I’m genuinely puzzled as to how this hotel received a 4-star rating, as in my experience, it aligns more closely with a 3-star standard.||||The room we were given was extremely small—so much so that it was not possible for two people to move around simultaneously without one having to sit on the bed. The layout of the bathroom was particularly problematic. To open or close the door, one had to either stand on the toilet or press against the shower stall, which made using the facilities very uncomfortable. Both the bathroom and the shower area were exceptionally cramped; turning around without brushing against the walls or fixtures was nearly impossible. Surprisingly, the public restroom in the lobby was larger than our entire room.||||In-room amenities were also lacking. The television did not offer any English-speaking channels, and there was only a small electric kettle with a few tea bags—no coffee machine. A sign in French mentioned that there was a charge for coffee and tea, but it was unclear whether this charge applied to the tea bags provided in the room, so we opted not to use them.||||Cleanliness and maintenance were below expectations. The walls in both the room and bathroom were visibly dirty, there was mold in the shower, and the doors showed signs of damage.||||However, the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the customer service. I was shocked by the treatment I received from the hotel manager, Mr. Boisselier, and a front desk staff member (an older woman with short light-colored hair, who declined to provide her name). Both were dismissive, accusatory, and, frankly, unprofessional. I was accused of dishonesty and even felt intimidated during our interactions.||While I understand that no hotel is perfect, the combination of subpar facilities and the unacceptable behavior of the management leaves me unable to recommend this property. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both its accommodations and customer service standards.

The price-performance ratio is too expensive; the hotel definitely does not offer 4 stars.||Max 3 stars. The bathroom smelled bad and the bed was slightly slanted to one side. The bathroom and room were too small.||Only the location was good. ||Even though it was TFWA, I find it too expensive for what it offers.

We stayed here for one night during our short trip across the south of the country. The location is excellent – right in the center of everything. The hotel is compact, and our room was very compact, especially the bathroom, but it worked okay for a one-night stay. Breakfast was also okay, well served – the only hot dish was scrambled eggs, but given the level and price of the hotel, we found it reasonable. Everything was clean and comfortable. Parking can be a challenge – you’ll have to figure it out on your own, and the street in front of the hotel is so narrow you can’t even stop to drop off luggage. Still, we would recommend this place for a short stay.

An excellent hotel, wonderful location in the middle of Canne, close to the sea but also to the city centre and to the Palace. Very nice team, always ready to help you. ||Always a pleasure

I would give zero stars if I could. This hotel is completely gaslighting and dishonest. We were fully aware the hotel was fully booked, and you were also fully aware we came as a family holiday. From the beginning, we clearly informed the front desk that my third sister was staying in another hotel but she spent time with us during the day because she has a medical condition and cannot stay alone all day in her room. Instead of showing understanding, you treated us aggressively and kept shouting at us every single day. We never hid the fact that we were three people — we told the manager upon arrival, yet you keep denying it. Regarding breakfast, only one person had breakfast every morning, and the options were extremely poor and disappointing. On the first day only, I took a tray for myself because breakfast was about to close at 10:30 AM, and I didn’t want to go back and forth. Suddenly at check-out you charged me 69€ without any explanation, without notifying me in advance, and you refused to listen when I told you only one person had eaten breakfast every day. Additionally, the staff were constantly rude, unwelcoming, and extremely racist towards us. You charged us a 200€ guarantee deposit without informing us clearly before booking — this should have been mentioned openly in the booking details. In short: no respect, no hospitality, no professionalism. Only arrogance, lies, and discrimination. We deeply regret staying at your hotel, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Worst hotel experience ever. The worst worst worst hotel they kicked me out I’ve never written a negative review before, but this experience left me genuinely shocked and upset. The staff at Hotel America were unbelievably rude, unhelpful, and dismissive from the moment we arrived. Instead of hospitality, we were met with cold attitudes, eye-rolls, and complete lack of professionalism. Any simple request was treated like a burden. At times, their behavior felt almost personal — as if guests were an inconvenience. I tried to stay calm, polite, and patient, but they made it nearly impossible to feel welcome or safe. What was meant to be a relaxing stay turned into a stressful, uncomfortable experience. This is not how guests should be treated at any hotel, let alone one that claims to offer quality service. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. There are many better places where you'll be respected, heard, and treated with the basic decency every guest deserves. Absolutely would never return.

I stayed in this hotel and it really was one of the most horrific experiences of my life; the air-conditioning control Centre caught on fire. It was making a sizzling sound and then it just caught on fire. I was absolutely terrified. I had to book myself another hotel (I eventually received a refund the next day) and pay for a very expensive taxi to take me to the new hotel.

Google
Not sure what makes this hotel 4 star. The hotel room is tiny. As a couple, it was impossible to have both of our luggages open at the same time. Not to forget the slow internet and carpets in the room in 2025. The best thing about this hotel was the location.

Lisbeth is beyond perfect! She makes my stay and hotel wonderful. She provides tips, is super polite, one of the most friendly person I've ever seen in hotels. Lisbeth is a star that makes America heaven!

Yelp
This hotel is fabulous. Short walk to train station. Short walk to the beach. The perfect location. Clean, Serene, lovely staff. Comfortable beds and sheets. Thoughtfully appointed in both the lobby and the rooms. Updated bathrooms with good lighting and shower pressure. We had left behind a few items (nothing valuable) and the staff even emailed us offering to ship the things to us.

Yelp
Location location location. Right behind the Majestic. Swell. But that's the whole story. If whoever does your booking for Cannes puts you here, you know one thing for sure: They were asleep at the wheel. The rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. Messages go astray like mad. But if location is ALL you want, of course it would be difficult to find any place more convenient. Just pretend you're staying at the Majestic -- then slip out the back door and run across the street.

Yelp
Expensive and small. But good service, close to the palais de festival. I had a suite with enough space but the bathroom was small and poky. EUR4000 for 10 days during the festival. Will go back there but simply for the location.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here; this hotel had everything I needed. My room was small but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and updated with a nice tub - it was still basic but felt like a good hotel. I paid almost as much for two other hotels in Cannes, and they were awful. Hotel America's location is PERFECT. Right behind Le Majestic, thirty seconds to the Croisette, one minute's walk to the Palais de Festivals - you can't beat it. One thing to note: the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, though they do offer breakfast. While lacking in some things (size, restaurant/bar, pool), it was comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the staff helpful and nice. The only major thing that was wrong with my room was the lack of outlets; there were NO outlets in the bathroom at all and only one in the room, on the floor by the bed - that was it! I couldn't charge my phone and use any hair tools, or charge anything else, at the same time. I would definitely stay here again, though; it was a great value and wonderful location. It was a comfortable stay.
