Hotel & Restaurant Schmachtendorf

I cannot fault this hotel. Everything was superb.|We arrived from the overnight ferry to Hook of Holland. This place was perfectly positioned a couple of hours from the port for an overnight stay before exploring Germany. The car park was spotless. The reception staff were professional and very welcoming. All the hotel was very clean and airy. A lovely atmosphere. |The room was very well appointed and, again, spotless. There was a lot of attention to detail: providing flannels, shower basket to hold our toiletries, movement sensor lights under the bedside cabinets, in the hallway, and in the bathroom perfectly dim so just enough light to get to the bathroom at night without having to fumble for switches, to avoid waking up the other occupant. Bedside light switches on the front of the bedside cabinet so you don’t have to be a contortionist to operate them.|The breakfast was exceptional. Huge variety of hams, cheeses, breads, yogurts, and freshly cooked eggs which were perfectly cooked and a beautiful orange/yellow colour showing good quality. To top it off there was a tea station with numerous choices of leaf tea to self serve into teapots. They even supply specialist sugar to go with it! Eg unrefined sugar crystals. |We loved it so much, we decided to stay another night and explore the delightful town. Not much there but lovely boulevards to walk down. |We will come back here on our next trip to Europe. |

I'm attending a business meeting at this hotel once a month. The meeting room looks very nice and the chairs are comfortable. Almost to every meeting they provide a folder with paper and a pen. The food is tasty and lately we always got a little kitchen greeting up front and they always give you bread and cream as an appetizer. The service is very friendly. The restrooms are clean and even provide handlotion.

I called the night before to make sure we could eat late if we got caught in traffic. Last orders are at 22:00 but fortunately we made good time and sat down for dinner at 21:00. The staff were extremely professional and friendly. We ate traditional German dishes and I had the option of having the spaghetti starter “spiced up” which was perfect. Really relaxed, cosy atmosphere. ||The rooms were also just what we needed, clean, quiet and extremely good value for money. ||Highly recommended.

Hotel is newly refurbished, rooms are clean simple, though fully equipped. No smart TV in my room. The hotel´s strength is in the amicability of its personnel, and in the decor and perceived quality of the restaurant. I fully reccomend you treat yourself to the breakfast, though expesive, it offers a great deal of variety and quality. The tea sets are to die for. In summary, this is not a cheap hotel, but the service and product in return is fair to the price.

We spent one night here to attend an event nearby. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious enough. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially the people staffing the breakfast room. Breakfast was fresh, varied and good quality.

Outstanding service from a friendly staff (thanks very much!), outstanding food and drinks in a good setting, good rooms, really good breakfast buffet- an overall great stay and good value. This establishment takes pride in their quality and service and it shows.

This is a very grand hotel with lovely modern / traditional decor reminded me of weddings as white flowers n pretty hearts very stylish. Best breakfast I have had in Germany and at €95 for two a great price.

Nice rooms, a lot of space. A good breakfast with a helpful staff. Only downside is that the fan in the bathroom kept spinning, so I had to call the staff to fix it. But they were very helpful, so it was fixed right away.
