We booked an apartment at the Hotel Allure for our autumn holiday in Amsterdam (the apartment was about 10 minutes from the hotel in the Muidergracht plantation) and were not disappointed. Everything we needed (dishwasher, coffee machine, cutlery, plates, towels...etc.) was provided and served us well for the week. A small note: The water pressure in the bathroom wasn't particularly high, and the Wi-Fi signal and bandwidth were rather weak... but the lovely atmosphere of the apartment and its central location more than made up for it. Check-in and check-out were very pleasant, and the staff were extremely friendly! If we come back to Amsterdam, we will definitely look for another apartment from Allure! Best regards from Austria!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL OR THE APARTMENTS!!!!||We arrived at the check in and given our room key, then had to walk 10 minutes down the road to get to our apartment. Once arriving at our apartment, we walked in and there were still 2 cleaners in the room. They seemed to be very chaotic and throwing stuff around and asked us to wait outside for 5 minutes. ||Once they gave us the green light to go inside. Stepping into the apartment, you got hit with an awful smell. The stairs were damaged and dirty. The floor in the rooms looked as though they had been collecting dust for months, maybe even years. Intertwined in the dust, under the bed, were dirty socks (around 8 of them to be exact), gel, food wrappers and dirty tissues. This is DISGUSTING. ||After seeing a state I have never once seen before in an apartment/hotel, I decided to look around more. Looking in the bathroom, there was mould on the walls and random stains in the shower. The bin in the kitchen was falling apart and we found that this is where the revolting smell was coming from. After removing the bin liner, there was mouldy food and empty food wrappers underneath. ||I immediately called the receptionist and explained what was discovered. She apologised but also responded in a way that suggests that these complaints happen a lot. I was then asked to walk back to the check in to ‘sort this out’. The lack of attentiveness was appalling, It felt as though she didn’t care at all. She mentioned she spoke to the manager, however, the manager never came out to speak about the situation, nor did they apologise. ||Truly the WORST experience ever. ||Please please please do not book this hotel unless you want an illness or bedbugs.

Two words….. BED. BUGS. We checked this place high and low for them and didn’t see anything, but both my husband and I woke up with bed bug bites. Aside from that, the workers are rude and unhelpful. The rooms are FILTHY - stains everywhere. We were placed in a garden unit with no air. There was no screen on the window, so we couldn’t sleep with the windows open or leave the room with the windows open. If we did have windows open, people were smoking outside our windows at all hours so we were constantly getting smoke into our room. It’s not worth saving the few hundred dollars to just stay down the street at a reputable establishment…

Pros: Good location. Very near metro. 4 stops from central station. Staff was friendly. Room was warm. Supermarket 2 minute walk. Cons: Check-in was slow. Room was OK but could do with a DEEP clean. Stains on most things. Curtains, bedding, walls etc. Fridge didn't work. There was always something going on in hotel from 9am. Hoovering, banging or drilling. Sleeping on and relaxing was never a option!

I booked the week before a non refundable 2 days reservation. 2 days after I was hospitalised for a serious event. They were informed immediately via booking platform but they missed the mail. 4 days after (the day before of the reservation) I contacted them for an update, they confirmed they didn’t see the original email and asked me to send evidence of the event. This is what I immediately did. They come back to me refusing any kind of refund. I think it’s compliant with the terms and conditions, but it’s a real shame in terms of good faith and customer service. Why asking for evidence if you already know the response is a no? Not recommend this hotel

My niece and I stayed at the Hotel Allure|April 21-24. |The staff were very nice and the hotel is conveniently located. |BUT, my niece and I discovered that they have had an infestation of bedbugs since 2024, and have not fixed this problem? Absolutely unacceptable and preventable! |Both my niece and I are bitten and now we must clean and disinfect everything in our own homes, plus dealing with the bites. |Do NOT stay at this hotel right now.

The affordable lower floor rooms are quiet and comfortable beyond my expectations. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean, there is a kettle and TV. There is tea and coffee. I can't comment on this because I didn't have breakfast. hotel staff are courteous and helpful. There is a room where you can leave your luggage after checkout.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and honestly was very good value for money seeming we booked very close to the time we wanted to stay here. The rooms, towels, bedding, toilet and shower were clean. The view from the room was lovely and very scenic. The rooms were cleaned daily, which we appreciated. The staff at the front desk were very kind, helpful and personable - we saw different people most days and they were all absolutely lovely. The rooms had a kettle and the shower was hot, although a little bit small but this is understandable. Had a hair dryer, ironing board and lots of plug sockets too. The wall mounted TV facing the bed was a great addition after a long day of walking. Location was an easy 15 - 20 minute walk away from town and 3 minutes around the corner from the Breakfast Club - an amazing little cafe for breakfast and lunch. The zoo is only 7 minutes away by walking and there are tram stops literally right outside the hotel door. The room was not too loud either, we could hear the comings and goings of other people staying but no more than any other hotel. We made good use of the vending machine in the lobby when tired after a day exploring and wanting a quick drink. Overall, this was a great standard hotel as it was clean, had lovely staff, useful location and had good amenities. Thank you for the lovely stay and we will hopefully be back soon!

Yelp
Perfectly nice hotel with no particular personality (disclaimer: I'm a big B&B/Airbnb fan). Clean, well run, in a convenient location about a 30 minute walk or easy transit ride from the central station and heart of Amsterdam. In room refrigerator! The windows can be opened, but it can be noisy at night if other guests are outside drinking and toking up. There are a couple of ground floor rooms in a separate building in the backyard that I liked best. There's a significant extra charge for wifi but they were quite willing to waive it each time I asked. i don't know if they'll always do that, so I suggest requiring it as a condition of booking. On a very pleasant street about a block from transit. We didn't buy the separate breakfast, so can't comment on that. Regarding rates, better to book in advance as they seem to work on a demand pricing basis. We planned on one night, and ended up staying a week. Every day or two when we wanted to extend our stay, the price got higher. By the end we were paying 50% more than at the start. This was not exploitation, just that the price rose as demand increased. Your car is pretty useless inside a large area of Amsterdam, so you may as well park it somewhere. Street parking in all of inner Amsterdam (including near the Allure) is prohibitive, garages very expensive. I street parked two good walks and a short ferry ride away on Asterweg in the nearest free parking zone. No one bothered my car for the whole week it was there. Incidentally, parking illegally for even a short time can be expensive as the city uses a combination of wireless parking machines and license plate scanners to cite violators. You can't tell when you're car is being checked.
