Yes at the end of a long day’s hiking that final climb up to the hotel is a bit of a stretch but that view is stunning across the valley |The rooms are thoughtfully fitted out with some imagination and style at work.|Good breakfast with local fruit and homemade bread.No cereals on offer for hungry hikers, you can imagine their home made granola would be spectacular! The picnic lunches are brilliant!.

We stayed in Anaterve for one night as part of a hiking trip. The owners were really welcoming and nothing was a problem. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the town has excellent restaurants and shops. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Spent 6 nights here. Amazing location perched at the top of a hill that overlooks the small town below. Hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful and easy-going. Breakfast was great - lots to choose from on our table…we focussed on the fruit and fresh bread but there was also lots of cheese too! Herman fried/soft boiled an egg for us every day. Rooms were really spacious with great views. Bed sooo comfy. We parked at bottom of hill in public car park by Suma supermarket and walked up each day after amazing walks. Was all so relaxing and suggest you try it yourself and enjoy the vistas

This is a hotel that specialises in homely personal customer service from the moment we arrived to when we departed. Herman was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble, even surprising me with a bottle of Cava as we arrived on my birthday as part of a self-guided trekking trip on La Gomera. The hotel is very quiet, the rooms are lovely and breakfast has that authentic personal touch - delicious bread (with all the usual accompaniments), freshly brewed coffee and eggs to order. All served in a renovated historic building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely go back. Note that the views are fantastic from the hotel because it’s up a hill so maybe not for the mobility challenged.

On a walking holiday with 2 friends, 2 of us stayed in the garden room which is delightful with a small windy path down a few rustic steps through part of the gorgeous garden. This room has its own veranda with an amazing view up the valley to the mountains with breathtaking scenery. It also has a small kitchen area. The breakfast room is in fact where the old wine press has been preserved and adds interesting features to the room which also has a real woodburning stove… a nice touch first thing in the morning. The owners are both very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help you.. the packed lunch on departure day was very special. Thank you so much for our 4 night stay , I would happily stay here for the full week next time.

What an amazing place! Herman and Amala where the best hosts you could wish for. Fabulous breakfast, amazing gardens and views across the valley and mountains. The beautifully restored building is testament to Herman’s artistry and restoration skills. The rooms are unique and spacious with everything you would need. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay look no further. We were here for 4 days and can’t wait to come back again!

We stayed at Hotel Añaterve for two nights on a walking holiday. We didn't receive a warm welcome on arrival, maybe because we turned up early in the day. The room had a lovely view but was basic and didn’t have much in the way of storage. A piece of fruit and a chocolate were provided in the room but there was no drinking or bottled water and no provision to make tea or coffee. A notice in the room said that filtered water was available in the kitchen but this was obviously only with permission from the owners (we made the mistake of helping ourselves). Breakfast was good, as was the mushroom omelette provided for a picnic lunch.

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay with Amala and Herman who were friendly hosts. Their work on the hotel is a real labour of love. Room 1 was accessed through the garden and wonderfully private. Comfy bed, great shower, shady outside seating.

Amazing views! Cozy and charming inn high in a mountain top town. The yummy vegetarian food and lovely couple who run the inn are really fantastic! Highly recommended as a special treat. Pro tip: Ask to arrange for a tour by super friendly local guide Enekoiz Rodriguez. We went on a full day tour of the local national park area for a great excursion day. Really enjoyed it. But he can do other trips as well.
