Hotel Jules Cesar (Arles, French Riviera / Provence) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Hôtel Jules César is styled, perhaps incongruously, after a Roman palace — you’d never guess at its provenance as a seventeenth-century Carmelite convent. Interesting enough from a historical perspective, but more so for the fact that today it offers something of a blend of both worlds: a little of the pomp and opulence of a royal residence, and a measure of monastic seclusion, even though it’s surrounded by one of Arles’s livelier neighborhoods." - Tablet Hotels

My wife and I were on holiday and traveling with a friend who was solo. Our friend was given an upgraded room and we were shown to a handicap accessible room without being asked if this was. I am 188cm tall. My wife is tall for a woman. Everything in the room was too low. The makeup mirror was at navel level for my wife (as an example). The shower had no door so water went everywhere. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not recommend the hotel. Also, the 3 of us had dinner in the hotel. We were the only patrons at dinner. The server was kind but spent long periods of time talking to people outside the restaurant so service felt very slow and inattentive.

This was a nice place to stay! The rooms was very comfortable! We had stellar service as soon as we got out of the car. They parked the car (for a fee) and gave us flavored water and showed us our room. The hotel is close to all the things in the old town anyone would be interested in seeing. We did that for a couple of hours and walked back to the hotel for some amazing crafted cocktails! We had crepes with the drinks and they were simply delish! I highly recommend staying at this fine establishment!

||The "Julius Caesar" hotel may look impressive from the outside, and the lobby and bar are indeed stylishly designed, offering a unique and artistic atmosphere. However, there is absolutely no connection between these public spaces and the disappointing condition of the rooms. The room décor ranges from something resembling a bordello to a stark, cold hospital-like feel. The overall atmosphere is gloomy, the minimalist design is uncomfortable, and no sense of luxury or indulgence||Hot water was limited, the bathrooms were extremely basic, and the furnishings were outdated and sparse. The service was equally disappointing – the front desk staff, particularly David, showed no willingness to assist or make our stay pleasant. We received no information about the area, and not even a welcoming smile.||The hotel is not located in the city center out of the old town, but rather in a less attractive area. There are far better and more pleasant hotels in the vicinity.|We wanted to leave, but found out that the booking policy is very strict – no cancellations or refunds allowed. Only upon checkout did we learn that breakfast is not included and costs an additional €25 per person. There was also an extra charge for having our luggage brought to and from the room.||In summary – a very disappointing experience. Not recommended and definitely not worth the price.|

I usually stay in the old city of Arles, but this time, decided to stay outside the perimeter of the city. So easy to have valet park and deliver my car. Walk across the street to the old city and eat, shop and sight see. The rooms are well maintained. The staff attentive and the room staff care about you having "turn down" service. I will return.

Maybe it deserves 5 stars but we were annoyed when we realised the hotel was part of the Accor group and we were not allowed to use my spouse’s membership to accrue points.|That said, we enjoyed the hotel very much and felt the service was remarkable. Saturday is market day in Arles, just out side the hotel. Vehicular traffic is not possible so the staff escorted us around the back and checked on us while we were waiting. Remarkable.|The restaurant food and service, room, wifi and bed were excellent and the hotel position next door to the tourist office was handy. The town itself is delightful.

Hotel is very nice, interesting design changing between rooms, very good restaurant, and very friendly staff. Swimming pool is very nice, especially when not too busy ! Rooms are very comfortable, however, few details could be updated to keep to the new standards. Hotel is very close to the old city center, few steps to reach by foot.

A nice hotel in a very central area to all sites . The decor is eclectic not everyone taste. The staff were pleasant a very special mention to Mellisa at the bar who went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Overall I recommend this hotel in Arles and would stay here again.

This terrible hotel is to be avoided at all cost: a 5-star hotel with an empty minibar, no desk and a shower with hardly any pressure. Scandalously overpriced, if you want a poached egg in the breakfast room you have to pay extra! Hôtel épouvantable à éviter à tout prix.
