Paid for a suite, but given the cost of the room @ €250 a night, apart from the modern furniture, it lacked basic facilities like a fridge or even milk for the tea or coffee.
The shower gel in the bathroom was empty, the shower itself had no splash protection so when showering the water just goes everywhere making the floor slippery and wet.
As for the cleanliness, there was a dead fly on the cord of the ceiling light. A live fly buzzing around in the suite all night. There was also a huge spider crawling around in the lounge area too. (we have pictures)
For a 4* hotel, this was very disappointing. The standard and cleanliness does not reflect the price charged for the room. We made a complaint about this at reception and the excuse he gave us was that because it is summer, that's the reason we have these insects in the room!
Not really a valid excuse, house keeping should take care of these things. We asked to speak to the management. However, we were told that they were on holiday and would not be back for 2 weeks. But then, surely, someone else would be left in charge?
Anyway, we were not happy so was told by receptionist that he would speak to management and get back to us in a few days. After hearing nothing after a week, we sent an email to chase. They responded and asked for our pictures. We sent them over as requested. Then total silence. We sent a follow up email too. That was over 3 weeks ago now! Still no response.
Quite frankly, this is a perfect display of poor customer service! Obviously there is a lack of concern with addressing complaints from hotel guests. The hotel has been given the opportunity and they also had plenty of time to do it.
