I was looking to take my mum to Amsterdam and found this to be just the place for couple of quiet and cosy nights. Room was clean and tidy, I loved that we had our desk and kettle with essentials provided for us. Reception staff was very kind and helpful. We didn't spend much time apart from resting and sleeping and it was a perfect option for us as we explored the (heart of) town that was 30 mins by walk from the hotel. Hotel is affordable compared to other prices that can be found closer to central station, however one of the main canals was 5 mins walk from the hotel which was a pleasure to experience especially in warmer months when you don't have to worry about crazy rain attacks.

The affordable lower floor rooms are quiet and comfortable beyond my expectations. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean, there is a kettle and TV. There is tea and coffee. I can't comment on this because I didn't have breakfast. hotel staff are courteous and helpful. There is a room where you can leave your luggage after checkout.

My first ever holiday in 37 years and honestly it's been the most wonderful experience. We chose an apartment which was very reasonably priced, the bed was so comfortable best sleep I've had in months. You are able to cook but we mainly ate out. The tram was right around the corner to take you to central station and they were quite regular every 10 minutes but we were happy to walk and explore everywhere. Couldn't check in until 3pm but we were able to leave our bags at the hotel reception and wander the city. Check out was super easy too. We didn't need any extra help so didn't need to ask for extras etc

it's more of a hostel than a hotel. the bed is covered in hair, dirty pillows, the room is very small. not to mention the contingent that lives there, constant noise and shouting from neighbors to which the administrator does not respond. three stars is too much for such a hostel.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and honestly was very good value for money seeming we booked very close to the time we wanted to stay here. The rooms, towels, bedding, toilet and shower were clean. The view from the room was lovely and very scenic. The rooms were cleaned daily, which we appreciated. The staff at the front desk were very kind, helpful and personable - we saw different people most days and they were all absolutely lovely. The rooms had a kettle and the shower was hot, although a little bit small but this is understandable. Had a hair dryer, ironing board and lots of plug sockets too. The wall mounted TV facing the bed was a great addition after a long day of walking. Location was an easy 15 - 20 minute walk away from town and 3 minutes around the corner from the Breakfast Club - an amazing little cafe for breakfast and lunch. The zoo is only 7 minutes away by walking and there are tram stops literally right outside the hotel door. The room was not too loud either, we could hear the comings and goings of other people staying but no more than any other hotel. We made good use of the vending machine in the lobby when tired after a day exploring and wanting a quick drink. Overall, this was a great standard hotel as it was clean, had lovely staff, useful location and had good amenities. Thank you for the lovely stay and we will hopefully be back soon!

Great hotel on excellent location for exploring the old city. Main public transport within 100 meter. Very friendly staff. In the middle of the University district with lots of restaurants, shops, museums and coffeeshops within walking distance.

Bed bugs!!! Thought they were mosquito bites, but after a trip to the hospital after an allergic reaction, I was told they were bed bug bites by the dermatologist. I told the hotel and they told me they would close off the room and treat it, but I read another review reporting of bed bugs, so obviously they've done nothing about it. They also told me they'd give me a refund, but then ghosted me. We also couldn't close our windows all the way and had no control over the temperature of our room. Good location, but I recommend staying somewhere that doesn't have bed bugs. I'm literally and emotionally scarred.

Me and my wife stayed at Hotel Allure in Amsterdam from 27. - 30. May 2024 and were highly disappointed with our experience. Despite the calm location and proximity to the city center, several issues made my stay quite unpleasant.||Firstly, we encountered bed bugs, which is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel. My wife got bitten almost 30 times. We then could change the room for our last night, but she got another 3 bites.|This not only caused discomfort but also raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the establishment.||The carpets in the room were another major issue. They were filthy and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. In fact, they were so dirty that they could be described as a "cum rag," which is a shocking and disgusting state for any hotel room.||Additionally, parts of our first room were incredibly dusty. It was clear that the cleaning staff had not done their job properly, as surfaces were covered in a noticeable layer of dust.||Given these problems, the rather high price of the hotel is completely unjustified. I expected much better for the cost. A (partly) refund would be appreciated. ||While the location of Hotel Allure is rather calm and still conveniently close to the center, this alone does not compensate for the severe cleanliness and hygiene issues. I would not recommend staying here until these problems are addressed. And by that I mean some renovations including removing the carpets.

Yelp
Perfectly nice hotel with no particular personality (disclaimer: I'm a big B&B/Airbnb fan). Clean, well run, in a convenient location about a 30 minute walk or easy transit ride from the central station and heart of Amsterdam. In room refrigerator! The windows can be opened, but it can be noisy at night if other guests are outside drinking and toking up. There are a couple of ground floor rooms in a separate building in the backyard that I liked best.
There's a significant extra charge for wifi but they were quite willing to waive it each time I asked. i don't know if they'll always do that, so I suggest requiring it as a condition of booking.
On a very pleasant street about a block from transit. We didn't buy the separate breakfast, so can't comment on that. Regarding rates, better to book in advance as they seem to work on a demand pricing basis. We planned on one night, and ended up staying a week. Every day or two when we wanted to extend our stay, the price got higher. By the end we were paying 50% more than at the start. This was not exploitation, just that the price rose as demand increased.
Your car is pretty useless inside a large area of Amsterdam, so you may as well park it somewhere. Street parking in all of inner Amsterdam (including near the Allure) is prohibitive, garages very expensive. I street parked two good walks and a short ferry ride away on Asterweg in the nearest free parking zone. No one bothered my car for the whole week it was there. Incidentally, parking illegally for even a short time can be expensive as the city uses a combination of wireless parking machines and license plate scanners to cite violators. You can't tell when you're car is being checked.
