Hotel Ambos Mundos

I am still living here, because I booked for almost a month since I came at Havana for work, and is not refundable, I did a terrible mistake. The people here are behaving like controlling all the time what you do, they are very invasive and not discrete at all and ask me questions all the time. It is terrible. The rooms are old as well as the infrastructures and the services like the bathroom, the elevator, -which is vintage-, but very misfunctioning, and the breakfast which is not at a level for a four stars historic hotel. Unfortunately I booked in the hotel online and they try to avoid to refund me and let me go for my remaining days here. I strongly advise people to avoid this place, there are a lot better ones here at Havana.

Great place for daiquiris! We had lunch at the rooftop bar with live Cuban band. Food and views were great. And we were able to use our credit card here which was very handy!

Hotel Ambos Mundos is amazing and must see when visiting Havana. From the Roof Garden, on the top of the building offers the best views on the Old Havana.

Avoid the terrace for food like the plague. We were a group of 8 individuals, first to arrive at the restaurant and last to be serve. It took over an hour for the food to come even though the menu is limited to 4 items: rice with chicken, rice with beef, ham sandwich and veggie sandwich. To make things worse, at the end of the meal they tell us we are not able to pay in cash (not even in pesos) and must pay with a credit card using the local (and expensive) government exchange rate. At no point this was communicated to us. Extremely poor service and the staff was very unhelpful and even laughed when we said we weren’t told of this rule in advance. We have been traveling in Cuba for 2 weeks and not once have we been asked to pay by card. Absolutely ridiculous!

Had drinks in the lobby Juan Carlos is fantastic. He makes the very best pina coladas.

We did not stay at this boutique hotel but we had lunch and had a drink at the rooftop restaurant and the 360 degree view of downtown Havana is outstanding! Hemingway stayed here often in 1936/7 and wrote a lot while chilling in room 511. This was my favorite place in Havana. Highly recommend. We will stay here on our next visit for sure.

Pros:|-Amazing location, very central and the hotel itself is beautiful|-Clean rooms with active housekeeping|-Delicious breakfast with pretty view of Havana|-Staff is helpful ||Cons:|-Some parts of the hotel really suffer from noise. Hotel staff can be loud and play music at night. The hotel really needs to work on that |-toiletpaper shortage is understandable but if you run out you really need new ones at that moment. Provide that service.||Would recommend other than that!
