Hotel & Restaurant Brauhaus Wittenberg

5 stars isn't enough. This place brews several of its own beers WHILE providing really excellent food

For the public restaurant: Brauhaus-Style, easy atmosphere, nice staff, suited for large groups We went there as a large group and the staff managed to have the nearly 40 meals on the table close to at the same time. I had a vegetarian salad which cost as much as meat and fish, which is why I deduct one star - I couldn't spot any vegan options. Nevertheless, for those who like brewery style atmosphere this is a recommendable place to go. I guess, in summertime the beer garden outside is awesome.

We went for a traditional german lunch and it delivered magnificently.

Excellent kind and helpful staff who were warm and welcoming. Food in the restaurant is excellent and the in house beer too. Quiet at night and excellent entertainment evenings too. We attended a Märchen Dinner (fairytale dinner) one night that was the most fun in 6 Courses I've ever had over dinner.

Stayed here for one night on our anniversary trip and it was decent but KNOW SOME GERMAN BEFORE YOU COME we had some language barrier issues. || We had been misdirected up 3 flights of stairs and down 2 to get to the reception. Once finally at reception, the front desk agent knew some English but not a lot.|| The room was tiny, basic, and had barely any heat. Additionally, we said anniversary trip and were given two separate twin beds.... that were not very comfortable and not very romantic. ||However, once your leave your room the courtyard and restaurant are beautifully decorated. You are located in the middle of town which is great for sightseeing. The restaurant is delicious and the beer is wonderful!! ||I would stay here again but I would make sure there isn't a miscommunication on sleeping arrangements. ||IF you do not do stairs well or cobblestones do not come!! No elevator and the main walkways are traditional cobblestones so wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers will have difficulty!

We were visiting Germany and had our Thanksgiving day dinner there. The waiter was very kind and friendly. The schnitzel was a large portion and tasted very good, and so did the beer. Atmosphere is great. Highly recommend.

Very nice rustic German restaurant with good traditional dishes. The prices are fair and the food good. Portions are large. The staff is very friendly and helpful. No free Wifi (only paid service) which is a schlep. Nicely hidden off the main street which makes it feel like a local family establishment. Centrally located close to many attractions. Very interesting beers that I have not encountered elsewhere.

Stayed four nights October, Hannes who worked in bar was by far the best member of staff so a big thank you to him for his fantastic service and advise he made our trip so much easier, as for hotel, bathrooms could do with a refurb and beds no so comfortable, food was excellent.

Came despite the reviews being from such a long time ago. It was wonderful! We both had the Schweineschnitzel and it was delicious! Definitely a great place to stop!

By far the best restaurant we experienced in Wittenberg. Home crafted beer was excellent. We had gulash with potato noodles and my wife had trout. All was excellent. Highly recommend.

We stayed at their hotel and ate at the restaurant several times while we were there. I would say it was good and some of the items you might need to be an adventurous eater to enjoy. I had the schnitzel the first day with potato salad and crout. It was fabulous. We had their local beer as well and both enjoyed that. The next time I tried the meat plate which I could have done without. The presentation was beautiful on a wooden serving platter, but I'm not a fan of minced meat and there were several of that style on the platter. The desserts are large enough to share and so we came back a third time for beer and a dessert. I would go back, but I just wouldn't get the meat platter.

Went in here with not very high expectations, thought it would be very touristy. This was honestly one of the best meals I had while doing Luther visits in Germany! It was only my brother and I, but groups around us were having a great time as well. A must stop if you are touring Wittenberg.

Ate here on our first trip to Wittenberg. Very cool setting in the middle of an old courtyard just in the center of the town. My wife and I both loved our meals, she had a Gulasch that was pretty awesome and I had a pork dish that I cannot remember the name of right now. I ordered the Hefeweizen, and it was okay, nothing spectacular. But as another reviewer said there aren't a lot of places that looked really appetizing in Wittenberg, but this is one that I would for sure recommend.
