Ginkgo (Quimper, Brittany) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the historic heart of Quimper, along the banks of the Odet river, an old priory has been renovated and transformed into a cool and contemporary boutique hotel. Proprietors Catherine and Hervé Laurent have created a stylish escape, whose 11 rooms and 9 suites adapt historic architecture to modern purposes; the look is understated and tasteful in its sophistication. The spa is a dramatically lit space that retains the historic charm of the priory’s rough-hewn stone walls; a sunny dining room and outdoor terrace are the venues for breakfast, and after that you’re directed to the capable restaurateurs of Quimper’s Locmaria district." - Tablet Hotels

We had a lovely family vacation based in Quimper, and we truly enjoyed staying at Hotel Ginkgo. The staff were especially helpful, providing recommendations for day trips and making all sorts of arrangements on our behalf. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. We loved being within walking distance of the town center but still away from all the hustle and bustle. A great experience.

This is a very clean, newish hotel, with very friendly staff. We had no issues with our stay. Our suite was huge with a large dining table, living area, big bedroom and bathroom. Continental breakfast is available. I would describe the decor as a little on the cold side. I think this would be the perfect hotel for a business traveler. Maybe not a cozy place for a romantic getaway. Gardens nearby are beautiful and restaurant next door was excellent.

The hotel is in a lovely old building. The rooms are modern, but definitely not four stars. I had a junior suite which was utilitarian. The sloping roof made it impossible to see the river or even stand up in most of the room. The chairs were beanbag chairs. Staff were helpful enough. The breakfast which had been posted for €10 was billed to me at € 20. It’s away from the main part of town so not much to do within walking distance.

This hotel in an historical spot is quiet, has excellent staff and a super breakfast. Our standard room on two floors was extremely comfortable. The lady who welcomed us was so helpful and friendly. Hotel is a 10 minute walk into the centre along the river. Very pleasant our stay.

This privately owned hotel is in a quiet and unique part of Quimper, 10 minutes maximum walking distance along the river Odet from the town centre. It is a beautifully converted listed building with spacious rooms in the main building and compact split-level accommodation in a row of 6 small adjacent 'houses'. The owners have tastefully decorated everywhere combining modern art works with very comfortable furnishings. We spent 5 nights in a suite, the bed was fabulous and housekeeping was amazing! Warm thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. The owners were very present and everyone was friendly and helpful.|There is no bar or restaurant (2 bars and 2 restaurants very close!) but a selection of drinks can be served in the lounge. One evening we ordered a platter of cheese and charcuterie to eat in our room - wow!|Breakfast is tasty and very well presented, "full English" is not offered but not needed when freshly scrambled eggs can be enjoyed if the fruits, pastries, breads etc. are not enough! There is a private car park and a spacious outdoor area which must be delightful in warm weather.

It is the first so called 4 star hotel with poor quality bed sheets, monster pillows, cheap cardboard cups, no fridge in the room. |The only food you can have is some Lasagne from the micro wave.|Give it 3 stars at the maximum , even as an hotel guest you have to pay 35 Euro to enter the spa

We stayed two nights recently and enjoyed the hotel very much. We had room 14 which is in the main building and had a view overlooking the river and the public garden. The bed was a king, very comfortable and it had a nice walk-in shower. The hotel is set in an old abbey but is very modern. They have a pleasant courtyard patio with tables in a garden and there was also a large deck on our floor for sitting outside. There’s good off street parking and the hotel is close to restaurants and shops but on the opposite of the river from most of the town so access is easy. They have a delicious breakfast buffet with lots of selection. |It’s close to the Henriot factory and the pottery museum. |We had wonderful assistance from staff, Oliver, Manon, and Louna and we appreciated their suggestions and kindness. |We would recommend this hotel highly.
