Hotel Alter Kornspeicher

This an excellent hotel with friendly and helpful service. My room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel has a great location adjacent to a small lake. I didn’t have breakfast but I ate dinner in the restaurant - the food and service were very good.

We booked two rooms next to each other, one with a seaview for a family gathering five month in advance. The seaview was very important to me , that is why I chose this expensive hotel.|On arrival we found that the reception was in the adjacent hotel and we were handed keys to rooms on different floors although I had phoned the day before to ensure that we had the rooms we had booked.|We found we had one room facing a bit of lawn and the other one overlooking the street . We returned to reception to ask what had happend to our seaview booking and an employee came with us. When I asked again where the seaview was she pointed to the street!|I went back to reception and asked what happened to our booking and was told in a very rude manner that that were all the rooms they had available and if I did not like it she could cancel our booking. Unfortumnately the little town was totally booked out so we would have beeen on the street.|I negotiuated a free breakfast for us on one day, however I did expect to be charged for the rooms we had and not for a Delux room with a seaview, airconditioning and safe which neither of our rooms had.|Unbelievable!|

Nice, spacious and clean hotel room. We had a room which was very new (didn’t have a room nr yet) at the end of a hallway. It was well equiped with a little seating area. The floor was soft and looked clean. ||Great breakfast and you could see the staff was keeping an eye on it to replenish things when needed. ||We came by bike and could park them in a closed garage. ||Two things why it didn’t exceed my expectations:|- the bathroom was rather improvised with little space for basic toiletries|- internet didn’t work properly||The hotels location is great, right at the waterside with some cafe’s and terraces.

Excellent hotel in a historic building (former grain storage building), inside ancient atmosphere was kept. Spacious and well equipped rooms. Good price/service balance. Free parking. Good working WLAN. Breakfast OK. Restaurant serving variety of fine and tasty local dishes. Hotel on walking distance (2 minutes) to yacht harbour that opens the door to the wonderful Mecklenburger Seeplatte. Motorboat renting possible for eventual trips all the way to the Baltic Sea. A few minutes walking to the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff and personnel in the restaurant/bar.

I stayed one night in this hotel during my cycling trip through Germany. It is a new hotel, but old elements of the grain silo have been preserved. The hotel is beautifully situated on the old harbor and 100 meters from the Zierker Lake. Around the harbor are some bars and restaurants. The hotel has a lovely terrace on the quiet side. I enjoyed my dinner and glass of wine on this terrace, and have experienced staff as very friendly, attentive and helpful. Thanks for taking care of my bike! My room was spacious, had a good bed and good bath facilities. Breakfast was excellent! All in all a great place and highly recommended.

A spacious room with a very comfortable bed and a full bathtub. NIce windows and a balcony. Is close to lake and a short walk to town. Dinner and breakfast at hotel restaurant were excellent. This was a great place to start our bike tour.

Restaurant got a very good atmosphere. Food also delicious and nature.
