It's a beautiful hotel with lovely pool area and great spa. Staff at the reception was nice and helpful. I messed up their white robe, but they didn't mind and didn't charge anything for it. There was noise at night and early morning, so they kindly offered me an option to move to another hotel and get refunded for the remaining 2 nights. But moving was a bit too much of a hassle given that I only had couple of nights left and most other hotels were booked out anyway.||||Staff at breakfast were nice on the first day and totally negligent later. On the first day I ordered a boiled egg from their menu and the waitress was extremely courteous. She went out of her way to make sure I receive a perfectly boiled egg. But then on the second day the egg they brought was completely overboiled, and on 3rd day it was underboiled and uneatable. See the picture. I simply stopped ordering from their menu after that. I thought maybe I was treated worse as a single female traveler, but a couple sitting next to me left without receiving their order at all.||||Spa at Es Mares is amazing, but it could be taken care of a bit better. First time I used it I accidentally forgot a water can next to the pool. The next day when I returned the empty can was still there. When I asked receptionist about it he admitted that cleaning was done every other day, and proper cleaning is done twice a week. ||||You need good earplugs if you plan to stay at this hotel. Standard rooms are facing a street, so you'll hear noise until 2AM in the morning. It is a shame that such a nice hotel did not invest anything into soundproofing the rooms. Walls are thin, and rooms are equipped with metal chairs which make terrible noise when they are moved. At night I was woken up by loud sounds, and from 7AM there was noise again, this time from staff preparing for their day and dragging metal chairs all over the place. And at times there was a strange high-pitched buzzing sound. My complaint about the noise was not taken seriously at first, so I started taking videos. I was worried that my camera won't capture it, but it captured it perfectly, even the buzzing noise. Too bad Tripadvisor does not allow video uploads. ||||The noise was especially disappointing, because I asked Es Mares staff about it before booking their room that costs 430 EUR a night. They reassured me that it is very quiet, but it turned out that it is quiet... for Formentera standards. Apparently in other places like Pujols and countryside villas it's even worse. Anyway I appreciate the refund they offered after I complained about it. ||||This was 4th hotel in a row where I experienced the same type of disturbances: someone dragging furniture and hitting walls. I am starting to suspect that it is a wider problem. Based on other reviews, I can tell there are more people experiencing this. Companies like Tripadvisor and Booking should do something about it. They should take customer feedback seriously, especially backed by proof, and impose penalties on those companies.
