Hôtel Arok

We stayed at Hôtel Arok in Strasbourg and found the rooms in the annexe area to be comfortable, clean, and of a good size. The street-facing views were pleasant, and my parents’ room had a fantastic view of the Gare and the Christmas tree, which was a lovely touch. The room heating worked well, and there was reliable running hot water throughout our stay. A nice bonus was the free coffee and snacks available in the lobby, which we appreciated. Overall, the staff was helpful, though the front desk staff during check-in seemed noticeably less enthusiastic than expected, especially considering the cost of the rooms. However, as it was around New Year’s, we’re willing to cut them some slack. The main drawback for us was the absence of a kettle in the room. While it wasn’t a big issue for me, it was quite inconvenient for my parents, who are both over 70. Having to go down to the lobby repeatedly to get hot water—especially in winter—was not practical for them. Hot water is often essential for senior citizens, whether for tea, coffee, or throat-related needs, and making frequent trips downstairs can be challenging at that age. Even offering kettles upon request with a refundable deposit would be a great solution. The bathrooms were spacious but fairly average. Despite this, the overall stay was comfortable, and the rooms were well-maintained. If the hotel addresses the kettle issue with senior guests in mind, it would easily be a solid 9/10 experience. P.S. the check out process was super smooth.

The location honestly couldn’t be more convenient. It’s right across the road from Strasbourg main station. Just cross the street and you’re there. Perfect if you’re traveling with luggage. And from that you can walk to the city in few minutes. The hotel feels very new. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was big and comfortable too. I had a city view and could even see the main train station, which was a nice touch. They also offer free hot drinks in the eating area near the lobby, which I really appreciated. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, super convenient, comfortable, good bed, smart TV with netflix/youtube 👍🏻, and great value for the location.

We had a lovely room with a great view (booked a superior room). The bathroom had a good size shower cubicle and both the room and bathroom were nice and clean. We were close to the lift but never heard anything and slept very well. The free coffee in reception is a nice touch there was also a rather pleasant hot apple drink. Staff were really nice and helpful they booked a taxi which turned up right on time for the return flight. I would happily recommend the Arok based on my experience. .

Loved how close this was to the train station (about 3 min walk). First floor of the hotel looks so chic and smells good. There are little tables for games (chess, etc). Received a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room which was a nice surprise and brought a huge smile to my face. When my partner and I walked into our room (#323), we were greeted with faux rose petals arranged on the bed and a hand written note from staff. Such a thoughtful gesture. The room was spacious, clean, had good ventilation in the room and restroom, and good natural and artificial lighting. Our window overlooked the front of the train station. The shower was spacious, mostly clean, and had 2 shower heads. The only thing that prevented this from being 5-stars was lack of toiletries in the room. There is a 3-in-1 wall-mounted soap near the sink and in the shower. Plenty of towels. I would highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for the welcoming experience.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights while visiting the Christmas markets and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel’s location is excellent—literally across the street from the train station—which made everything extremely convenient. Being outside the town center meant we didn’t have to pass through security with our luggage, and the proximity to the station was perfect since we took a couple of day trips to Colmar and nearby villages to visit their markets.||One feature we especially appreciated was the separate room with individual lockers for storing luggage when checking in early—something we’ve never seen at another hotel. We also visited the bar a few times and found it to be a lovely place to enjoy a drink. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel and would happily stay here again.

I cannot say enough good things about Arok Hotel. The staff was kind and multilingual. The check-in and check-out processes were seamless and easy. The hotel is in a great location, very convenient to the train station, a pharmacy, dining options, and walkable to all of the Christmas Markets. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The atmosphere and decor was quirky and fun! The noise level was reasonable and the hotel provided a great night's sleep every night during our stay. I highly recommend the Arok Hotel!

The best aspects of this hotel are the lobby including the nice lounge area and coffee/snacks, friendly staff, and the very good breakfast. Our room in the annex, however, was nothing like what I would expect for a 3-star hotel. The bed was very narrow for a European double (140 cm at best, not the more common 160) and was placed with one side against a wall so the person on that side is trapped while the other person is in bed. No bedside tables, no room for anything except the bed and a very narrow desk by the door, and only a stool to sit on. This was really a single room and should not have been sold as a double. Overall the barest, most minimal furnishings, completely unlike the nicely-furnished rooms in the photos on the website. (The bathroom was surprisingly large and nicely equipped but didn't make up for the very uncomfortable room.)

I loved my stay at the Arok!! My dad and I took a trip to France and stayed 3 days at the Arok in separate rooms. We stayed in the new renovation, in the building adjacent to the main building. Both rooms were impeccable, clean, large, and had windows that opened (I like to have fresh air). We ate the hotel breakfast every morning (it was a HUGE selection of meats, cheeses, breads, jams, etc). The reception was friendly. We enjoyed the 24 hour hot chocolate/coffee/tea service. We didn't ask for our rooms to be cleaned while we were there, so I can't speak to that. We felt safe, as the key was needed to open the door, as well as a code. The elevator worked well. The location is just a few steps away from the train station, and about a 15 minute walk to Petite France and the Strasbourg Cathedral. I would stay here again when I come back to this lovely town!

I loved the convenience of this hotel. The snacks and breakfast were good. My major concerns were the bathroom amenities and the lack of air conditioning. We were told it was because the ac couldn't be more than ten degrees below outside. That is fine. However, when it is cool outside and our room is sweltering, something is wrong. They did offer a fan, which helped a little. However, waking every morning covered in sweat did not make for relaxing vacation.

Great place to stay! Less than 5 minute walk to train station and short walk to all main tourism attractions. Amazing and friendly staff, beautiful Christmas decorations and free coffee for guests while you stay. The only complaint we had was a strange sewery smell that would crop up occasionally in our room and in the hallways. It wasn't overwhelming and I've smelled worse in the entertainment areas of town back home, just a little off putting when you might occasionally catch a whiff of it. There was a moment where I smelled it outside one afternoon on the street, so it may just be something in that part of town. I noticed it more than my husband since I'm more sensitive to smells. But that being said there is an Arok brand signature scent for sale in their lobby that smells great and most of the time everything smelled lovely! The staff were the best part of the hotel, they were friendly and were encouraging some World Cup raffle games and Christmas activities. Our room was spacious and has a view of the pretty train station too, recommend!
