Hôtel*** & Restaurant de la Paix

A friend and I on a drive-about vacation recently got switched to this hotel after our original booking got cancelled. It turned out great as this hotel is a true value for the money. The price was very competitive. The hotel was small (10-15 rooms) but well appointed and clean. The rooms have air conditioning, which is more of an issue these days as temperatures rise. The proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful. The on premises restaurant was exceptional! I had the best prepared steak I've ever gotten in Europe. It's very near Albert and in the area of the Battle of the Somme in WW I.

Very nice place for a meal or just a quick drink,staff very friendly,and very nicely layed out.

Great location for me..just off the main Motorway..and good parking..Didn't eat in the Restaurant but was very busy and the food looked good..Breakfast was good.Room very nice and Clean..and Air conditioning was very effective. I have saved as a favourite.

I honestly can't remember when we stayed here, many years ago, but two things I remember very, very well. First, the proprietors kindly told of us of the small Australian cemetery that was just a few hundred meters distant (on the Rue du Chemin Blanc). Visiting that was one of the most moving experiences I have ever had. And second, we ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and I told Madame that it was the best meals I had ever had. She said "you mean in France?". And I said "no, one of the best meals I have ever had, anywhere." Just superb. There were only a few people eating and the whole kitchen appeared fully staffed. What commitment !

Delicious !!!! I had the Steak Tartare, it was great. Besides nice wines. Bordeaux Haut Médoc and a Cotês du Rhône. Me as Spain lover (just arrived with my motorhome / almost staying next door from Irun Spain). Also the waitress very friendly & helpful with choosing. Do I need to change my bit ‘negative view’ on France ? 😀 and ambiance also very good. Music at good level. And look at the desert picture

Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant is great. Nice, up to date rooms with a large bathroom. I really liked the bed, which is not always the case when I stay in a hotel. Located close to the A1, which was great for me.

Midweek lunch stop and went here. Restaurant is well laid out and cosy and received a warm welcome. It took longer than expected to be asked if I wanted a drink and to take my order. Once that done the food arrived fairly quickly afterwards. Food was good quality and the cafe gourmand was nice, I would’ve preferred my crème brûlée to be warm on top (recently brûlée) but it came cold. The chef brought the plate out which was a nice touch. Maybe as a plus he could’ve been a little more elaborate with the description of the dish; rather than saying filet steak, he could’ve said filet steak with black peppercorn sauce, local purple mashed potatoes with endives on a light puff pastry..... or whatever it was! I noticed it was the same on other tables.

Really good, staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean, didn't get to try the food other than breakfast which was lovely. Will definitely be back.
