Where to Stay in Vienna on Your Trip (Updated 2025)

"This stylish four-star hotel has large, bright rooms with super comfy beds, spacious bathrooms with plush bathrobes and relaxing rain showers, and a huge breakfast buffet; I especially like that its on-site restaurant, Apron, holds a Michelin star and does amazing modern takes on traditional Austrian dishes, and the hotel is just a short walk to the Belvedere Palace." - Matthew Kepnes

The 6 Best Hotels in Vienna (Updated 2025)

"Located in Landstrasse near the Belvedere Palace, this luxe four-star hotel feels more like a five-star property with a chic lobby, large bright rooms, and super-comfy beds; the décor is fashionable and trendy with a richer, darker palette. The large bathrooms feature dark tiles, good lighting, plush bathrobes, and relaxing rain showers. Rooms include a flatscreen TV, desk, and coffee/tea maker; the breakfast buffet is huge with many options, and I especially love that the on-site restaurant holds a Michelin star and serves amazing modern takes on traditional Austrian dishes. It’s a great choice for travelers who want some luxury without breaking the bank." - Matthew Kepnes

What a gorgeous hotel! And full of Christmas magic. We were given a room upgrade which was greatly appreciated-very spacious, well appointed with coffee maker, robes and free minibar. We also loved the L’Occitane toiletries. Check in was seamless-we are 2 couples travelling together . Many extra touches made the stay really special-handwritten welcome note with chocolates, a card and wine for my husband’s birthday, and all staff were so helpful and friendly. Rooms very quiet, beds sooo comfortable and located close to the centre but still in a quiet area. Thank you for a memorable stay in beautiful Vienna!

Great location in the heart of the city. Rooms are spacious and clean. We were upgraded to free daily mini bar. Breakfast is very good and had a variety of food including hummus and vine leaves. And for the first time in my hotel stays, I was able to make my own fresh juice of carrot, cucumber, ginger and celery. I liked the idea.

We had a wonderful stay at Am Konzerthaus Hotel in Vienna. I was truly touched when the staff surprised me with a bottle of wine, chocolates and a beautiful birthday card. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture! 🎂✨ The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable, the breakfast is very good with great variety, and the entire staff is exceptionally polite, friendly, and professional. They really make you feel welcome and cared for. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose it again. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

Google
Comfortable modern hotel with a nice feel. Well furnished stylish rooms, although we changed room after the first night owing to an isolated noise incident; thereafter no issues. Excellent breakfast; we ate in the bar one evening and that was also good. Overall service very good. Location very good for city sightseeing as we were within walking distance of most sites. We would certainly stay here again if we return to Vienna.

Google
Very much enjoyed our stay here and would recommend. We had a deluxe room which was spacious with attractive contemporary decor. Location was very good - just outside the central ring road so quiet outside but an easy stroll in Vienna’s main attractions. Front desk staff were helpful and efficient. Apron restaurant is superb - see separate review. Two points for improvement: would have been good to have a smart TV (minor point) but more more significant, breakfast arrangements - on our final day there was no space other than an communal table in an adjacent windowless room. For €33 a head this should be better.

I celebrated my birthday here with friends a few weeks ago and it was an excellent experience. I had booked 4 rooms at the MGallery, with other guests staying in a different Accor hotels. What impressed me the most was how accomodating and flexible the hotel staff was. Organizing group trips is not always easy, and the team stayed open to my last-minute changes and requests. Especially Kevin, who I was in touch with several months before the trip, was extremely helpful, accomodating all my requested changes and sharing with me very detailed and personalised recommendations. The rooms are pretty large, and what impressed me the most was the quality of the mattresses. I slept so well! Overall, I can really recommend a stay at the MGallery. All my friends truly enjoyed their stay as well. You will experience excellent service - before, during and after the trip. I hope to be back!!

An enjoyable four-night stay here courtesy of Accor ALL reward nights. Good location to reach the centre of Vienna, with just a 10 minute walk to the ring road and the start f the heart if the city. The hotel looks a bit bleak and tired in the corridors, but the rooms are very nicely laid out, an excellent state of repair and spotlessly clean. Issues with the fan (no aircon), which only seemed to blow out boiling hot air. The bed was comfortable and the freebies in the room's fridge gratefully appreciated. Most of all, the staff we interacted with were first class, hence the 5-stars - nothing was too much trouble.

Google
This stay was extremely disappointing, especially for the price we paid. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt off. The elevator was very small and there was no bellboy or anyone to help with our suitcases, which was frustrating and not what you expect from a hotel at this rate. The staff were generally rude and unwelcoming. There was no warmth, no basic courtesy, and no sense of hospitality. When we were checking out and still had our luggage in the room, the reception staff walked past us without saying hello, offering help, or even acknowledging us. It felt uncomfortable and dismissive. The room itself was not good. The lighting was poor, making the space feel dark and unpleasant. The bathroom was oddly shaped and impractical, clearly badly designed. Overall, the facilities were in poor condition and felt cheap and poorly maintained. Because of how bad the service and overall experience were, we ended up moving to another hotel. For the price they charge, this place is simply not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here and won’t be returning.

Yelp
3.75. Aptly named, Hotel am Konzerthaus is close to several concert and performance venues in a central district of Vienna. The main entrance is the corner of Lisztstraße (yes Liszt street, as in the composer), and Am Heumarkt, and it's around the block from the Wiener Konzerthaus (Vienna Concert Hall), a 12 min walk to the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera House), a 7 min walk to Musikverein Wien (Vienna Music Society). Walking into the hotel, the first sight that greets you is a lush wall of velvet drapes, they're going for a kinda sleek bohemian vibe with dark floral accents mixed with brass-trimmed furniture and glass lighting. Check-in counters are to your immediate left as you turn, and the hotel lobby lounge with open seating is to the right. Past the lobby lounge is the main hotel restaurant that also serves as breakfast buffet in the morning. Heading upstairs the dark color scheme extends to the hallway and guest room walls. Inside the rooms are pretty spacious for a European hotel, with a focal wall of dark floral wall paper in an asymmetrical diamond arrangement along the wall farthest from the window. The flatscreen TV is wall mounted in the center of a glowing light fixture which seemed like an attempt to be artistic though felt a bit weird when actually watching TV. The thick blackout curtains did their job well and blocked out almost all light for a solid night's sleep. Pillows weren't the most comfortable and the bed was on the firmer side though comfortable enough. They have a pillow menu available but it costs over €15 if I recalll correctly so I decided not to get it, though was surprised bc a few diff hotels I've previously visit don't charge for this. My room had a king bed instead of two doubles and they did a decent job with turn down service on the day I had them come make up the room--on other days if you hang the "green earth friendly" door sign on the outside of your door before 10am each morning then they credit your loyalty program account* with a certain amount of points per day. Overall pretty clean though there was some grimy stuff inside the electric carafe when I was trying to make tea. When I called the concierge they initially said they would bring me another one, then came to my room and said they had none left. Two bottles of spring water (one sparkling, one flat) come complimentary with the room. Aside from aforementioned hot water carafe, other amenities include a safe, mini fridge (nothing inside), nespresso machine with coffee pods, tea bags, iron and ironing board, hairdryer. Bathroom toiletries are from L'Occitane and I really enjoyed their bright lemon and citrus fragranced body wash and shampoo. As other reviews mentioned, the design of the shower (while pretty) leaves much to be desired functionally. Why there is only glass to block half the side of a rainforest shower stall is confusing...there's no way to prevent water from splashing out into a small puddle. Even if you shower very deliberately away from the open side, it's hard to control the splash-age. The staff here was very cordial and seemed genuinely trying to help. My German is limited though it was fairly easy to communicate in English with the front desk staff. While not in the direct center of the historic district, it's about a 10-15 min walk to many attractions, and public transportation via metro, bus and trams is easily accessed 3-7 minutes away. Coming from NYC I found the location conveniently walkable and far enough from the louder touristy areas of town. Side note: during my stay I was able to order Uber here quickly, usually within 5 minutes. *As part of the Accor Hotel group, it's possible to sign up for their loyalty program where you can acrrue points towards benefits if you stay at various properties worldwide.

Yelp
We stayed here one night. After spending five nights at a hotel with a terrible, narrow bathtub/shower combo, I was overjoyed to find Hotel am Konzerthaus to have a spacious shower with a huge rainfall showerhead. The bed was just okay. A little hard for my liking. Great television, but weirdly situated in the middle of a glowing ring light fixture. The best part was the breakfast! Really it was the breakfast buffet of my dreams. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, pancakes, french toast, yogurts, granola, croissants, many kinds of meats and cheeses, olives, smoked salmon, pickled herring... you get the idea. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Nice hotel given we were able to book with a discount we found online. The front desk was extremely kind, spoke English, and was very helpful. Our room was nice. Wasn't anything spectacular, but the turndown service did a good job. Certainly not the most luxurious hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised the level of quality for the given price. Would recommend. Wish breakfast was included with all rates.

Yelp
Hotel am Konzerthaus is decently located for its price. My friend and I stayed here for four nights in December and it was about $115/night with taxes. Pros: 1. 10-minute walk to Karlskirsche or the Belvedere 2. There's a Billa (small supermarket) about 5-minute walk away 3. Front desk is very nice and helpful - we expressed interest in visiting the Christmas markets and they gave us suggestions on which ones we should/shouldn't hit up 4. The window cracks open. This comes in handy since there's no mini fridge - you can use the window ledge as a makeshift fridge Cons: 1. 20-25-minute walk to all other main attractions (all the museums, Stephansdom, Rathaus) 2. There was a mystery stain on the carpet that we discovered on the last night, which looked like blood. 3. Shower is not well-designed. If you don't shower close to the wall, water goes everywhere Overall, it's not a bad option if you don't want to spend too much on a hotel. You'd just have to walk a bit longer to the main attractions.

Yelp
Gayle and I had a very enjoyable 4 night stay here. This was a Euro room, which means a bit small. However, the room was clean and modern, the bed was comfortable, the shower and WiFi were both hot and strong, front desk and bar service was efficient and helpful, the included breakfast was generous and with a expansive selection, and best of all it was close to where ever we decided we wanted to walk.

Yelp
First: the entire staff are so nice and friendly! But I DO NOT recommend staying in a "Standard room"ever!! The VERY SMALL inadequate bathroom is a disaster and the Architect who designed it should be fired. Not our style hotel and very dark depressing colors in the rooms.

Yelp
Look. This is a nice hotel and has nice amenities. That said if you need a cooler environment in order to sleep, please god stay somewhere else. I have logged over 80 flights this year and stayed in countless hotels. Last night was the worst sleep I've EVER had at a hotel in my life. During the fall and winter months their AC wall units turn into heaters, which of course I turned off. And even with the heat off and the window open that room was 100 degrees. Save your money and stay at hotel where you can actually get some sleep.

Yelp
Decent couple of night stay. The room we reserved turn out to be a just fine. No wash cloths provided. Maybe I've been doing it all wrong at other hotels? Anyway the breakfast layout was nice. Service is friendly. Ask the right questions and you will get the right answers. Cab ride from the airport is an easy 37 Euro. On the way out the train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Yelp
This review is based on a 3 night stay. This hotel is big, convenient, and very comfortable. The people in the lobby were very helpful and friendly Complimentary breakfast. The Akademietheater is literally right next door. The Opera house is only a 10 minute walk away. The downtown area is only a 20 minute walk. If you go on a weekend, you can street park for free. But if you go on weekday, you may have to park in their parking lot, which is not free.

Yelp
First off, there was no mention the hotel was under renovation when the reservation was booked and paid for....which leads to the next huge issue. My girlfriend and I were bitten all over by bed bugs! She required medical attention due to her histamine problem and everything we brought to the hotel had to be sprayed, drycleaned or washed. Only 1 elevator worked and they were remodeling even on the weekend. We stayed April 20-24. Staff was friendly but not helpful in other ways. We sent an email to the hotel with no response. Housekeeping is obviously a MAJOR negative here as posted by others. Too bad...its a nice location but I would never stay again.

Yelp
We, me& my husband stayed three nights in this Hotel. The front desk employees are great, very helpful. The breakfast is very good,I would say even excellent, fresh juices, they even take your order for making breakfast the way you like,if you like something else from the buffet.Employees are very friendly, nice, service is great.the hotel is very nice, room is small but comfortable.ButThe bathroom, when we got to the room noticed something small in bathtub& there was a stain too. Next day not as a complain just as reminder to the housekeeping we informed the front desk and they took it very nicely. Next day after we came back to the room, not even the stain was not cleaned in the bathtub, the empty bottles of shampoos was by the tub. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned ,the carpet was not vacuumed . I guess the only weakness is the housekeeping.that is the reason I would not give more than 3 stars to this hotel.

Yelp
The woman at the front was rude and abrupt and made us feel unwelcome/not fancy enough for the place. We had ordered a non-smoking room through Expedia (which mind you is only ~10 Euro cheaper) but they placed us on the second floor in a non-smoking room on the SMOKING floor. Location is great and the inside of the hotel is nice and modern but everything else in regards to service sucked.

Yelp
Excellent 3 night stay here. Beds were very comfortable, rooms clean, bathrooms large which is an extra plus for European hotel, and service was good! Room included breakfast and they had such a large selection of breakfast foods! Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Great location (across the street form the Haus of Industrie) and easy walk to downtown, Albertina, Belvedere, and public transportation. Clean, spacious, and friendly.

Yelp
We stayed here as part of the Monogram program. It was located close enough to the main tourist areas and a block away from a great park. It's not exactly modern, but it's not exactly classic either. It was clean, the folks working there were extremely friendly and English-speaking, and the breakfast was great. Very comfortable place to stay.
