An immediate 5 stars because the customer service was exactly what you look for when taking a long road trip after crossing the Penas Blancas border. It was late and no idea where my husband and son would stay. Thankfully, the hotel used WhatsApp and I could easily communicate my needs and the saved them a room, recommended a restaurant. Ericka, was was patient and very helpful, the rooms were clean, comfortable and beautiful views, parking lot accommodate a suv with a trailer.. Highly recommend 🙏🏼

Very clean hotel with great owner and beautiful view. One of the best hotel view I ever experienced. Close to the stores, restaurant s. It is in the center of the city but when you walk inside you are totally blow away. Highly recommended!!!!!!

This was meant to be just a stop before the border, but ended up being our best stay in Costa Rica! The view from the 3rd floor room is just BREATHTAKING! we were also amazed to have a huge two bedroom apartment, instead of a room . Common area is also very very nice . As well as the owner. In love with this place !

We got there at around 16:30, on the 29th of December, and stayed a couple of nights.||Our first impression was of an old house turned into a hostel, but it was a little more private than a hostel. We got to the room, and it was ok, but when we got to the backyard: Amazing!||The sunset was absolutely breathtaking (see picture). You can see the whole bay from the backyard balcony.||Ericka (the administrator) was extremely polite and entertaining to talk to.||The hotel is in the very center of La Cruz, so everything is "next" to it (walking distance). You can find the super market, bakery and even a pharmacy within 2 blocks away.||Then from there, a 10 min drive takes you to the beach. Nearby beaches: Rajada (our favorite), Jobo (second best), Coyotera, Manzanillo, and Soley. The last one is the closest to the hotel, but is the lesser nice of all. I would recommend you to drive another 10 minutes.||We will for sure go back to La Cruz, and most likely will stay at this hotel again.

We loved Erika! And this was by far the nicest place we stayed during our trip. Awesome balcony view, pool, spacious rooms. We managed to prepare most of our meals in the kitchen--the stove wasn't working but Erika had a large electric skillet that worked well for us!

We have been staying with Erika over the past 5 years on and off. From the 1st visit she was lovely and gracious - always willing to help with any travel details, local spots to visit, La Cruz town info, etc.....She has the most beautiful paintings in that hotel by Artist Lester Bounds, who was her grandmother's husband there in La Cruz years ago. These paintings are a treasure and worth seeing absolutely, and are very high caliber and quality. The hotel and grounds are wonderful, and are super centrally located. Erika's pricing is always reasonable and the pool is divine. The views speak for themselves, and are some of the most beautiful in Guanacaste. You can sit on that back balcony, either on the 1st floor or 2nd, and you can see 100 miles into the ocean and panoramic vistas. Really a wonderful place. I highly recommend it to anyone. She also welcomes families with children, and groups of travelers. We are always thankful for her hospitality and wonderful attention.

Hotel Amalia is a great place to stay during your travels. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is much space for hanging around (hammock, living room, terrace, pool etc.) and the view at the sea is simply incredible. However, during our time staying there the stove and oven could not be used because they were lacking gas, so we had to do with the microwave.

The lady was willing to take me in at 10 p.m. without any reservation. 15000 appears to me as a good price for a private room. The room itself was spacious, bathroom with toilet and shower included. AC and ceiling fan at my disposal. La Cruz is 30 bus minutes from the border Peñas Blancas and the Bus station is a 5 minute walk They charge 450 CRC. All the travel information was provided by the lady working the Hotel. If I happen to stay in La Cruz, I will stay there.
