Hotel Am Schloß

Good location near Schewin Castle and a few minutes walk away from the city center. Tram station just outside the hotel too. Quite a big room. Use it mainly as a base to visit the castle 🏰 and garden. Lovely visit and enjoyed a lot.

Herr Janke, is such a kind man we meet him after our orginal hotel had double booked on us for our wedding!!!||||We visited his hotel highly stressed and not sure how we were going to make our wedding happen. We were meet by a very calm and helpful gentleman. Who was able to secure rooms for us and also give us several ideas for our wedding. ||||We viewed several rooms which were spotlessly clean and looked very comfortable. ||||Most if the rooms are overlooking a small type of courtyard and very quite. ||||It is excellent value for money too. Love the fact that he runs a honesty policy for the beers you comsume there are fridges that you can help yourself to beer and then tell staff on check out||||Schewerin is a lovely city well worth a visit. Yhe location of this hotel is excellent right beside the trams and the castle. ||||Jennifer

Helpful staff, characterful hotel, spacious room and en suite, fully-equipped. Ideal location for the old town and the castle. Allowed to park in the hotel courtyard. We were en route to our holiday apartment elsewhere - this was just another stopover but we liked Schwerin so much we intend to return.

This is a nice hotel in the beautiful town of Schwerin. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. It’s in quick walk to the castle, which was an ideal location, and also walkable to many restaurants in the old town area. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.

I came by train and it was a 5 minute walk to the hotel. It is located very central and makes it a great place to stay to reach pretty much everything in the city. The hotel itself was good. The furniture might be a little outdated - there might be potential to invest in modern furniture to modernize the whole hotel. Overall, friendly staff. Clean and cozy room. Breakfast good. Thanks for the hospitality!

We found the hotel very clean and our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate without being over the top. Best of all was the access to the city centre and the Schloss and also public transport at the door. We arrived by train from Berlin and walked the short distance from Schwerin Mitte station. Highly recommend.

The hotel is a mere 3 minutes walk from the castle and the city center not much more. They provide backyard parking for a few cars, first in principle. Rooms are without AC, but it was not too hot when we stayed. Elevators provided. Rooms to the backyard are quiet. No minibar in the room. Breakfast quite nice.

The rooms were nice, large, and modern looking, with a nice, modern bathroom. The location is very close to the city center and Schloss Schwerin (about 5-10 minute walk), but the tram runs right outside some of the rooms, which might be annoying for some (I had personally no problem, as it was only a low rumbling). There isn't any AC at the hotel, which had a very negative impact on this particular trip, as there is a heat wave in Europe at the moment. There isn't any mini-bar or fridge in the room, but they do sell cold beverages in the hallway. The service was very good, although not all of the staff spoke English very well (or at all). My experience at the hotel was good, and would have gotten 4 stars if not for the heat wave and lack of AC and mini-fridge in the room.
