Great hotel for a gastronomic break as the food and wines are especially good. We had a warm & comfortable spacious room on the second floor (207) with a view over the vines to the rear of the hotel; the room had a minifridge (stocked) and a sitting area but the WiFi bandwidth was poor. We will be back again next time we visit Ahrweiler.

I stayed two nights here during a work trip to the area in April. Everything was fantastic. It made a work trip feel like a mini vacation. Taking in the view of the valley from the balcony in my room was a wonderful way to start the day. The breakfast was delicious and the lobby/lounge area was very comfortable and great place to unwind with a glass of wine in the evening. I will stay here again on my next trip to the area.

Great historic hotel with an impressive view into the Ahrtal. The wine menu is also impressive and contains many rare and old vintages. Have a Look, once you are there! Rooms are rather traditionelle, but all very clean.

Plenty of parking if arriving by car. Near the city but out of the city where it’s very quiet. Right next to the hiking and biking trail. Restaurant is amazing! Lovely breakfast. Heads up to Americans, no air conditioning.

The hotel/restaurant has an excellent position in the vineyards above the town, and is in a good position from which to take vineyard walks, or short drives to the wineries along the valley. It has well-equipped and good sized rooms with excellent views over the town and vineyards. There is ample car parking; although there is quite a steep slope up to the hotel entrance, there is a lift from reception to the rooms. Friendly reception, most of the staff have good English. Excellent dinner in the restaurant, with a very long wine list of Ahr wines, some prices that we could afford. The breakfast was also excellent. The hotel and restaurant are somewhat expensive, but I think worth it. We have now stayed there several times over the years when driving across Germany.

Most other hotels in town were booked because of the wine festifal so we we treated our selves on a luxory stay. After a long walk we had a perfect time a the hot and spacious sauna with panoramic city view and a steam room, ||We had room 110 being on the city side, 18m2 + bathroom 4 m2 + balcon 2,5 m2, Good quality furniture and bed. ||The hotel is slightly out of town on the hillside, so walking back or forth to the centre would requires about half an hour. The advantage is a great view from the valley side rooms.||Our dinner was excellent with a very nice piece of lamb. All dishes from all guests arrived from the kitchen under a cloche. The wine however, was 4 -5 times the shop price, being rather expensive .in comparison with most other hotels and restaurants.||The negative point was that this hotel allowed dogs in the dining and breakfast restaurant.

The hotel is located on a hill above a small town but is on a vineyard. The rooms are nice and efficient. The restaurant is magnificent and we had an exceptional meal. My husband had the 3-course meal which started with an amuse-bouche of asparagus panacota. The panacota was perfectly executed. I was quite impressed and was looking forward to the next couse. 2nd course was a fish over asparagus also delicious then came the palate cleanser a cucumber sorbet ... wow I could eat that everyday! The main meal was a very tender beef cheek and beef sous vide, less tender but tasty. As my main meal, I had the fish over risotto with asparagus which was a delight. We finished with a nice dessert. Overall a superb meal, best meal we ever had travelling in Germany. Congratulations to the talented Chef and thank you!

This hotel is perched on the side of a hill with vines all around. It has a magnificent view of the valley below, with spectacular sunrises behind the hills in the distance.||The hotel is on the red wine route, and there are several well-known vineyards in the area each selling to the locals and the visitors. However, the wine production is limited and these wines are not readily available, certainly not in the U.K.||Without a car or taxi, the hotel is found on a steep hill but worth the view once seated on the hotel terrace.||We chose to eat at the hotel restaurant for the three nights we stayed and enjoyed the excellent choice of food and, of course, the wines, available from many of the surrounding vineyards.||This is a location not to be missed.
