? Bring them, because they are more often than not absent. We also had to call because we were not provided with enough toiletries in general. Granted, our stay here was relatively short (2 nights), but we were only provided with one pack of three cotton pads and one bottle of lotion in that same period. Needless to say we had to request more when these basic toiletries should have been made readily available. This brings me to what I'd term poor communication: We needed to make a good few requests during our stay and were most often met with lacking comprehension. We were placed on hold several times (for extended periods) while someone that understood English could be located or freed up. This should not have been the case given that this property is a Starwood luxury hotel in a major city. Quite a few of our requests could and should have been addressed when we checked in--especially those that involved how things worked in our provided room. If a few simple questions and instructions were incorporated into the check-in process, we would have saved both time and frustration. That brings me to the pool. Yes, it's beautiful on the website, but our experience of it was anything but. It's a veritable soup-bowl of bodies. Literally. People were jammed onto sunbeds like sardines and the pool was teeming with people. All in all there seems to be little oversight in this area, which is short-sighted given how small the pool area and pool itself is relative to the hotel. Fortunately, we weren't really aiming for a day of leisure by the pool as we'd just come from the coast, but we would have liked to have a space to relax by the pool as we cooled off one early evening. What we were relegated to was finding our own towels, laying our clothes on the one empty bench in the pool area, and taking a quick dip in and out. Some may simply chalk this pool-related commentary up to bad timing, but I had a sidelong view of the pool from our room and it was always overcrowded the weekend we stayed. On the subject of timing, the breakfast buffet was good, but also a bit of a fiasco. More than anything, I felt like I was at a local market jostling for position. The tables that are positioned in front of the main buffet area should be removed. There were also a good few "out of control" kids about: one of which grabbed for a glass I was filling, another that bounced off my leg and fell backwards, etc. I get that this isn't the hotels domain so much as the parents, but it was disruptive enough to be noteworthy (and thus to diminish our experience). One morning I placed an order for two omelettes (both of which were exactly the same), only to return after 15ish minutes to find that the "chef" had forgotten our order. She also obviously forgot me as well because I lingered close by several times before I inquired as to the status of our eggs. I can't say that we didn't enjoy our overall stay. We did. A good part of that was attributable to the city versus this hotel specifically, though. There were certain moments and certain individuals who were highlights of our stay. We enjoyed a dinner in the courtyard, which was lovely. I was surprised by a bottle of cava and a sizeable slice of cake on my birthday! One of the managers, in particular, was very kind and attentive and he upped our hotel-specific enjoyment. He was there when we checked in, he inquired about the birthday surprise, and he was there when we checked out. BOTTOM LINE: This is an great hotel, but it has a way to go before it truly can be billed as a five-star property. I don't know that we'd stay here again given the challenges we faced, but this hotel is definitely worth a visit regardless.

Yelp
If you cant afford staying at the hotel dont miss going to the cafe. Really nice experience. Good atention and you get to have a coffee at Alfonso

Yelp
It's missing one star because of breakfast. The hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location. The rooms are incredible. Every detail focused. Staff could not be better. Rooms and hallways beautifully clean. However. And this is a big however , the morning breakfast is not great. It's sad because I could see this as a morning meeting destination. A challenge for any hotel in Spain when it comes to restaurants is the competition from all the tapas bars etc. You walk out the front door and they're everywhere. But I could also see this restaurant bustling because of its setting. But the cafe con leche is not traditional. And that is not good. Theirs is basically espresso with milk poured on top. But in a cafe it's almost an art form of how it's combined. Their espresso is also not great. Go to one of the best morning spots in Seville and just steal the recipe. Also, their plane toast is just that. I could be anywhere in the states and get it. Offer breads that we haven't tried. More traditional flare. Otherwise as a hotel , it perfect.

Yelp
... we drove in to Sevilla late in the afternoon; was a long ass drive from Guadalupe. That being said, when we drove up I immediately noticed how grand this property was.... and as we check in, which was seamless - I mean staff were very helpful and friendly, I was amazed on how 'old-school' this place was. Very unique and beautiful lobby. We booked into a grand deluxe room.. which I thought, for the four-days we were they, was quite regal. Hotel is walking distance to a lot of wonderfully historical places... best time to go? April. Why? The April Festivities... tha's why. Would I stay here again? Heck-to-da-YES... It's a beautiful hotel...

Yelp
Hotel is top notch. Having stayed in a lot of luxury hotels from Switzerland(beau rivage palace) to Greece and now in Spain, this hotel right there at the top. There are three restaurants inside the hotel and the Taifas, the Lebanese restaurant has to be the best. It's tucked away by the pool in the back but the food is out of the world. The main restaurant which is inside the hotel is also very good. The Ena bar and restaurant on the other side of the hotel is average. The service is on point.

World class facility. Magnificent public spaces, eating areas, beautiful rooms. Warm, friendly staff. Perfect location, just blocks from the major sights.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful stay in the breathtaking palace/hotel. The service is definitely a 5-star one, the reception staff are friendly, the concierge is willing to help you any time you wish, the room service is always at your service, the room was clean, spacious, tidy and extremely comfortable. The location is in the city center close to all monuments. Even when we were checking out and being helped with the luggage, one of the porters gave me 2 bottles of water for the road.

Yelp
Avoid the restaurant for holidays! We made a reservation here for what we hoped would be a very memorable Christmas Eve. The decor and building are spectacular, the service and food are subpar at best. We prepaid the entire dinner (~130 euros per person for six people). First, they could not find our reservation. I understand this can happen, and so we were fine when the host informed us (once he had confirmed our reservation through their business email account) that they would set us up a table immediately and serve us complimentary champagne while we waiting. 20 minutes later, champagne never came and we were informed that our table would be in a separate room due to space limitations (as in, a converted conference room without the decorations, live music, etc. in the main room). Several reservations were clearly "lost" because more tables were set up near us once we arrived, and the wait staff looked continuously FRAZZLED. Food was terrible. First squid dish was good, after that all downhill - incredibly salty white fish, way over cooked venison that was difficult to even cut, and a Christmas Yule log that tasted like a grocery store cake. Wine was constantly empty, and at one point my mother got up and picked up a water bottle from the side table to refill our glasses herself.

Yelp
Exquisite hotel with Andalusian design from the 20's. Great service and prime location in seville. Would stay here every time!

Yelp
I highly recommend this hotel. It is definitely worth the price. Although the hotel is right in the midst of the craziness, being inside the hotel shuns the craziness and creates a sense of sleeping in a ancient palace.
