Avoid this hotel. The owner showed no kindness or understanding. By mistake, I booked this property because the village shares the same name as one in Corfu. As soon as I realised, I contacted the hotel more than 48 hours before arrival, politely explaining the error and asking if they could cancel and refund my booking.
The hotel had no availability left on Booking.com, which means they could easily resell the room, likely at an even higher price given it’s peak season. I even acknowledged that technically a cancellation fee applied, but I reached out early, hoping they would show some flexibility given the genuine mistake.
Unfortunately, the owner refused to consider my situation, saying only that it was my fault and that I had to pay the cancellation fee.
I was very disappointed by the complete lack of empathy or generosity. In hospitality, a little understanding goes a long way—especially when the room could have been rebooked without any loss to the property. Sadly, the owner clearly doesn’t see it that way.
