Hotel Alpha, Garni

The hotel is quite near to the train station (~10-15mins walk) which is what we look for. The price is good. We got the room with attached toilet. Beddings are comfortable. They even provided a simple breakfast though it was not included in the booking, very nice. The lady at the receptionist was nice and patient too. As the hotel did not provide kettle, the lady kindly lent us one.

Nice clean hotel. within walking distance from the train station. We had a room that had a bathroom with toilet and shower. This is a no frills hotel. The room was decent size for Europe and they gave us a fan since it was a little warm when we arrived. The breakfast was filling and the front desk personnel were friendly. Easy walking to old town and tram stops. They give you a travel pass that allows free travel in local buses and trams. We stayed for 2 nights and felt good about it.

We spent three nights here. Our dormitory-like room was basic with white walls. No frills, but we did have a private bathroom with a shower. The hotel is situated in a neighborhood so has a good homey feel to it. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station with bus transport within the block. The front desk staff were friendly, there were copies of The New York Times to read each morning, the breakfast area was inviting and the spread, while not extensive, was plentiful and you had choices. It is a good budget friendly choice to make in Switzerland.

We spent one night in this quiet hotel near the center of Luzerne. The surroundings of the hotel were pleasant and peaceful, as was the hotel itself. Our room was very simple, dormitory-like, but beds were ok. The shower was shared with others. The hotel also had rooms with showers (also with a balcony) but they were sold out. Everything was clean. There was no air conditioning, so it can be hot in the room in the middle of summer. The hotel's breakfast was ordinary but sufficient. The parking lot was next to the hotel. The hotel is quite affordable priced compared to the Swiss price level, so together with the good location, it is highly recommended but please do not expect 5 star accommodation!

Value for money. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. It's located 10 minutes walk from the Lucerne railway station. But there are buses to reach there. Check-in and Check-out are easy. Everything was great. Shared bathrooms were also quiet and clean. Breakfast was great and It was buffet. There are open play areas just outside the hotel.

Clean and comfortable stay. About 10 min by bus and short walk to the hotel from Lucerne station and it’s on a quiet street. Only thing to note is the sound of people staying above can be heard especially if they arrive late or leave very early. Otherwise it’s a good accommodation in Lucerne!

I really liked the staff so helpful and so hospitable. They even gave me free pas for public transportation and discount in museums. The Hotel was sparkling clean. Location is good only 10 min walk to the center.

A great hotel in a quiet area! We particularly enjoyed:|1. The area - close enough to the train station to walk (with very clear directions provided by the hotel when we booked), but very quiet (our room had a view of the mountains with lovely windows that opened up fully). Also easy to catch the bus only a block or two from the hotel, directly to the train station and boat dock;|2. Fantastic breakfast (contrary to other reviews, I did not find variety to be a problem), and good quality - we particularly loved the colourful boiled eggs and the friendly greeting from staff in the mornings. The breakfast room is light and spacious - great to sit next to the window for a bit of atmosphere and a view. Excellent coffee;|3. Super friendly lady on reception (I think her name is Sylvia) who greeted us so cheerily when we went out in the evening;|4. Simple no-fuss and spacious room (ours had a private bathroom) which was very clean. The building is old, but so is Switzerland ;-) It added to the charm. Super comfortable beds and bedding. No TV, but you don’t need to watch tv when you are in such a beautiful place! Shower has good pressure and lots of hot water - soap and towels etc provided by the hotel; |5. The price!
