Let me start by saying this experience started off well, but slowly turned sour. We booked this hotel for my sister’s 21st birthday, as she is studying in Paris; my mother and I decided to come spend time with her. She had checked in at 3 pm as we were travelling at a later time in the day. On arrival, we were greeted by two well-mannered gentlemen who were very helpful, especially because we needed to book another room. The room was a beautiful suite with a jacuzzi and sauna(€820 for one night). It was the only room they had available, and it was fitting for her to welcome her birthday in. It was so nice that I decided to book Friday to Sunday for my partner and me to stay. The price for that was €1986.79.
However, the next morning is where it gets sour. My mother decided to ask if we could book the room again. At this point, the gentleman whom we met the night before had asked us to allow him to speak to his manager, and he would come find us. We decided to go have breakfast (if you can call it that), which was Continental, which consisted of cold runny scrambled eggs, cold bacon and tasteless sausage (yummy).
After breakfast, we decided to ask the receptionist about the room and to see whether it was available for us, as we were heading out for lunch. We were greeted by a young lady who took it upon herself to check us out and gave us another room at €389. So my mum and my sister had to move all the things from the suite to my room. 20 mins after arriving in my room, we get a call from reception stating that the suite that we previously JUST moved from will be available for us to stay in as it was booked for Friday to Sunday by me. (I guess it takes a lot of water and effort to fill up the jacuzzi again just for one night.) The young lady who checked us out was very unprofessional, always butting into conversations that she wasn’t a part of.
Later that evening, I went to the gentleman who checked us in and asked him if my mum and I could request a different meal for breakfast, and he suggested an omelette. I was like That would be nice. In the morning, I received a call saying they only have powdered eggs and not real eggs. I said that would be fine, I just don’t want it runny.. came down, and I guess there was a misunderstanding, which is fine. What annoyed me most was the disrespect they showed me, which made me feel like I was causing a problem. Talking about me in front of me in French (which I understood), to me, this wasn't polite.
As a customer of your service, we should be treated with some respect. And for the amount of money we had spent at this hotel, I do expect some level of decent service. Makes me wonder what kind of service everyone who’s paying less was getting.
