Hotel Altos de Balcarce

This was a nice hotel in a good location. It was easy to walk everywhere. I have given it an excellent as although it is not 5 star, for the price it is great value. The rooms are smallish but sufficient, we had a balcony so were able to sit outside in privacy. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The breakfast was nice and we had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was great with excellent service.||||The staff were friendly and helpful without been over bearing. There were one or two that spoke English which was helpful. The outside area was beautifully kept with a lovely pool. All in all we had a great stay.... thanks so much. If I return to Salta I will most definitely stay here again

Very basic hotel. Rooms were clean to a point but one of our beds had what looked like blood on the dust sheet and there were stains on the blankets. Sheets were clean. The "curtains" were grubby and paper thin, made of a plastic material - like a shower curtain - and hanging off the rail. In our room for 3 people we had one tiny wardrobe containing 3 mismatched coat hangers. The bathroom was clean and functional. The hotel was occupied and the clientele were quiet. Breakfast was adequate. A choice of two different kinds of croissant, toast, jams, teas, very good coffee. There was fruit salad made almost entirely of apples. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. There is a pool but it was drained for maintenance while we were there. The area around it was well kept. It is about 15 minutes walk to the main square.

This hotel is located about 10 minute walk from the main square town. Rooms are basic for a 3 star hotel. No fridge and not enough storage room. Clean bathroom. Good breakfast with fruits. Staff was very friendly, helpful and smiling.

This hotel is about 6 blocks from the main square where the cathedral and museums are located.It is located on a lively street which was not noisy (Balcarce 747) It was very clean but no frills. There were 2 computers available for the guests.||The front office staff were very pleasant and my poor Spanish was not a problem. ||The hotel offers a modest, cold breakfast in a cheerful salon at the back of the lobby. This room looks out to a swimming pool. In early Dec. it was not yet warm enough for me to want to have a dip.

We stayed here for two nights in Salta. We were not impressed for the price but it was OK. The rooms were clean and the AC worked well. Rooms were quite spartan. Breakfast was OK but offerings were a bit sparse. Very nice that the pool had a shallow end for the kids - spent a lot of time there. Location is very convenient for the center of town as well as balcarce restaurants.

This hotel is fine for a short stay. The room was average, but clean. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is not that great - typical Argentine sweets but nothing more. It's located just a 10 minute walk from the center.

Nice hotel, rooms were a bit small but everything was clean, staff was very kind and helpfull (most of them were speaking english what is not that common in Argentina), breakfast was one the best we had in our two and a half weeks holidays. Would recommend it!

I was traveling with two friends this past long weekend and we decided to take a late night bus back to Salta from Jujuy. When we got to Salta, we visited at least 10 different hotels and hostels for almost two hours in the cold trying to find a room with no luck. One receptionist was kind enough to call Altos Balcarce for us and they had a room. The receptionist there, Jose, was kind and accommodating. He completely turned around our stressful night and offered us an extra hour for check-out even though the hotel was completely booked for the holiday the next day, so we could get a little more sleep in. We stayed in a triple and loved how cozy yet spacious the room was. Our stay was short, but it ended up being our best one on our 5-night trip.
