Hotel & Spa Oceania L'univers Tours

I stayed at this hotel recently. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, which made for a comfortable stay. However, the cleanliness of the hotel’s common areas left something to be desired—the hallways and elevator were not well maintained. The location is excellent, with a convenient and affordable parking lot nearby. Breakfast was enjoyable, though it would have been better with a selection of fresh vegetables.

Clean, very spacious, and comfortable hotel. VERY large and quiet rooms though on a busy traffic circle. The only change I would recommend is to ditch those down comforters as they are very hot during spring and summer weather conditions.

this hotel is in a fab location, plenty of bars & restaurants only a few hundred yards away.||. we appreciated the safe parking ( albeit at extra cost )& staff were kind enough to allow us to spend time in the city , leaving our car in garage, after checkout.||staff we met were smiley & friendly .||public rooms are very well kept . we didn’t book for breakfast or dinner but breakfast room looked busy & a wedding reception was being held as we were leaving. ||our room was large, clean, comfy beds , good shower but decor is tired as are the corridors & carpets on corridors desperately need replaced….a trip hazard .||Tours is a lovely city & Hotel L’Univers is a great place to stay, just needs a little bit of TLC. ||

This hotel is in an excellent location. Just a few minutes walk from the train station as well as from all the restaurants and shopping that you could want. Our rooms was very nice, clean, and well furnished.

First of all this is a nice hotel 🏨. Second the hotel 🏨 has great lobby . Third there is also a nice 😊 swimming pool 🏊. Fourth the hotel 🏨 is in a very good location. Fifth it’s has a good restaurant. Sixth the rooms are nice 😊 . Lastly, the people who work here are very nice .

Stayed here recently with my partner on the way to Portugal. Location is great - very near the station and across the road from the busy Christmas market. Hotel is rather dated and rooms are sparse and not warm or welcoming. Staff were OK. The bar is extortionately expensive and (the night we went) staffed by a very rude and dismissive bartender. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special. On a trip of staying in many hotels, this was the least satisfactory.

Going from good to great. A few items need attention. Wifi is not consistent through the hotel and is unusable in some rooms. More attention is needed to address some small black mold on the bottom of showers. Rooms are nice. Food is good.

The location of the hotel was central to the train station and the places that we wanted to visit. It was very nice to have the spaciousness of the family suite. We enjoyed the steam room and the hot tub as well.

This is a nice, but old-styled hotel that was renovated recently. Just a note that their showers and toilets are in 2 separate rooms. But, this works out just fine for couples or families. Also, there's a pool with a jacuzzi. And, they have a facial shop, too. The location of this hotel is great because it's near the train station. There are many eateries and shops nearby which are all within walking distant.

In Tours we stayed at the L'Univers. Our room had been renovated, apparently in the 70s? Our room was spacious and clean but just a little weird. The hotel apparently had received many very famous dignitaries during its heyday and they were all memorialized in a mural in the lobby. But I think it's fair to say that the hotel had passed its prime. And its bar was really bad. We were also put off by the fact that the hotel's parking, which is a block from the hotel, was closed due to a pending giant sidewalk sale and as a result we were forced to park about three blocks away in a municipal parking garage. (As an aside, the garage was the da Vinci Garage and our hotel attendant kept telling us the name of the garage but suffice it to say French people and Americans do not say the name "da Vinci" the same way. We had no idea what we were looking for!) The hotel should have told us about this inconvenience when we booked our rooms. We might have decided to stay somewhere else. I'm not sure what other hotels Tours has to offer, but I'm not sure I would heartily endorse L'Univers. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't commendable.
