Hotel Aqva

A super nice place to stay while in one of the most beautiful cities in Sweden. Welcomed by the proprietor who was very pleasant. Nice room, Junior Suite, the bathroom a bit on the smallish side but everything else is great. Well worth a stay.

Hotell Aqva is in downtown Mariestad and very convenient for walking to everywhere locally. Mariestad is a pretty town on the lake, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.. The Hotell itself is small, and the stairs are winding and steep, no elevator. We could not get suitcases up the stairs, so had to transport clothing for the next day in paper bags. :) The room is tiny, with the smallest bathroom I've seen in my Sweden trips. However, the positive is that the managers/staff are very friendly, kind, and helpful; breakfast was very good; and the place is clean and nicely decorated.

An unexpected offer of a free evening meal was very welcome - and delicious too.

Sufficient for my needs on a business trip. A simple inner city hotel.||Small, with no lift, and steep stairs.||Mould in the grouting in the shower, but at least the shower was hot and powerful, to get the day off to a good start. Kettle and fridge in the hall of each floor is a small plus. Reasonable when compared to other, similarly expensive hotels in Sweden. Not a place I will go back if possible.

I was staying 2 weeks here, definitely it deserves 5 stars, right in the center, literally 2m to Ica, parking place, wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Very clean and cozy! Very friendly personnel and food was very tasty, looking forward to eat that Lax soup 🍲 again. Thank you so much Sofia for wonderful time and services!

Great breakfast and very friendly staff. The room was quite warm but not so strange when it was between +25-30c outside. The bed was a bit to soft for me.||||It was nice that you where able to sit outside and have your breakfast. For the price I paid it was good.

Lovely owner who makes sure your stay is comfortable. Delicious breakfast with lots of options and a very complete dinner. The only bad highlight I would have is the small size of the bathroom sink, but even thiugh, I will repeat my stay there!

Both pros and cons. It was a bit hard to sleep in the very soft beds, since it was very hot in the the room. With the windows left open it was a bit noisy too. Some renovation might be good. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast. They wanted to charge for extra towels (very worn out ones ...)
