Hotel Aristoy

We arrived on Saturday about 1 pm. Tried to drop our bags off but there wasn't anyone on reception (and no response to my WhatsApp or Booking.com message the day before our arrival re bag drop), so we went to lunch with our bags. We tried to get into our room about 2.30pm but the key code didn't work. We called the number provided by the hotel who called the cleaner of the hotel who let us into the room. Later, when we went to go out for the evening, we checked the key code, but again it didn't work. Another phone call and we were given another key code. Please be aware that there is a restaurant in the small plaza which is on the ground floor adjacent to the hotel. They are open into the small hours and generates a lot of noise. The room was clean and comfortable but there is a very bright green emergency light above the door which lit up the room at night. I suggest you bring an eye mask and ear plugs.

This hotel is horrible. The photos have nothing to do with reality. We were given a room that looked like a storage room, with an unbearable smell, it was terrible! Fortunately, we had only booked one night. We had to urgently find another hotel at 9:00 PM. We didn’t even use the room!||When we requested a refund, they told us to handle it with Booking. Booking submitted the request… and the hotel refused the refund!|An absolute disgrace.||AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!

Amazing staff, so so nice. Room was lovely and building was great too. Really nice little pool on the roof. Really good value for money. I must also say, the shower was incredible, it sounds silly but it was huge and the pressure was amazing; just what you want after a day on the beech!!

Has the potential to be a really nice hotel, but needs to nail the basics first. Good: 1. 10/10 for location, couldn’t be anymore in the heart of Tarifa! 2. Hotel is nicely decorated, very modern and a room had a great balcony. 3. Cleaner was very friendly and helped with dropping bags off. Bad: 1. Disappointing for the pool to not be open. It should be made public when in the year it’s either open or closed as it was one of the reasons I picked this hotel. 2. There isn’t technically a full-time reception. There was a man (who was very friendly) present for about 2 hours near the entrance to the hotel. Made checking-in, dropping bags off and asking for towels a little more difficult. 3. Wi-Fi is extremely slow 4. I did see some ants in the room (and glasses). I may return in the summer, but would like to see the above be improved.

The Aristoy was tastefully converted into a contemporary small boutique hotel. The location was great...right in the main area but a drop off the road, so it was quiet. Bed comfy, shower strong, coffee pot in room. Staff was lovely.

Cute updated hotel in the heart of the old city. Comfy bed, nice linens, powerful shower, coffee maker in room, small rooftop pool. Simple, clean, sufficient !!!! On an inner courtyard so you don't hear all the noise of the till morning partygoers.

The location id great in the center of the old town close to restaurants and bars. The rooms are small yet clean and comfy. To my taste the veds were a little small... Staff is friendly yet as many other hotels in Tarifa they are only present during the day. No breakfast offered, but you get coffee and tea complimentary in the room. Good value for money.

While staff and accommodation were well above 2 stars, IT'S NOT ACCESSIBLE via cars (only carry-on).
