We had an incredible stay at Hôtel & Spa Royal Madeleine! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. The breakfast was adorable and delicious (we enjoyed the sweat treats they had - and it seemed they have just brought them from a local bakery)! the private spa area was divine, and the rooms were beautifully designed and comfortable with extra large beds and comfortable pillows and mattresses☁️ We stayed in both the terrace room and the signature suite. The suite was 2 floor room; luxurious with amazing furniture, bed, and bathroom, and private jacuzzi and sauna, but we personally loved the terrace room for its cozy vibe and stunning view of Paris—it truly felt like a home away from home. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return for our next Paris visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a chic and relaxing stay in the city✨

Let me start by saying this experience started off well, but slowly turned sour. We booked this hotel for my sister’s 21st birthday, as she is studying in Paris; my mother and I decided to come spend time with her. She had checked in at 3 pm as we were travelling at a later time in the day. On arrival, we were greeted by two well-mannered gentlemen who were very helpful, especially because we needed to book another room. The room was a beautiful suite with a jacuzzi and sauna(€820 for one night). It was the only room they had available, and it was fitting for her to welcome her birthday in. It was so nice that I decided to book Friday to Sunday for my partner and me to stay. The price for that was €1986.79. However, the next morning is where it gets sour. My mother decided to ask if we could book the room again. At this point, the gentleman whom we met the night before had asked us to allow him to speak to his manager, and he would come find us. We decided to go have breakfast (if you can call it that), which was Continental, which consisted of cold runny scrambled eggs, cold bacon and tasteless sausage (yummy). After breakfast, we decided to ask the receptionist about the room and to see whether it was available for us, as we were heading out for lunch. We were greeted by a young lady who took it upon herself to check us out and gave us another room at €389. So my mum and my sister had to move all the things from the suite to my room. 20 mins after arriving in my room, we get a call from reception stating that the suite that we previously JUST moved from will be available for us to stay in as it was booked for Friday to Sunday by me. (I guess it takes a lot of water and effort to fill up the jacuzzi again just for one night.) The young lady who checked us out was very unprofessional, always butting into conversations that she wasn’t a part of. Later that evening, I went to the gentleman who checked us in and asked him if my mum and I could request a different meal for breakfast, and he suggested an omelette. I was like That would be nice. In the morning, I received a call saying they only have powdered eggs and not real eggs. I said that would be fine, I just don’t want it runny.. came down, and I guess there was a misunderstanding, which is fine. What annoyed me most was the disrespect they showed me, which made me feel like I was causing a problem. Talking about me in front of me in French (which I understood), to me, this wasn't polite. As a customer of your service, we should be treated with some respect. And for the amount of money we had spent at this hotel, I do expect some level of decent service. Makes me wonder what kind of service everyone who’s paying less was getting.

Hotel & Spa Royal Madeleine was an exquisite choice for our anniversary in Paris. The location is elegant and perfectly central, and the room was beautifully designed and exceptionally comfortable, featuring a terrace overlooking the street—absolutely gorgeous both in the morning and in the evening.|What truly elevated our stay was the staff: warm, gracious, and effortlessly attentive. A refined and romantic hotel that delivers luxury in every detail. We wouldn’t hesitate to return

We have stayed here a few times and it really is a very good alternative to the uber-expensive Paris mega hotels. Location is excellent - walking distance to the major sights and restaurants. We have stayed in many different rooms, but would recommend the suites if available as some of the best value rooms in a capital city I have found - Huge, with sitting rooms etc.. Very tasteful decor and little treats in the room.

Traveled here solo on business (also partial pleasure) and overall enjoyed the experience of this hotel. Ultimately you're paying for the location here but does have it's appeal in some ways. Side note on amentieis - there is a (cough) gym but it's tiny; basically a room with a bike & elyptical but for those wanting a pool (small) and sauna may be a good option!

I returned to this hotel after staying here in 2022, but unfortunately this time I was a bit disappointed. First of all, the check-in service didn’t feel welcoming at all. From a 4-star hotel, I would expect at least to be offered a drink – even just some water – but nothing. We were greeted with little attention, and in the background there was rock music playing on the radio… small details, but they really make a difference. The room small but clean. On arrival, we noticed that the TV remote had dead batteries. We reported it immediately and were told it would be fixed the next morning. However, when we came back later that day, nothing had been done. When we asked again, they said it couldn’t be sorted out that day (just to change a couple of batteries!). Honestly, that seemed absurd. We couldn’t use the TV until our third day, when it was finally fixed. Breakfast was another letdown. The quality was fine, but the variety was very limited – quite different from what I remembered. All in all, for (a minimum of) €400 a night, I would really expect much, much more.

I highly do not recommend this place. A dreadful check-out experience. We felt as though we were being treated like thieves or people with no respect for the property. Never in my entire hotel stay experience have I been treated this way. The hotel itself is very beautiful, with a professional and lovely housekeeping. The bar and restaurant staff were also very professional and pleasant. We were warmly welcomed upon our late-night arrival. However, the check-out was extremely unpleasant, stressful, and humiliating. After spending a week in this 4-star hotel and leaving both of our rooms in excellent condition, we were denied the return of the deposit we had paid at check-in unless “a full and thorough inspection of the rooms was carried out first”. No hotel staff has ever asked us for a room “inspection” before returning a deposit. The process was so lengthy that our taxi (for the airport) had already arrived, yet we were kept waiting for the rooms to be checked—even though the minibar had been reviewed daily in a timely manner. We were left with the feeling of being treated as potential thieves or vandals. Never before has a check-out left us with such a feeling. The staff member who handled our departure (on August 16th at 10:45 a.m.) was condescending and unpleasant. She even intended initially to make us wait longer while she personally moved and arranged about fifteen pieces of luggage belonging to other guests before going to “inspect the rooms”—despite knowing full well that our taxi was waiting outside to take us to the airport. She was alone at the front desk in the middle of August, peak tourist season in Paris, which in itself is unacceptable from a 4 stars hotel’s management. Thankfully, a technician who happened to be present insisted that she go check the rooms while he kept an eye on the luggage at the reception left in our “threatening” presence. This is far from the standards expected of a four-star hotel or any hotel for that matter. Once again, the overwhelming impression was of being treated as suspicious, troublesome guests rather than valued customers. Hugely disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel at all and would never return.

This is a beautiful hotel in a convenient location. My favorite feature was a gorgeous spacious terrace with a retractable canopy off our floor 6 room. The room itself was a bit crowded but comfortable. The third bed was a pull out. We were expecting three twins for the three of us. The AC worked great and the room was very clean. Breakfast was just OK. I expected more from a fancy Parisian hotel.

Yelp
Wooooow. This hotel is something special. Everything is so tastefully decorated. The lobby is a bit small but opens up to the most GORGEOUS restaraunt / lobby. It felt so light and airy. We had a very large 2 floor room which gave us a lot of space for our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 3 year old). The a/c was super delightful given the heat wave that was sweeping through Paris. Had no issues getting a proper baby cot that the hotel provides. We had dinner at the hotel restaraunt one night and had the yummiest cocktails and duck dishes for dinner. My only complaint would be that you had to "reserve" a time slot to swim in the pool- because its also a spa. The location was very favorable and we felt safe the entire time.

Yelp
We have been incredibly comfortable here and the staff go out of their way to be sure we have what we need. There are little touches that make this stay great, fresh macaroons, chocolates on the pillow, beautiful glass wear, a great coffee maker, stylish decor, nice big space in the bathroom for all of your products (that's pretty hard to find in Europe), a beautiful window with a view and best of all, being able to end a day with a spa and sauna is THE BEST. We don't want to leave!

Yelp
We had major issues at check-in where the front desk said the child in our group couldn't stay with his 2 parents and have three total people to a room which called for a 2 hour ordeal trying to sort things out. Also there were no pillowcases on my pillows the first night and I was so tired I didn't notice til the next morning...Room was cramped for what we paid. Continental breakfast was not great. The lobby is nice as is the decor in the rooms is cool but over all not what we expected.

Yelp
Loved staying here! Even though the room was a bit small, it was so cozy and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious everyday and the staff of the hotels is all very helpful and nice. The location was also great to do things by foot or to take the subway.

Yelp
This hotel was marvelous! I don't understand the reviews about bad management? The front desk was wonderful and very accommodating! Our room was small, yes, but that's the territory of being in such a historic building! They brilliantly turned an older Parisian building into a very unique and chic hotel! Our housekeeping was phenomenal. Rose, was such a treat. She cleaned our room spotlessly every day, knocked on our door and offered us chocolates, or during turndown service would leave chocolates on our pillows. Our bathroom was gorgeous and high end! It wasn't difficult catching a cab to any of the famous tourist destinations near the city. We did walk a lot as it wasn't too far either! The spa was great! Lots of wonderful options to choose from, I got the Jet Lag message from Zoey, she was wonderful! The pool is so glamorous and relaxing! I just wish the pool hours would have been extended. My husband and I would stay out all day/night exploring the city and we would've loved to come back and relax in the pool but unfortunately it is closed at 10pm every evening. Other than that I would love to come back!

Yelp
Hotel is quite small. I booked three rooms at three different price points. Unfortunately, they were all very similar except one was a tiny bit bigger. The room set ups were all 2 twin beds stuck together to make a full (queen?). They didn't have the rooms set up correctly when checking in and when I asked for 2 separate beds, they told me their service employees were off so I had to do it myself. They had no available blankets for the separate beds as well. Besides that, everything was pretty good. Breakfast was limited for the price but like every other restaurant, the bread and butter was really good. Service was also pretty attentive once seated. Point here is to just pick a table and sit. They don't really acknowledge you or tell you where to sit. Once you're seated though, they'll take your drink order. The view from the rooms are of the building next door. The street itself is not a major street and although it's bustling with people during the day, it's really quiet at night. The closest places to get water and other necessities are a short walk around the street to the right of the hotel when exiting.

Yelp
This hotel stole over $3,000 from me during the chaos of the inital COVID lockdowns. I made a reservation on-line in March the day before Macron announced a lock-down in Paris, I then canceled on learning of that lock-down, literally within 24 hours of making the original reservation. The hotel took my money and wouldn't give it back, nor would they give me a credit or voucher for a future stay. In my world, that is called stealing. AMEX was of no help whatsoever in disputing the charge. Don't trust the management of this hotel.
