The 6 Best Hotels in Albuquerque

"Fledgling entrepreneur and New Mexico–native Conrad Hilton opened the original property in 1939. It was his fourth hotel and the first he built in his home state. The high-rise towered as the state’s tallest building for many years, just one reason it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. It shuffled between owners over the decades until it landed in an Albuquerque businessman that wove new Andalusian-inspired details with original features, like lobby murals and key slots lining one wall of the reception area. A decade after reopening, the hotel joined the Curio Collection by Hilton. The spot zeroes in on sustainability—during its $30 million dollar renovation, Hotel Andaluz achieved LEED Gold certification and uses an impressive energy management system." - Ashley M. Biggers

Hotel Andaluz Albuquerque, Curio Collection by Hilton

"Why book? A luxury hotel overflowing with character, Hotel Andaluz lives up to its lauded place in hotelier history and seamlessly integrates sustainability measures.  Set the scene A downtown landmark, the boutique hotel is in the center of the action, whether that’s business and government meetings by day or the nightlife scene. Briefcase-totting guests share elevators with laidback actors in town to film their latest flicks. Spanish-inspired lobby casbahs and the second-story roof deck bar Ibiza attract locals celebrating special occasions.  The backstory Fledgling entrepreneur and New Mexico–native Conrad Hilton opened the original property in 1939. It was his fourth hotel and the first he built in his home state. The high-rise towered as the state’s tallest building for many years, just one reason it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. It shuffled between owners over the decades until it landed in the hands of Albuquerque businessman Gary Goodman who oversaw the renovations and reopened it as Hotel Andaluz in 2009. Goodman flawlessly wove new Andalusian-inspired details with original features, like lobby murals and key slots lining one wall of the reception area. A decade after reopening, the hotel joined the Curio Collection by Hilton. The rooms Soothing sage accents and chocolate brown furniture warm contemporary surrounds in the 107 guest rooms. Families love the junior suites, which come with sofa beds. Guests looking to indulge can opt for the Presidential Suite. Its touches of Hollywood glamour match its history: Proprietor Hilton honeymooned here with actress Zsa Zsa Gabor in 1942. Food and drink Classic Spanish small plates like patatas bravas and fusion dishes like carne adovada egg rolls star on the tapas menu at Más. Head to Ibiza Urban Lounge for craft cocktails. If the weekend crowd seems overwhelming in the main bar, reserve a private casbah in advance. Each of the intimate, lobby alcoves have distinctive décor and come with table service.    The neighborhood/area As with any metropolitan downtown, Albuquerque’s city center can have a disheveled side. Guests who can navigate the big city feel will find restaurants for every palate, craft beer tap rooms, and art galleries within easy reach. The Duke City boasts one of the oldest and most robust public art programs in the country with more than a thousand pieces in the collection; more than half are clustered downtown, so a neighborhood art walk is a must.   The service The staff is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about Albuquerque. Eco effort During its $30 million dollar renovation, Hotel Andaluz achieved LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, a leader in high performance sustainable buildings. Hidden from guests’ views, the hotel uses solar-heated water, insulated windows, LED lighting, low-flow water fixtures, and an energy management system. All lessen the hotels impact and never compromise the guest experience. The hotel invites guests to recycle, use refillable water vessels, and reuse linens throughout their stays. Accessibility Guests with disabilities will be able to navigate common spaces easily. Queen rooms are ADA compliant and feature roll in showers and other amenities. \" - Ashley M. Biggers

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Andaluz during our honeymoon road trip, and it completely exceeded our expectations. This hotel is a perfect mix of historic beauty and modern comfort. The Spanish-inspired architecture and cozy, intimate alcoves in the lobby create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else we’ve stayed. Our room was spotless, well designed, and peaceful ideal for a romantic getaway. Every detail felt thoughtful and intentional, from the plush bedding to the warm lighting. What really made our stay stand out, though, was the staff especially the valet. Hands down, he was the best valet we’ve ever met. Incredibly friendly, professional, fast, and genuinely kind. He set the tone from the moment we arrived and made us feel welcome and cared for. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond like that. We also loved the rooftop bar, with its beautiful views and expertly crafted drinks. We’ve stayed in luxury hotels across the country, but Hotel Andaluz has a soul and warmth that’s hard to find. We’ll definitely be coming back!!

Hotel is in an excellent location, nearby a lot of restaurants, brewerys and bars. The fitness center/gym is outside of the gym. It's literally a 10 second walk away from the front door though, some of the reviews saying 10-15 minute drive are going to the wrong location. Lobby is decorated wonderfully, parking is valet only. Staff are excellent, very attentive and kind. Rooms are... okay. AC fan did not work in mine as the thermostat showed. Worst part was the carpeted areas in the room were all very sticky and wet feeling? Basically could not walk on it without socks/shoes on. My coworkers reported the same in all of their rooms as well. It made the room feel nasty and honestly is the reason this is at 3 stars instead of 5.

The first time we stayed here was during our first trip to ABQ before we moved here, and we loved the hotel. The building is charming and the lobby was beyond amazing. It had an almost Moroccan aesthetic with a fountain, colored lights, and private cabana booths, (although we could never figure out how to get served at one). We called on three occasions and were told you had to reserve one ahead of time and they were only for parties of 6+, yet ever time we went there to eat at the restaurant, we saw a couple occupying one or two of them. The lobby and elevator area used to be chock full of amazing artwork as well. To our dismay, we recently dined at the new Char restaurant and were shocked at the changes they've made to the lobby area. The positives: There's now a charming little bar and live entertainment. The negatives: They've gotten rid of ALL the artwork! Why?? And the beautiful stained glass room divider that was between the lobby and elevator area? A couple of narrow rows are now flanking the restaurant entrance, but that's it. And those charming cabana booths? They're now decorated in boring neutrals, mostly beige. Fountain is gone. I understand you need to update your look once and a while, but whoever their designer was utterly destroyed the charm and personality that was there previously. Thank goodness we all have dozens of pictures to preserve our previous memories.

Located in the heart of Albuquerque, this historic hotel offers an exceptional blend of thoughtful design and chic ambiance. The service provided by the staff was truly outstanding, making for a delightful stay. I will absolutely be returning. P.S. The toiletries provided in the room—especially the lotion, shampoo, and soap—smelled incredible!

Do not recommend! We stayed at this hotel and had the worst experience. Immediately upon checking in we discovered that our room was very dirty. The carpet was sticky and the bathroom has a strong pungent smell of urine. The bathroom floor was covered in dried up urine. We then went down and spoke with the manager. He advised us that he would send someone to thoroughly clean the bathroom. Hours later when we returned to our room, the bathroom floor was still covered in urine. I attempted to wipe it up with a hotel towel. We went back downstairs and to the front desk. We asked for another room which they could not accommodate due to being fully booked. They said they would send someone up to clean again. They never came.

We didn't stay in the hotel, but we're visiting for an awards ceremony. The ballroom we were in was very nice and the staff were courteous. The artwork and history of the lobby and library were very cool. The $13 G&Ts were underwhelming.

Char at Hotel Andaluz, a Hilton Curio Collection gem, offers a dining experience that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious. From the moment you step into the artfully lit dining room—where a dramatic chandelier hangs over a striking mural—you know you’re in for something special. Wagyu Steaks on the Josper Grill The highlight of the meal is unmistakably the Wagyu steaks, presented tableside on a sizzling 400°F charcoal brick. The sirloin and carne asada cuts arrive with a perfect charred crust, their interiors a beautiful medium-rare, glistening with natural juices. The steaks are garnished with a sprig of rosemary, adding an aromatic flourish as they continue to gently cook on the hot stone. Each slice is impossibly tender, with a melt-in-your-mouth richness that only top-tier Wagyu can deliver. Sides and Sauces: Elevated Classics Accompanying the steaks are sides that deserve their own spotlight. The parmesan truffle fries are golden and crisp, tossed with fresh herbs and a generous shower of parmesan, making each bite irresistible. The Mexican street corn is served in a rustic terracotta bowl, dusted with cotija cheese and chili, and finished with a wedge of lime for a burst of freshness. A quartet of sauces—chimichurri, red and green salsa, and pickled onions—are elegantly arranged on a wooden tray, inviting you to customize each bite. Fresh, homemade mini flour tortillas are soft and warm, perfect for wrapping up slices of steak or scooping up the vibrant sauces. The Bamboo Salt & Pepper Tower A unique touch is the bamboo tower featuring Himalayan pink sea salt, coarse white sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper. This interactive tableside element allows you to season your steak to perfection, enhancing the flavors and adding a personalized touch to the meal. Dessert: Pan de Muerto White Cake The meal concludes with a show-stopping Pan de Muerto white cake. This delicate slice is moist and light, topped with a generous drizzle of strawberry coulis and a sprinkle of white chocolate. Garnished with a fresh mint leaf and artful dollops of chocolate and cream, it’s as beautiful as it is delicious—a sweet, festive finale that lingers on the palate. Service and Atmosphere What truly sets Char apart is the exceptional service. Alysha’s attentive and charming hospitality redefines the dining experience, anticipating every need and making each guest feel genuinely cared for. Her thoughtful recommendations and warm presence elevate the meal from great to unforgettable. Continuous Improvement Having visited Char before, the continuous enhancements are clear. Each visit brings noticeable improvements in both food and service, reflecting a commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. Final Impressions Char delivers a steakhouse experience that blends culinary artistry with genuine hospitality. The Wagyu steaks are among the best in Albuquerque, and every detail—from the bamboo salt tower to the decadent dessert—shows a restaurant at the top of its game. Whether you’re a steak connoisseur or simply seeking a memorable night out, Char is a destination that delights all the senses.

I had high hopes for this hotel, but my husband and I left extremely disappointed after our stay. I’ll start with the positive things: the lobby/lounge area is beautifully decorated, the restaurant, Char, was great, and the majority of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Now for the negatives- our hotel room smelled horrible. It was this musty/moldy smell. The carpet was sticky, the fridge was broken, there were stains on the bedding, a dirty wash cloth in the shower, and the bedroom and bathroom just weren’t very clean in general and the room just seemed outdated and in desperate need of a refresh. We tried to move rooms on the day we arrived, but they couldn’t move us until the next day. It was terrible having to stay in that room, it just smelled so bad! Avoid room 808 at all costs! The new room was an upgrade at no additional charge, which is the very least that they could of done in my opinion. The new room was definitely better, but again it was outdated, run down, and still there was a slight smell in the air. It seems to be coming from the AC vents. Might want to get that looked at. This hotel is valet parking only and on one of the nights we got back from dinner around 10:30 and there were no valet staff to assist us. I went inside to the front desk and told the man that we needed help with parking. He then told me that the valet was full and we couldn’t park there tonight. I explained that we have been valeting the entire time we were there and paying for it, so that doesn’t make sense. He just said “sorry” and told me to park in the public parking garage that is down the street around the corner. We had to park the car somewhere, so that’s what we did. Just an FYI, that parking garage is gross and sketchy. The guy behind the desk was also the one who really couldn’t assist us in moving rooms on the day that we got in. I can’t remember what his name is, but he is tall, skinny, pale, with long blonde hair. He was the least helpful person at the hotel. The next day we went down to complain and we spoke to Maria. She agreed that it wasn’t right and we should’ve been able to valet when we got back that night. She also stated that she would remove the $21 fee for valet for that day. She was also the one that helped us in getting a different room. When we got our final bill they never took off the one $21 valet charge and we never got our daily food and beverage credit deducted either. Overall, if you are staying in Albuquerque and are looking for a hotel in the downtown area, do not stay here. We should of stayed at the Double Tree Hilton down the street, but we were looking for a more unique hotel stay. I guess we got that, but in a very negative way. The issues we experienced really put a damper on our trip. We have stayed at around 15 different Hilton properties over the last few years and have never had any issues. This hotel definitely doesn’t live up to Hilton standards.

Yelp
We stayed for one night while exploring the saturday nightlife of Albuquerque. It's an old building but maintained very well. Friendly staff. I liked the design of the room and the bathroom style. We booked a queen room but got upgraded to the king while checking in. Thank you so much for that. The room was clean and very large size. The hotel is located within walking distance to the restaurants and bars. We didn't use their valet service, we parked ourselves at a parking structure in a short distance -like behind the building. We had their breakfast the next morning. We sat near to the fountain. I like the ambiance and how decorated the hotel for Christmas. Our server was friendly.. My husband got huevos rancheros and I ordered avocado toast with eggs. I liked mine. It came with 2 slices of bread topped with avocado, radish, onion, and eggs. I was able to eat just one and got the rest with me. Toast was good, not the best but very enjoyable. My husband loved the huevos rancheros. He said it was perfect. The portion was very big. Looked very yummy.

Yelp
The property is old but well maintained. The staff is helpful and professional. I recommend this property if one is staying downtown.

Yelp
This week, I traveled to New Mexico for some business and I stayed at Hotel Andaluz in downtown Albuquerque. This historic hotel is notable as the fourth establishment ever constructed by Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. It also holds the distinction of being the first building in New Mexico to have air conditioning. It was constructed in 1939. The Hilton family sold the hotel in 1969, and it changed ownership several times before becoming part of the Curio Collection by Hilton in 2019. Additionally, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Beautiful hotel with a great story. I enjoyed my time! Staff was friendly, great in house food. The only real con was it is valet only. Sometimes it took awhile to retrieve the car. Oh and no continental breakfast, that stunk too. Overall amazing and beautiful.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way down to Scottsdale. Hotel is in a great area. I hope to revisit it again after the renovation of the restaurant, elevators, and bar is complete.

Yelp
What a perfect hotel to kick off our trip! This is such a beautiful hotel. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I was captivated by the stunning architecture and Southwest-inspired design. It exudes a sense of grandeur and elegance while maintaining a relaxed and comfortable ambiance. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and had the same vibe as the rest of the hotel. It's in a good central location in the heart of Albuquerque.

Yelp
Hotel Andaluz Albuquerque in New Mexico is a Hilton hotel. Parking is valet only at $19 per night. I stayed one night here on 6/13/2023. There are three reasons why I'm knocking off 2 stars: 1) - which really can't be helped, but it's not the best area. Sure, there are great businesses here. Only problem is, as a female traveling alone even with my usual protective gear on my person, this is not a pleasant area to walk to restaurants or a coffee because of all the transients, homeless, drunk & drugged folks roaming around aimlessly. 2) - the employees here other than valet and housekeeping are not amicable or welcoming. In fact, no one really seems to be watching the door so any random, non-Hilton patron can enter the building because unfortunately the valets are constantly busy. The operator was difficult for me to hear on the room phone when I requested my vehicle be brought down and I tried repeating what she said but she was straight up rude. Ya girl don't play that way in person. Must have been empowering to be so disrespectful on a landline. 3) - they changed my room that I chose through the app to the worst possible view. I don't think it's too much to ask for when my single adult stay came out to $209.43. Also, I was happy when I saw the tub, then realized there was no drain stopper. The one time I wanted to soak my bones in the tub, I wasn't able to. Why even give me a choice if you're not going to honor it? My room was well-maintained and clean even if a bit claustrophobic. I was just a bit worried when valet assigned not one, but two tickets to my Jeep. I received a "I'm not sure how that happened ma'am" when I asked so. The lobby was beautiful. You can reserve the little areas for cocktails with friends. There was a restaurant on site that I didn't try. It's beautiful inside and out. The elevators worked relatively quickly. But... Hard pass on this place.

Yelp
Went for a real estate Christmas event. The DJ was not good but everything else was. They had a taco bar and regular drink bar. Deserts were little cheesecakes. Really nice venue.

Yelp
I stayed here for work in October of 2024 and would not return. First off, the hotel is under major renovations which is fine, I understand that happens, BUT it was not posted on their site letting customers know. I walked in to the hotel to check in and you don't know where to go, they didn't offer water or recognize Hilton honors guests. After checking in I went to the 1 working elevator which takes a long time because they only have the one functioning. The carpets and rugs are filthy and stained. I went into the room and the bathroom was tiny and had zero place to put toiletries. They had a basket on the FLOOR with a couple towels. Tub didn't drain and the fabrics including the lamp shade was filthy and stained. The rate was fairly expensive and the following night I traveled to a MUCH nicer hotel in Dallas for less. They also did not have a hotel gym. You have to leave the hotel and go down several blocks downtown to go to a partnered gym which for a female who travels is not safe. This hotel needs to be more upfront about their lack of amenities and do some cleaning.

Yelp
Names are important when you get to know folk & Andaluz gets it! It was nice to feel welcomed when entering the room The check-in was seamless with Maria and Kenneth. There was a great introduction to the property and the hospitality was exceptional! There's a restaurant on the first floor and a bar on another. The location is warm and inviting. It feels like you're settling into a cozy casita at a family or friend's home. It's downtown, so food and activity is easy to access. There's valet and self-parking (very close to hotel entrance). I received great suggestions for things to do and best places to eat (the experience was a match to the word of mouth recommendation). And don't worry about soap, shampoo, and conditioner...they opted for the Molton Brown collection There are parks nearby if you have children. This stay was for a layover, but I must make it a point to return and really take in the Albuquerque vibes soon! Even my girls loved the stay. Thanks to property and staff for a pleasant experience

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a couple of nights while on vacation. The hotel room was fine but the bathroom was so tiny. No place to put your toiletries or hang up your towels. Also the shower head needed to be replaced. It shot water everywhere. I did not order maid service (it was not automatic) but they did make up my room the 2nd day which was nice. This hotel is right near the convention center if you were there for a conference but not much else is around. Its a pretty run down area with lots of empty spaces and a bit of a homeless population. It was a bit scary walking along at night. Only a few restaurants near by so not much within walking distance. Also, there did not seem to be a gym in hotel. What hotel does not have a gym these days, especially in a downtown area? I did try to buy a soda from the small gift shop in the reception area but there was no staff there. Someone from the restaurant was nice enough to get the soda put on my bill. Overall not a bad stay but I would stay elsewhere if I came to Albuquerque again.

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel one of the original Conrad Hilton property they have a great bar and restaurant and the there are some great place to relax in the lobby to have drinks with friends.

Yelp
Nice property. Well maintained and pretty inside. Why the three stars? The area. It's grim. Barren at night except for low riders and jacked up pickups spewing black oil smoke and ear splitting loud boom music. Not their fault but something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to homeless camps, a deeply intrenched gang scene, and panhandlers.

Yelp
Hands down this is one of the best hotels downtown ABQ. Once Albuquerque's tallest building, the hotel was the fourth erected by Conrad Hilton, built in 1939 with decor inspired by Spain's Andalusian region. The hotel is one block from the convention center - they also have 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space. There is a rooftop bar and lounge. I will have to spend time there on my next trip As a 4-star boutique hotel I found it intriguing that they offer a library, and dry cleaning/laundry services just to name a few. Enjoy the brunch at the onsite restaurant. Free in-room WiFi is available to all guests, along with 2 bars and a gym. Perks include: Cooked-to-order breakfast (surcharge), access to a nearby indoor pool, and access to a nearby health club Express check-out, a computer station, and an elevator A gift shop, a reception hall, and a 24-hour front desk they also provided water bottles gifted to its patrons with a reverse osmosis water system near the elevator on each floor. There are 107 rooms total all with striking appeal and comfort. Each room has a mini fridge, a 36 inch flat screen TV, and microwaves on request. It was more of the look and appeal that pushed me to book with this location. There is still more to explore. So on my next trip. I will be staying here again

Yelp
The worst hotel. Would never recommend. Booked room through site and it looked fantastic. We booked because we were excited about great Tapas restaurant and the rooftop bar. When we got there we checked in early at 11am and knew room might not be ready then but room was not ready till 4. We thought we would just eat. Well, restaurant is closed down, not operational and no one mentioned that. Well, we will go to rooftop bar. Nope that's closed too. So we went somewhere else to eat and drink. We finally got checked in at 4 and the room was ok, not over the top but expensive much more than most hotels in Albuquerque. We were flying out the next day on a long flight so would like to get a great rest. 8:00am construction started right above our room. Jack hammers started and did not stop even while we left at 11am it was still going strong. So loud we could not even talk. Construction debris was being removed in main elevator as well. We asked to speak to a manager and they refused. Asked manager to call and he never did. Reported to booking platform and they told me I'm out of luck the hotel has a strict no refund policy no matter what. I would never book with them or Hilton again. No one told us that all amenities were not in use and that they would be doing construction on hotel. This is something that should be said. $276 dollars a night for this? Never again.

Yelp
Horrible communication and no service from this Hilton location. We arrived to find all the doors closed with signs at the entrance with blacked out doors and windows. No Hotel attendants at Valet or any where outside. We booked the hotel online a few days before. After a few minutes a "Film Crew Member" greeted us and escorted us through a filming of a wedding scene for the upcoming HBO series Duster. Try getting yourself and a luggage dolly down a narrow walkway past a 50+ extras on one side and the craft services table! We check in and no apologies for not being told in advance about the inconvenience of not being able to use the amenities or the elevators going down every 10 minutes. We also have to be escorted and shushed. Not so fun for hotel guests. No discount or apologies either because as the manager put it they don't have to tell you squat!!

Yelp
Place is historic! Amazing lobby area. Very nice atmosphere here. Just makes you feel comfortable. They do offer valet parking for a cost. Located downtown Albuquerque. Kind of a bad area but the place is worth it.

Ken W.

Yelp
I hear LOUD beeping every time the elevator hits a new floor - I hear this form inside my room! Front desk was rude and unhelpful. I can't get a new room as the only ones available are next to the elevator. I guess they know about the beeping so they try not to book those rooms, huh?

Yelp
We were passing through New Mexico and decided to stay at the Hotel Andaluz Albuquerque -- they're part of Hilton's Curio Collection and we've had good experiences in the past staying at other hotels within the collection. We also prefer Hilton's digital, contactless check-in process but despite checking in on the Hilton app hours before (think 9/10 AM), our room was still not ready at arrival ~6 PM. The keyless entry method also didn't work and we found this out in the most inconvenient way, when we've already made it to our floor with our luggages but the door wouldn't unlock with our phones so we had to make our way back down to the lobby to get a physical room key. The lobby was charming and quaint; the room's decor and amenities were a bit outdated (spacious though!). Tip: If you plan to use any Food & Beverage Credit, I highly recommend triple checking the bill and settling any discrepancies in person upon check-out. We specifically checked with the staff to confirm what spending is eligible to count towards the credit. However, no credit was applied. We didn't catch this until after we've already checked out via the app, left the hotel, and finally received next day our receipt. We've reached out to the hotel twice for clarity but still have yet to hear back.

Yelp
There is no way this hotel should have 3 stars... someone must have been confused. This place is 5 stars all the way. It's officially a 4 star hotel, but our experience was 5 or 6! We have stayed here two weekends in a row now, and will probably be back next weekend. (side note: this place saved us after trying to stay at the Rio Rancho Hilton Garden Inn, and it was the worst experience at a hotel. Hilton should remove their name from that place). Everyone is so friendly here, David the valet, Brian the front desk guy and all the front desk people, the security guy. This place is small enough that everyone will get to know you, in a good way. Main great things about this place: The AC blasts and keeps you very cool even in this crazy ABQ temps The rooms are large, not really cheap but well worth it. The King bed includes a sitting area with a couch and double sinks.. so much better than the regular small rooms you see at the other hotels. We didn't hear anyone from other rooms, it was nice and private. Only one night there were loud people in the hallway. Beds are great, sooooo soft, and they have options for non feathers. This is the only place in ABQ we will stay at. Have you looked up all the other 4 stars hotels... terrible reviews. Oh, last thing, every time the room was clean!

Yelp
Hotel is dated, probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Stay somewhere else.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. My friend and I had the worst experience of her life staying here. We got back to our room after all day in the desert and it was completely cleaned out and they took all of our stuff and put it in bags in reception. My friend got back first and went down there, where they said first that "someone changed her reservation" and then it was that she had "mysteriously checked out" and then saying that she asked for a receipt therefore they assumed that she was checking out and it's her fault for not being clear enough that she wasn't actually checking out. They made her dump out all of her stuff to ensure she wasn't missing anything, even though some of it was. The entire staff was terrible, except for valet. They were super accommodating. Isaac, the manager, specifically has been terrible through this.

Yelp
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Room was very outdated and very dark and could have been cleaner, our bathroom smelled funny. It was also extremely warm in our room. When I complained I got a fan, not much else. My husband got 2 hours of sleep it was so warm and uncomfortable. The shower took forever to warm up, almost 15 minutes I thought it was broken. The food in the restaurant was good but very expensive which was not great. We only stayed one not but that was too long for us. Find somewhere else to stay. I asked for a Manager to give us a call and that call never came, and doubt it will.

Yelp
I could not hate this hotel more. On a recent visit to Albuquerque, we reserved a room at Hotel Andaluz. From the moment we stepped in the door, I knew we made a mistake. The lobby has an overpowering smell of a sweet incense-like scent. It is so strong that it's nausea-inducing and it's inescapable in all common areas. What are they attempting to cover up? The most egregious issue though, was the absolutely dismal customer service from reception and also the on-site bar's staff. The lady at reception did not greet us when we walked in, but merely glanced at us until I politely asked if we could check in a little early. (It was 1:00 PM.) She rudely responded that it would be a $24 charge. I've never heard of such a thing! She wouldn't even remove it when we provided our Hilton Honors Diamond status info. She continued with her poor attitude, acting as if we were bothering her. The room thankfully smelled less offensive than the lobby but was shabby, severely outdated and needed a deep cleaning. This place is listed on the historic register but I feel, with a few modern updates, it would be better-suited to house the multitude of homeless people conveniently located just outside the hotel in all directions. (Read: not a great, safe location either) As for the bar staff, they ignored my husband, waiting patiently for over 10 minutes, despite chatting with each other. We eventually gave up and left. I hate this place. It is not fitting of the Curio standards, the staff are atrocious, it smells noxious, it's in a bad area and lastly, they don't even provide complimentary coffee like literally every other hotel on the planet.

Yelp
Looking for a great spot to grab a bite, have a drink, and work on your latest WIP? I'm sure this place is hoppin on weekend evenings. During the daytime, it's a cozy space to vibe! Draw in inspiration from your surroundings while you work on your latest project. As a writer, I found a nice drink taken in the quiet and comfortable library was exactly what I needed to get my creative juices flowing.

Yelp
Nice hotel lobby. Tapas restaurant from there. Pretty pictures and photos and fountain that changes colors. Love the private rooms for the lobby for group drinks or meals. Also has a bar in lobby. Fancy library with old books. Lots of character.

Yelp
I love this historic hotel. It has an abundance of public spaces, on the first floor and the mezzanine, from a library to fun seating areas and just wonderful to wander around. I have a weakness for historic hotels and stay in them when I can, but usually it's just the lobby and public spaces that show their rich history, from the elevators to the doors to the hallways, history is preserved!

Yelp
Never stayed but paid. We got there at 10:30pm on a Saturday no service no valet no way to park. Cops everywhere- had our family and small children not a safe place. Downtown hell. No mention of this on the Hilton site. Called and said we went to the Hilton Garden inn and asked for the manager to call to discuss the non welcoming environment and no way to park issue and they never did. Not surprised we are out $350 with no service. This place is in the middle of the downtown marijuana party scene is all the front desk said to me - not a place for family's or anyone over 40.

Yelp
This hotel was frayed at the edges with a hodgepodge decor in the room. It felt worn with few amenities for the cost.

Yelp
If you expect flushing toilets and clean linens find another hotel. I loved this place the first time I stayed here in February 2022. It was clean as a whistle. This time I was less impressed with the digs. Both visits I stayed in corner rooms. We stayed corner room 411 this time around. At first glance everything looked great but while settling in I noticed how unkempt the room was. The coffee maker was grimy on top. There were cobwebs on the corners of the ceiling and in the bathroom. The red splatter demarcation line on the bathroom ceiling had me thinking "was it murder, rust or red hair dye?" The office lamps on the desk were turning on on their own. Giving the room a ghostly feel and possible explanation to the the mysterious red demarcation line in the bathroom. Lovely if you're a ghost hunter. There are no doors in the shower, beware of flooding and slippery floors. Shower has bars if you are in need of assistance. Water pressure is good and shower head has multiple settings. Toilets is fatty friendly. The bathroom sink top is level and tends to collect water when you wash your hands. There were two phones in the room, cordless one at the desk area and one at the night table. After many attempts to call the front desk with no dial-tone I determined the cordless phone at the desk area was not working. It could tell it had power because of the red indicator light. The corded one on the night table was functioning. The toilet wasn't flushing. The tank top doesn't fit because it's a replacement top. The push buttons were not making a connection with the internal tank mechanism. Maintenance came up to "fix it" by switching the flush buttons but that did not resolve the issue. I had to take the lid off and turn it around in order to have a functional flushing toilet. They have complementary shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body soap. Some of them are floral and a tad masculine. The lotion is has a strong masculine scent. The body wash is floral with a strong zebra gum scent, leaves you smelling like an 8 year old frolicking through a flower field while chewing zebra gum. That was a nice surprise. The coffee area was well stocked with creamer, sugar and sugar alternatives. Made the Piñon coffee it tasted like hazelnuts. Three of four pillows on one bed smelled of sweat and cologne. I pulled the first pillow off the second bed, which thankfully smelled clean and chucked the rest on the floor. When we mentioned the pillows and toilet situation at check out, front desk was blasé about the situation and basically said we were S.O.L because we talked through a third-party. They did comp the $17 for valet parking. AC was fantastic! Update 8/27/22: Emailed the third-party booking site. They spoke with someone at the Andaluz. The representative stated that we did not mention the problems with our room, we're unaware of the incidents. What a load of BS. When we called for maintenance to fix the non flushing toilet it took an hour for them to arrive.

Yelp
This is a pair of emails sent to "contactus@hotelandaluz.com" about our stay in October. I was astonished that I did not receive a reply. I left both an email and phone number. "I would like to register a complaint about our recent stay at your hotel.  We were guests on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14. I was offered a choice of third or eighth floor when checking in. Lower floors are generally safer, so I took room 310.  We enjoyed the jazz band in the lobby when returning from dinner, but were dismayed to find that a band had been engaged to play starting at 9:00 in the Casbah bar below our room. There is apparently little to block the noise in the mezzanine level as we could hear every song well-enough to identify the tune. The single pair of foam earplugs were of little use to me and obviously no use to my partner. Even with earplugs, the bass drum and bass guitar were quite audible. I called the front desk to see if we could switch rooms but was told the hotel was fully-booked and there was nothing that could be done.  The main reason for being as a hotel is to provide a comfortable bed where one can get a decent night's sleep. Everything else is a luxury item. At this your hotel failed miserably. Thankfully, there was no live music on Saturday night."  Twelve days later: "I rechecked my inbox, trash and junk mail but did not see a reply to my email.  I suppose a copy of this correspondence will suffice for a review on Trip Advisor, Yelp, Google, et al."

Rolando B.

Yelp
First of all, as we arrived to check-in to the front desk, the lady did not care to greet us. Not a "Hello, I'll be with you shortly", she just sat there finishing whatever she was doing and then proceeded to ask for the reservation number. That's the wrong way to greet someone and being that she was the first person we dealt with, it was already looking bad. I requested a digital key and my app said to see the front desk, as I showed her my phone, I was met with "It must be your phone, it looks fine on my end". That wasn't my fault, how about offer a solution rather than just blame the customer? She must forget that she works in hospitality! Secondly, this hotel looks NOTHING like what was advertised. This hotel is old and smells like its old (look at the other reviews). The bathroom looked nothing like it was advertised on the Hilton website (look at the other reviews). Thirdly, it would be nice to somehow make your guests aware that there is a party with loud live music until 10pm. I called the front desk because it was so loud I couldn't sleep and was told "They should be done by 10." Well, they were'nt, the music didnt end until 10:15 ish. I could hear people singing and cheering for hours until their party ended. That same night, two gentlemen from the front desk came and knocked on my door and accused me of something I didn't do! They said they came about the situation downstairs, I had no idea what they were talking about. One very aggresive older man said "Where is your friend!?", I had no idea what this man was talking about as I had no guests up to my room. He proceeded to accuse me of someone coming to my room, so I swung the door wide open and asked them to come in and check if someone was in my room, there wasnt anyone in my room, nor did I have any visitors. Somehow, I felt like I was being profiled. Fourth, the TV didnt connect to the wifi very well, as I couldnt watch TV becuase it kept freezing every 10 minutes. I must have restarted the tv 10 times, with no solution. There was some separate charges on my credit card that werent on my receipt, so I called on 9/17/24 to ask. Im pretty sure it was that same front desk woman, she picked up the phone and immediately put me on hold, no greeting no nothing. She finally came back on the phone and asked what I needed, I was explaining to her what I needed, before I could even finish she says "Mhmm and put me on hold". She comes back on the phone and asks me for reservation number, this person clearly needs to take a training class on hospitality as she offers ZERO of it. Lastly, 3 of our Uber drivers warned us to be aware of our surroundings and to not wander around outside the hotel area due to it not being safe (see other reviews). This is one of the higher priced hotels in Albuquerqe, not sure why. I would recommend spending a little more money and staying at Chaco, your experince will be well worth it.

Yelp
I stayed for 2 nights and we held a large Celebration of Life for an employee, the hotel is beautiful that staff was extremely helpful and kind. We had a wonderful time, the food was fantastic!! The housekeepers were so sweet, when you were alkyd by them in that hallway they stopped what they were doing a greeted you with a smile and asked house you were doing. The beds were great! Rooms were spacious with beautiful views!

Yelp
This is a lovely hotel right next to the convention center. It is an older building but well done inside with thoughtful touches and beautiful art. There's a free parking lot to the side of the hotel and navigation to and from the hotel is very easy thanks to its central location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was pretty big, very clean, and nicely decorated. Definitely great value for the price! We'd totally recommend staying here.

Yelp
We were charged $200 unexpectedly for "damaged sheets and mattress pad". We stayed in this hotel for one night, both showered before bed, and slept for maybe five hours. We received no notifications, emails or pictures of the supposed damage. This extra charge simply appeared on our credit card. We in no way damaged their linens, and the entire situation felt extremely scammy. Their online support services were extremely unhelpful. Overall, VERY unhappy with this hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful fancy hotel. The rooms are great and the big bathtub was ideal for the stay. The downstairs restaurant was delicious as well. Definitely will be staying here again.

Yelp
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and the valet recommended the hotel restaurant for the night we arrived and we were pretty blown away by the quality and presentation of the food, despite the restaurant being short staffed the service was excellent. One of our party had the pork tomahawk and his comments were 'the best meal since being here' (we have been in the US for a month now. The vegetarian risotto was lovely and the tapas varied, tasty and really well presented. Would not hesitate to stay or eat here again.

Yelp
Not given room that was 1) reserved and 2) prepaid. While checking in staff made no mention that they giving my family a downgrade at the premium price of the room that was requested. When I informed the staff, the staff said that my Double King Delux room was given to a group with a greater number of people. I was told that there was no management on duty (Friday night during the Ballon Fiesta) to address the misleading, bait and switch, and the inability to do anything because the hotel is completely booked. We need the space that we paid for. We need the room that we reserved. This is beyond a Mickey Mouse Operation - this is criminal!

Yelp
The Andaluz sits across from the convention center. I suspect that, pre-pandemic, this hotel was a revolving door of people. It should be. I seem to be one of a handful of people here so I feel a bit like a ghost in this grand little hotel. It's not like the Shining but I walk around imagining all the wonderful reasons I would want to book this cozy hotel. Wedding? Yes. Anniversary? Yes. Graduation? Yes. I could go on. There are a series of nooks hugging the lobby and this is where I'd like to sit with a close friend to luxuriate and drink in all the romantic ambience. Our shared spaces are still mostly in suspended animation. For now, we rely upon our collective imaginations to keep going as we wait for our sad nightmare to end. It will. It will. Won't it be great to see this lobby filled with laughter and romance once again?

Yelp
I'm not able to give a full account of this hotel since we were simply there 9-hours. I booked Hotel Andaluz for our overnight stay as the halfway point in our journey. I was concerned about staying just anywhere due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I looked for a hotel in Albuquerque I thought would be on the higher end price wise and would hopefully take good precautions with cleanliness. We're Hilton Honors guests, so I checked Hilton properties when doing my search. We arrived late and left early. I checked in on the Hilton app and used the Hilton app for my room key. By using their app to complete these transactions, I bypassed Hilton employees. Therefore, I don't know how a usual check in would be. I checked out on the Hilton app as well. Honestly, it was an odd feeling not experiencing a typical hotel check in and check out. Our room was clean and in working order. It was a no frills room. It had a king size bed with a sitting area and a desk and chair. The bathroom area was a nice size. It had double sinks and an open concept closet and drawers section across from the sinks. The toilet and shower were together in another room with a door as you walked into the hotel room. Molton Brown products (large size with pumps) were the featured hand soap, lotion and shower products. The lobby was nicely decorated and the architecture of the hotel was inviting. I only stopped to snap some photos and we were on our way. The few guests we saw were wearing masks as were we. So were the two Hilton employees we saw walking through the lobby. The hotel felt very empty as did Albuquerque as a whole. If I were ever back in Albuquerque, I would book at Hotel Andaluz again. Be well, travelers!

Yelp
This hotel was the 3rd hotel built by Conrad Hilton when he started his hotel business and recently became a Hilton property again last year (2019). I must say the beautiful details are part of the charm in staying here. From the ceilings to the floors this place sparkles with personality. I stayed here recently for business and found the guest rooms charming with ample room, a comfy sofa, and lots of natural light. They also featured robes! Always a nice perk to be able to lounge around in. Bonus they have very quick room service which is so nice for the tired traveler! The hotel's dedication to reducing waste/going green is commendable from water filling stations to no more little shampoo/conditioner bottles. Frequent traveler? Diamond members receive a $10 credit for breakfast at Mas, the in house restaurant. Use it, all rhe breakfast options are delicious!

Yelp
I really just don't get all these snarky negative reviews about this absolute Jem of a Vintage beautifully preserved Hotel .After a very Challenging flying the Southwest Airlines stop then another stop 8 hours from Oakland to Albuquerque and then major Drama getting my rent a car , I was determined not to stay in a random faceless Radisson off the freeway . Meandered Downtown and landed at the Hotel Andaluz and found my bank account had been frozen from my rent a car people .The lovely accommodating reception Agent MIKAH just was awesome she was determined i was to get a room there . It was a great feat between me calling my bank and her calling her manager i just made the 248. 00 room charge BRAVO Mikah ! I love this place and for David Bowie fans This beautiful hotel is where Thomas Jerome Newton was held captive .And im wearing my English duffel coat here in his honor

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights on my trip and was Not impressed. The room was so hot, No water at checkin, my room smelled Moldy and the toilet flush buttons didn't work, I had to lift the top of and manually flush. The breakfast took forever and was not hot. Overall, for the price of this hotel - it's old and not being managed well. Disappointing for Hilton chain!

Yelp
UNSAFE! Our tire was slashed at 5pm in their parking lot. We were told this never happens, but it looks like another guest had his/her car vandalized here 5 days ago as well. On top of their false claims, management did nothing to compensate us for our stay, stating it was out of their control. No compassion or courtesy at all.

Yelp
Reserving a room at the hotel was very easy via Hilton's website. Being a Hhonor member, I was able to pick my room the day before arrival. When I had arrived at the hotel, Rosie and Bryce, had greeted me in the reception room, which is very unique with very pictures of Conrad Hilton, pictures of the hotel of the past. Both, Rosie and Bryce were both very friendly and outgoing. Bryce went over the amenities of the hotel then directed me to the elevators. The lobby has several private seating and public seating areas. Very aztec decor. I had requested a king room which is pretty standard. The bed was very comfortable. Great work space. I was very satisfied with the room. Being a Gold member, I was able to enjoy the breakfast which was located in the main restaurant, on the main floor. The menu has a little bit of everything for breakfast. The omelette are incredible. Highly recommended. Overall, a great hotel to stay and I would recommend this hotel!

Yelp
I'm a Hilton person. So when I found this hotel on Hilton's web site I had to try it. Hotel Andaluz Albuquerque, Curio Collection by Hilton. A little history, this was Conrad Hilton 4th hotel he built in 1939. It's been totally remodeled in 2016. If your into the green movement this is for you. The have a Gold Leed Certifed hotel. The hotel has a small personal feel to it. Try it out.

Yelp
Christmas dinner was a nightmare, but was described to be a three-course delicacy. Was without kids for the first time in 23 years, and made a reservation just for me to have a lovely Christmas dinner that I didn't have to cook. At $100 a person, the first red flag for me was that the underside of the salad was wilted but covered with fresh arugula to hide it. Soup came out before I could finish the salad. Small portion of soup served over a large flat bowel and went cold very fast. Mushroom veggie main course looked like a small pile of mess on a large plate. I let my server know I didn't think I could eat it. She insisted I speak with a chef. After expressing to her that I didn't want to and I didn't want a main course. She ignored me and had them remake it. It was made with the same overcooked mushrooms they put on the last plate, but this time, there was a circle of red chile sauce at the bottom. I could not cut nor chew the mushrooms and began to get a stomach ache. I did not want to stick around for the dessert and asked for my bill. Asked my server if their was room at the bar for me, and was informed I could be squeezed into a sofa in the corner of the bar. I couldn't take any more and left. Started tearing up as I left the Hotel Andeluz from such magnanimous disappointment. Will make it a point to never do that again and will recommend others do the same.

Yelp
Five stars for the tub! I booked one night here while in town specifically to soak the evening away and the tub did not disappoint! Not sure if there's one in every room, so when booking be sure to ask/get one, as I think it's the main selling point for staying here vs anywhere else in the downtown area. It's large and deep and comes with some delightful smelling bath salts and you can even see/watch the giant TV from it! Other than the tub, the room is pretty standard/spacious. The hotel is very close to the airport (7 minutes, give or take)!

Yelp
Came on business to Albuquerque and stayed here. Was concerned at first considering it is a kind of artsy hotel but have been pleasantly surprised. The service has been impeccable and the decor is pretty amazing. It is a completely green hotel which means no ice machines but it didn't bother me. I had reserved a queen room since that's all that was available on my rate but I messaged them the day of and was upgraded to a king suite. Room was beautiful and well apportioned. One negative was there is no tub and the shower "door" is a half piece of glass and when I shower water gets all over the floor. Guess it's a New Mexico thing? The air here is very dry and I had trouble sleeping the first night. I asked if they had humidifiers and one was brought right up to me by Joseph. I can't say enough about him. He has checked in with me twice to see how my stay has been. The complimentary coffee in the morning is a nice touch. The bar on the second floor has very friendly staff and a great happy hour menu. If I come back I will certainly stay here again.
