Hotel Am Großen Waisenhaus

Stayed 1 night. Good location to old town and attractions. Paid Car park €10 few minutes wal, pick key at hotel to open barrier. Reception is, in bar area and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Good free WIFI, and paid car parking. Bedroom was comfortable size clean with TV. 1 comfortable 2 single bed together clean. Bathroom is ensuite and very clean with toiletries. Large shower. Coffee making facilities  in room.  Breakfast was excellent lots of choice, cold meats, cheeses, hot food also, salmon fish. Selection buns, cakes, pastries. Plenty juice and coffee. Would highly recommend and would stay again, especially  if visiting for old town as only 1 minute walk up the road

A very decent place to stay while in Potsdam. It has a few parking spaces at an adjacent street which is convenient but first you need to check in at the hotel and get (correct) key to the parking. The room was very large, equipped in coffee machine and safe but also quite simple and not super cozy and fridge was the thing we missed most from it. Breakfast was though the thing we will mostly remember. Large choice of cold and warm dishes as well as drinks is what gives this hotel its highest value and compensates other inconveniences.. We can recommend.

I stayed here for two nights primarily to visit Sanssouci and the Wannsee. If I return in future I will be sure to stay here again.||||The hotel is completely refurbished in an older, charming building, clean, with modern amenities. My room was very large with lovely bathroom and very nice coffee and tea making tray. It was quiet and there is an elevator.||||Good breakfast with two or three rooms to choose where to sit. The food, particularly the eggs, was delicious.||||Location is good, close to public transport. There’s a very good Asian restaurant across the street.||Staff is very accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel had a very good location, very central. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very minimalistic and some dishes were cold. The hygiene concept in Corona times was also not very well thought out. The room was not well cleaned. Stains on the towels and the bedspread. This is my experience at this hotel. Other guests may have felt differently.

This hotel is quite nice, but I think it is slightly overpriced. The rooms are nice and large, plenty of space, clean and there is a reliable free WiFi service.||||The double beds are wonderful, but the single beds are a little bit too small, could be a bit bigger. There is no fridge or kettle in the the hotel. That means keeping your food in the hotel has a limited shelf life. Ladies....a hair dryer is there for you. No lotions provided, please bring your own. You pay about 98 Euros per day for a single room. Other hotels in the vicinity are slightly cheaper at about 60-75 Euros with a more added value such as tea/coffee facilities in the room; small fridge in the rooms.|| ||This Hotel is very close to the centre of town with easy connections to the public transport bus and tram systems to the main railway station, with easy connections to the Tegel and Schoenfeld Airports.||||I enjoyed my stay here but could have saved a few euros of about 20-30 Euros daily at a similar hotel in the vicinity. I stayed here for eight days. I am in the habit of comparing these places wherever I have the opportunity. This was my third stay in Potsdam. So each time I have tried a different place. The staff is helpful.

I stayed here on a business trip and extended the visit over the weekend. The rooms are large, simple and adequate. It was warm during my visit, but opening the window worked well! The breakfast is friendly and excellent. An ironing room was available, but no laundry service. By the time I found the laundry in the city it was too late to have clothes washed before moving on to the next hotel. ||Within walking distance of most that you may want to see. Trans and buses are close by and the hotel sells tickets.

Hotel am großen Waisenhaus is in walking distance of the Brandenburger Tor in Potsdam, so it's right in the center. |It is great that you have a bit of history in the building. |The rooms were quite clean and could be a bit more cosy but I slept really well. |The breakfast was just above and beyond. Tou could make your own fresh juice, they offered smoothies and everything else that you could wish for. |In my opinion one of the best hotel breakfast in awhile. |Covid hygiene could be a bit more compared to other hotels we stayed in but I still felt save.
