The Restaurant in Hotel offers a fantastic experience all around. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The views are nothing short of breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains that make every meal feel special. Portions are generous, ensuring you’ll leave satisfied, and the food itself is delicious—whether you're enjoying a hearty breakfast or a leisurely lunch, the quality and taste are top-notch. It's definitely a spot that combines great service, incredible scenery, and tasty food all in one.

Hotel alpenruh is beautiful. Great location and the view from the balcony is amazing. Staff for checkin were very friendly. We ate at the restaurant and food was very good. Staff were excellent as well. Housekeeper daily is very friendly and appreciated her cleaning room daily. Breakfast that is included is very basic but good enough. Make sure you take the tram by hotel to avoid the long walk with baggage. Construction by hotel is annoying but not much hotel can do about it. The only con is during our stay it was very hot and there is not fan/ac for rooms. If I could suggest one thing is adding fans to rooms on hot days. Having windows open didn’t help much. :/ Also we LOVED the hotel cat.

Friendly staff, especially at the front desk. Best balcony view of any hotel room I've stayed in. Amazing food - highly recommend the sous vide ribs. There is some nearby construction, but my room was on the opposite end and even on the balcony it was very tolerable. Will be back with my partner 😀

Terrible service and not child friendly restaurant! The location and view from restaurant is amazing but you will need to wait forever to make an order. Maybe it will be easier if you have no child with you.

They gave us the one room overlooking the major construction going on right next to the hotel. The managers, Marco and Ben, refuse to offer any kind of compensation after taking nearly $1500 for our stay. Horrible treatment by management. I have videos of construction vehicles going past our windows starting early every morning. Wasn’t able to sleep. Nobody warned us before checking in. Don’t stay here if you want a good night’s sleep.

This hotel, located at the end of town in gorgeous Murren, offers a nice, clean and well appointed room with a friendly and supportive staff. The manager who welcomed us was always attentive and quick to help. Location is about 10-15 minute walk from train station adjacent to the tram. Not a huge deal unless it's raining, snowing. Room was very small, but had AMAZING views of Junfrau, Eiger and Monch montains. The views alone made it worth the stay. Other than the tight quarters, I'd recommend this place, especially if you're planning on using the tram to visit Schilthorn, Gimmelwald, etc.

Stayed in May 2024: Hotel is in a stunning location and very conveniently located just steps away from the Schilthorn cable car station. There's an attached restaurant, and if you are arriving after the narrow official check-in window, there's an option to check in with the restaurant staff. Nice that they're flexible! Staff was very friendly and the rooms are bigger than what the photos show! We had a room that featured the striking views of the mountains from our balconies. Our rooms had plenty of seating and also tables available which was helpful to utilize the space. It was always comfortable in the room even though there was no temperature control, and there's always the option to open the window for some Alpine mountain air. Our hair dryer wasn't working and the wifi was spotty (if on, very fast) but we lived. The breakfast options sometimes ran out of food early (esp for popular items like boiled egg or plain yogurt) and the walls are a little thin, but otherwise a very convenient and beautiful stay!

We went for a meal with some Swiss friends. Lovely place, really good service and the food was excellent with enormous portions. One salad between two is ample for even the hungriest skier. Prices not too bad given it is in a ski resort. Really enjoyed the evening.

Yelp
Cute little hotel right by the lift. Very nice modern rooms. A little elevator and small stairs. Newly renovated rooms, very clean. Views are spectacular, unfortunately by the time I took pictures the winter storm rolled in. Everything is white up here. We also ate at the restaurant. Very delicious food, fast service and large portions.

Yelp
We stayed at Alpenruh in July, so we almost always had unobstructed views of Eiger, Munch and Jungfrau every morning. Seeing the gliders take off from the grassy patch on the mountainside in the evenings didn't hurt either. Clean, cozy rooms with comfy beds. What tilted our decision toward Alpenruh vs the other choices was the free breakfast voucher offered at the top of Schilthorn in Piz Glorida. I'm very happy with that decision as it was a fantastic experience, to see all the way to Interlaken while sitting on a chair sipping coffee. The hotel staff were helpful and Ferdinand is an entertaining and friendly host. The breakfast was good, but the flies were a bit annoying. So maybe put up an electric fly killer? There was one complaint though: after a long day of hiking, we came home to take a shower but by the time it was my turn (I'm glad my wife and son were already done), the water started to get too cold. Called front desk, they came and checked the shower, and promised it will be fixed soon. Still no hot water after a while, and since nobody was at reception after 6, I just skipped the shower for that night (didn't bother to call the emergency number). No big deal. But things didn't improve in the morning. I told the front desk and was told the boiler had broken last night, nobody else had hot water, and it will be fixed immediately. OK, things happen. But again, no hot water in the afternoon! This was too much, and after another complaint, I guess we got lucky and it was fixed. I understand things can break, but I think a hotel in the mountains should have a pretty robust hot water system, and perhaps a backup boiler? I don't know if this was a factor or not, but we were offered a free luggage drop (~50 CHF value?) to the Murren BLM when we checked out, which saved us a Stechelberg bus transfer when going back to Interlaken. So that was nice. I would stay at Alpenruh again, but I'll consider the other options more carefully now that I have seen Piz Gloria.

Yelp
Ferdinand is the nicest man we've met in Europe! Very helpful, very accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and the first one off the gondola. The room was very nice and the breakfast overlooking the alps, amazing. Fantastic experience! Would love to go back to ski!
