Hotel Ametyst Prague

We have just returned from our stay at the Ametyst and we loved it. Great location in that it is just far enough to be quiet but close enough so Old Town is a 25 / 30 minute walk. The staff are lovely and very helpful. We were able to have a late checkout for the small sum of €20.|The room was spotlessly clean and very modern. I believe the rooms have been soundproofed as well as you never hear a thing once you're inside. Plenty of storage and free use of the safe. There are a couple of complimentary bottle of water supplied on arrival and tea / coffee supplied daily. It's a nice quiet hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is ample with a selection of cereals, bread, continental breakfast or something hot consisting of scrambled eggs and sausages. Various juices are available with a coffee machine. There is a mini market right next door if you want to get any supplies, throughout Prague they will accept Euros or Czech Koruna. For transportation we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for an Uber and prices into the Old town worked out around £5-8.|I would highly recommend this hotel for your Prague stay. It's somewhere you can relax and have the option for peace and quiet or the hustle and bustle of this beautiful city.

We chose this hotel because, even though it is about a 45 minute walk from the city center, it is well connected by public transport and we thought it offered good value for money. However, we were not happy with our stay. We traveled as a family and occupied three rooms. For several days, there was no hot water in two of the rooms either early in the morning or late in the evening, and on another day the same happened in the third room. The water was freezing cold or, at best, lukewarm. When you come in from outside with temperatures below zero, lukewarm water is not enough. We chose to stay in a hotel instead of an apartment to avoid this kind of issue, such as problems with hot water or heating. When they have too many guests, the boiler is not sufficient to serve everyone. They were not able to offer us any solution. In addition, during breakfast service, we had barely finished eating and the waitresses were already clearing our plates and cutlery, even though the cafeteria was not full. This created a feeling of being rushed and made the experience unpleasant. If they do not fix the boiler issues, I would not recommend this hotel during the cold season.

Hotel is about 15 to 20 minute walk from Wenceslas Square. Hotel is nice without being top drawer. Staff at reception are pleasant and helpful. Doorman/ concierge is very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast staff are efficient but don't interact with anyone. Breakfast is buffet style and is perfectly adequate. Room staff do as requested. For instance if you want your room tidied then you need to put a little card on the door handle.

Hotel very warm & welcoming. Staff on reception were friendly, The room was nice & comfortable, breakfast was nice (not your standard full english) very good location, away from the hustle & bustle, just a short 10-15 min walk to where you can catch a Tram. My only complaint would be that only one day we had a hot/warm shower, so this definitely needs sorting to cope with the amount of guests staying there. A couple of things to bear in mind: As well as the tourist tax there is also a £70 deposit to be paid incase of any damages to the room and make sure you put door hanger on door handle if you want your room cleaned etc..

What a lovely friendly hotel in a quiet location. The staff were all pleasant and the team on reception were great all very helpful. The room 511 was spacious and comfortable with a bath to relax in. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of food served buffet style. The location was perfect only a short walk to the trams which were so easy to use The number 22 took us direct to the main areas we wanted to visit. The location at night was perfect as there was some bars and restaurants near that the locals seemed to use so were better value

No hot water for shower at 8.30am, when I went for a shower in the evening, my used towel taken but not replaced. Tried to call reception but no answer so had to dab myself down with T-shirt to get dressed again in lift to get towel. Quiet hotel though and felt very secure with access to floors only via key card. Breakfast, good selection, clean hotel and comfortable bed.

We have spent three nights at this lovely hotel which is situated about a 15 minute walk from Wencelas Square, in a quieter part of Prague. We cannot fault the hotel, our rooms were exactly as described and expected. Everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was more than adequate and we found plenty of choices on offer to set us up for a busy day sightseeing. For evening meals we walked back towards the hotel and ate at a nearby restaurant that served very good food and was frequented by the locals. We do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to you and, should we return to Prague, we would definitely stay there again. Ask the hotel to book you a taxi from/to the airport.|(The local restaurant is turn right out of hotel, first left and it's on the left, about 2 minutes walk)

We stayed for 5 nights at Hotel Ametyst in Prague. The hotel is situated in a very nice, quiet neighbourhood with lots of families. It is a 8 minutes walk to Grebovka park. There are some fabulous restaurants within walking distance. A fabulous Mexican restaurant with a lovely street patio called Zluta Pumpa. We also ate at Mazel two nights in a row. They have an incredible hamburger and chicken meal. Wow. The hotel itself is lovely. We had a room on the first floor which was great. It was very clean and had beautiful hard wood floors. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a great shower. They had tons of storage with a large walk in closet and a safe. Hotel Ametyst has a fantastic breakfast every morning with manh hot and cold choices and coffee, lattes, and tea. I would definitely stay there again. The hotel is not in the central area but it was very easy to walk to the subway or use the tram. I really like that it was away from the hustle land bustle of Prague in a great area.

First time in Prague- this hotel was close to public transport to the city center but not too close- I could breathe away from all the other tourists (so crowded). The staff is super nice too and they offer breakfast every morning until 10:30am. Area seems safe- we walked around the corner to a water fountain rotunda area and ate at Blatouch at like 10pm (vegetarian vegan friendly spot that's a good hangout place). The room is quaint and small but good enough for me and the partner. We have the cleaning staff tips everyday we cleaned and they did a good job in maintaining the room and even left cute written thank you notes. Would def come back here- you can also leave your luggage at the counter if your room isn't ready or if you're checking out and want to explore a little more before heading to the airport. We tried saying little things in Czech and they appreciated it- but most staff speak a little bit of English- atleast the hostesses do. Lots of European and Asian tourists- maybe a handful of Americans when we came in June.

We stayed 11 nights in Switzerland, Prague and Berlin and this was arguably our best hotel. Got an amazing rate off priceline. I could've hoped for a better location... Tram and trail stops were at least 10 minute walk away. But that's not really their fault and we could use the exercise so it's all good. From the moment we walked in, we felt the 4 star service. Someone took our bags, check in was a breeze, and we had a lovely room on the 5th floor. We're used to tiny rooms in Europe but we had a good sized room. It WAS a bit odd that the toilet and the shower were in separate small rooms with doors... Because you had to exit the toilet without washing your hands, then head into the other room. Also the shower was horribly designed, instead of a curtain there was a sort of half of a glass divider and the nozzle was located so you ended up flooding the floor when you showered. Other than that, everything was great. Free WiFi that actually worked inside the room. Free breakfast... And what a spread! They had the best breakfast ever. I usually came away from the buffet tables with 2 or 3 plates. (They were a bit smaller than usual plates!) Easy check out and they were even willing to extend it for us, and hold our bags since our flight was on the evening and we weren't done exploring. Definitely highly recommended in Prague and wherever else they have a branch.

good central location for a great price! highly recommend if you don't mind the modest room, but close to public transportation. the hotel is about a 10 min walking distance from the Namesti Miru station which is about 2-3 stations away from all the major attractions. the room was quiet, good beds & wifi connection, great water pressure on the shower, and suffice breakfast (a lot to choose from, but i mainly care about good strong coffee, so it's all relative.) the cleaning was an issue for us as they did a lousy job on the first night, however, we left a tip and a thank-you note (this is called reverse psychology), and it was great after that. tip:check out-- -the winery inside the neighborhood park (5-6 min walking distance) -mexican restaurant called Las Adelitos (authentic and great service!) -IF Cafe (cute decor and great coffees/pastries) p.s. the staff was mostly friendly, however, this one staff during breakfast, Zusana (sp?) was amazing and she really made our stay pleasant!

Extremely underwhelmed by this hotel. For the price of a solid 3 star hotel, you are getting barely a motel standard. There is even no basic toiletries like shower gel or a shampoo - but just a hand wash in a reusable pump. Photos on the website are professionally done and probably photohopped so it will not be what you're getting. I'm afraid this will be the only bad experience in Prague.

Wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel.. Breakfast wasn't great, a/c hardly worked and was not very close to the sites. They charge you very every little thing and didn't even have an ice machine and no key for the kitchen to get some..
