An amazing dining experience at Bären Restaurant in Andermatt! We chose the surprise menu and every single dish was incredibly tasty , beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really tell how much care goes into the food. The service was outstanding: Johan and Andrea were warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. A special highlight was Dani, the chef, who personally came to our table to check if everything was good. Such a passionate chef, it truly shows in the food. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Andermatt and looking for a memorable culinary experience!

We had dinner at Zum Baeren restaurant. We showed up that evening without a reservation, not knowing what to expect. They welcomed us and kindly seated us promptly. The food was superb, to say the least. The service was also impeccable. Look out for this restaurant. We feel it deserves a Michelin star and hopefully it will be getting one soon!

Have a wonderful time here for snowboarding in Andermatt. 10 mins walk to station and 5 mins walk to Gondola. The room is classical and clean. Nice and friendly staff — breakfast (coffee, eggs, ham, milk, yogurt, bread, fruits and etc.) is simple but tasty. Also the fine dining dinner at the first floor is a must try! Although they have the course menu, we have tried the a la carte menu, which is really delicious! Really enjoy the meal right after a whole day of snowboarding. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Andermatt.

Take 2-3h time and you get delicious food and lot of new flavours (my recommondation ravioli with amarettini). The meals are not cheap but you get back a lot of new expressions and flavours. The biggest greeting of the kitchen we ever get.

We stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant. Both were amazing. Starting with the restaurant it was the best meal we had in Switzerland including multiple Michelin starred restaurants. Every dish was delicious and their emphasis on local ingredients means it tastes fresh and like something you won’t get elsewhere. It was so good we canceled our plans elsewhere and ate at the restaurant twice. As for the hotel, we had an amazing time the place was so cute and centrally located. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Both are a 1000/10 would recommend.

Very nice rooms and breakfast. Easy access from both slopes. Nice and tidy place where everything just works. Helena, who obviously was the queen of the place. Made our visit and hours after skiing days fabulous. The atmosphere and responsiveness of the staff together with the food was exceptional. Thanks Helena, you made our visit exceptional, I truly hope I get back here as soon as possible

Yelp
We spent a week travelling across Switzerland by train and spent one night in this hotel during September. We walked from the railway station which took about 10 minutes, following a map downloaded from Multimap. As we approached the hotel we realised it was a traditional looking Swiss building, and my partner immediately said, We're staying in a cuckoo clock! The front door opens in the main bar/restaurant area. The area to the left is a bar, and several locals were enjoying evening drinks. To the right is a restaurant area, also used for breakfasts in the morning. After checking in, at the bar, we were taken up two flights of stairs to our bedroom, one of the girls carried my bag for me. Our bathroom was next door to our room, and though for our exculsive use wasn't ensuite. The room was large, clean and airy. As in all the places we stayed in Switzerland, there were two single beds rather than a double. There was lots of hanging space. The window looked out towards the mountains behind the hotel. Our bathroom inlcuded both a bath (the only one we found during our six nights) and a shower. The bathroom felt spacious and clean, towels and shower gel were provided, though no soap. We ate dinner in the restaurant, both staff members present were very friendly. There seemed to be locals coming into eat as well as other hotel residents, probably twenty people eating altogether. The menu included fondues, pasta dishes, two vegetarians dishes, pork and beef dishes as well as starters and ice cream desserts. Breakfast was a buffet, with tea, coffee or hot chocolate brought to the table. The buffet included three cereals - cornflakes, museli and something that could have been Cinnamon Grahams. There was also bread, a selection of cheese and cold meats, and orange juice. We really enjoyed our stay here. The total price for a double room, breakfast and our evening meals was CHF 177.40.
