Great first dinner in Montenegro – generous portions, excellent wine, and warm hospitality
After a late arrival in Podgorica, we chose to have our first dinner in Montenegro at the restaurant at Hotel Aria, mainly for convenience since we were staying nearby (see my review of Apartmani Tri Hrasta – Three Oaks). It turned out to be a great decision.
We were warmly welcomed and seated on the outdoor veranda, which was perfect after the evening had cooled down. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, with both indoor and outdoor seating options available.
For dinner, we shared a ham and cheese platter, a mixed grill, and a big salad; all generously portioned and more than enough for the four of us. Everything was well-prepared and delicious, offering a satisfying introduction to local cuisine.
The highlight of the meal, however, was the Montenegrin wine recommended by our friendly waiter. It was our first taste of local wine, and it was truly excellent.
The service throughout was kind and attentive, and we left full, happy, and looking forward to the rest of our culinary experiences in Montenegro. Highly recommended if you're in the area and want a good meal with warm service and a relaxed atmosphere.
