We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in January. Everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, we also had balcony with a stunning view of the Matterhorn. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We also had a couple of dinners at PeakFine restaurant and absolutely loved the food there. The SPA was amazing as well, pool, jacuzis, especially the one outside, sauna, steam bath, onsen, everything was perfect! Cleaning was done daily and everything was spotless. The location is also very convenient, just about a 5-minute walk to the railway station. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We had an outstanding stay at Alpen Resort in July of 2025. The hotel was perfect for us - we stayed in a panorama family room and our kids still talk about how much they loved it! Check in was friendly and reception was helpful anytime we had questions. The location was great for us - not too far from the train station, but quiet enough that we could enjoy the spectacular Matterhorn view in peace. Breakfast buffet was stellar and even though a group had come through before us the staff refilled everything promptly. We also really enjoyed the pool area and used it more than we thought we would! Thank you, Alpen Resort staff for such a wonderful stay, we hope to be back again in the future!

If you are looking for a great hotel with amazing staff and a great spa....This is your hotel. Michelle in the lounge and bar area was tremendous in ensuring we had a great stay. Everyone is friendly with great restaurants and nightlife right in the hotel. Celine was quick to answer all our questions about the hotel and the village....Amazing location with a quick walk to train station and Gornergrat railway to the top of the mountain. The skiing was amazing but our hotel stay really made it. Well done Hotel Alpen, I can't wait to see you again...Your made your Canadian friends very happy!

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The rooms were spacious and clean with fantastic views to the Matterhorn. We had ample choices for places to eat, 3 of which were located in the hotel itself. The outdoor sauna and resort facilities were impeccable. Very close to town and exceptional service. Highly recommend! Feels like a 5 star hotel!

Just spent a week here as a group of 5 half board. Lovely hotel with spacious clean airy rooms. Food generally excellent through the week with a couple of exceptions. Seemed to be some issues with restaurant as we were advised one evening that we did not have reservations despite being half board. Special mention to Tania and especially Aleksandra who was incredibly attentive to us all week and did her very best to ensure we were looked after which we were. Leisure facility excellent. Bit of a walk to Sunnega or Gornergrat for first uplift but overall excellent.

This place deserves more love. Here is why; I had an early departure for a train and I was very stressed because my key cards wouldn’t work to open up my ski locker to get my skis. Walking back to the room, finding more keys, stopping at the front desk many times to check to see if the attendants were there yet. With minuets to spare before departure on an international flight. Then Luisa shows up. Saint! Goddess! Figures it all out, walks me down personally before her shift starts, unlocks my locker. AND sends me on my way with a goody bag of snacks and fruits! A very nice and quaint resort with good size of rooms. I recently stayed there with my family of 4 and they had said that the rooms are only 20m2 but in fact they are quite big. The resort is very cosy in itself and has 2 good restaurants. The staff named Antonella from Italy is a delight as she helped us get a table on both nights when her manager who was super rude and clearly refused us to give a table despite staying in the hotel and despite there being a lot of empty tables around. She made our experience very smooth when her manager was being very difficult and throwing attitude.

Location s good - walking distance from the train station but when you leave e the hotel to catch the train, suggest you ask the reception to arrange the complimentary pick up as the way to train station from hotel is slightly uphill. You can see Matterhorn from the hotel grounds. Also we booked an entry room and were upgraded to a room located in the building where the spa is and with beautiful views of snow capped mountains and the Matterhorn. The room is big and quiet with bathrobes and slippers for wellness access where there’s a whirlpool, swimming pool and gym and play area for younger ones. There’s also an outdoor jacuzzi. The breakfast was very good with warm soup served. There’s 2 restaurants opened even though it was low season in November. Very good hotel.

Book here now. We were in the "C" building on the second floor and it was incredibly! I can't even begin to tell you how happy we were with our room, our view and the service. They have a wonderful restaurant downstairs that has similar prices that most hotels in the area have. There's also a spa/pool downstairs that offers complete relaxation after a long day of travel or skiing. The staff was great and so was the room. Loved it!
