This is a gem of a find in France and this beautiful little town. First of all it was only 99 euros a gift in and of itself. We stayed on the first floor although the rooms are small the bed was very comfortable there were extra pillows and the air conditioning worked very well. The shower was nice the water was hot, the post at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and making suggestions for meals. They do have a breakfast in the morning for 11 Euros although I did not have it it looks nice. They have a coffee machine that you can make your own cappuccino and espresso which was also very good. You are just steps away from the downtown area and walking distance from everything. They also have private parking which is included in the price. It looks like a lot of cyclists use the hotel as well because I saw bike gear in the parking lot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Communication from Australia answering questions was excellent. On our arrival the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to assist us. Breakfast was delicious with a range of options. A very happy and satisfactory stay.|Highly recommend

Hotel Le Blason is not recommended. Rooms are very small. One can cope with that. Unreasonable owner practices:|1. Dirty conditions - hallways and spiral stairs not vacuumed.|2. Spiral stair handrails are frayed rope (picture)|3. Room smelled like dog crap upon check-in. We opened window to air it out.|4. Poor maintenance. Hallway toilet sink drips and sign above instructs user to tighten knob.|5. Very cheap management practices. No soap provided in dispenser in sink bathroom (we stayed 3 nights). Soap dispenser in shower dispensed foam hand soap…because it’s cheaper. It was not replenished at day 2. Owner provides a small packet of shampoo (picture). Breakfast consisted of cheap quality ingredients. ||Had we not been on a group tour half or more in our group would have immediately left.

Small but friendly hotel. Willing to speak English when it was obvious our French was basic at best. Nice continental breakfast. Won our loyalty forever by contacting us after we left. Said we left our tablet. We had the iPad with us and needed a photo to figure out what was left. It was my e-reader. We were over an hour away and unable to go back for it. They graciously offered to send it to us. Also sent a photo of the mailing label’s confirmation numbers and let me know how much postage was charged to my credit card.

There's a reason this place is a favorite with cyclists. Great location, easy storage. Proprietors spoke English and helped us with routing and even showed up in our room at 11:30 p.m. to help us understand how the sink drained. Be careful though with room cross-beams. We hit our head several times!

Nice place in central location. Rooms are smallish but ok for a few nights. Very clean and you have everything you need. Lots of free parking nearby. Restaurants are within east walking distance as is the castle. We opted not to have breakfast but looked like many guests did.

Beautiful quaint old hotel in a terrific location in the centre of Amboise, rooms are obviously compact but have everything needed and are spotlessly clean. Great selection for breakfast and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. This was particularly important when the bike hire company did not collect our luggage for transfer to Tours. The girl on reception was really helpful and communicated with our hotel in Tours to arrange the transfer. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly return.

The hotel is in walking distance to the city centre, including the Chateau of Amboise. There are many free parking spaces at the street around the hotel. But you can also rent a parking space on the secured parking lot nearby which also has a roof for you car and a high door so it seems very secure. The staff was friendly. It had an air condition. I liked the furniture and the room was big enough for a couple. Unfortunately the WiFi didnˋt work everywhere. In the breakfast room it worked, but in our room (first floor over the breakfast room!) we could not connect to it. The shower was of average size but had one open side so after using the shower the floor of the bathroom was completely wet and I think even the carpet outside the bathroom was a little wet. I donˋt know if the soap in the shower was suitable for hair too or only for skin because there was no explanation/labeling and it looked the same like the soap at the bathroom sink. The breakfast was average. There were some sweet options (cake, croissant, pain au chocolat, marmelade, chocolate creme, cornflakes, yoghurt) but only a few hearty (one kind of ham, scrambled eggs without bacon). The food ran out of stock and was replaced very slowly (ham), in an insufficient ammount (scrambled eggs) or not at all (tap water). It seemed like they didn't have enough staff as only one man cleaned the tables and dishes, filled the buffet and set the tables. All together the hotel was okay for a few nights.
