If you have sensitivity to fragrance, AVOID. The hotel itself is nice, good location tucked behind the concert house in a rehabbed brutalist building, and the design is cool - I loved the black terrazzo carpet in the hallways. However, and it’s a deal breaker, they pipe extremely pungent fragrance (chemical not natural) throughout the entire hotel. From the second you enter the lobby it’s asphyxiating and you can hardly breathe. It’s gag-worthy if you have even the slightest sensitivity. It was less pungent inside the room, but still prevalent. I had to find creative ways to get outside holding nose and breathing out. — I also have to second what others have said about the a/c in the room, which rumbles very loudly, and the only option is to turn it off. — And finally, I also have to second what others have said about the generally unhelpful front desk staff: I asked them to help me pre-book a rate-fixed taxi to the airport, and they didn’t. The clerk told me it was unnecessary because there is a taxi stand in front of the hotel. However, the regular taxis charge much more than rate-fixed pre-booked, and in the end I had to figure out how to book it on my own. — Overall, bit the best hotel experience, even for only one night. But good luck finding a decent hotel in Vienna.
